I can picture it clearly. C and Mc having kids together, with C frantically chasing after them to make sure they don't accidentally set their father/mother on fire and turn them into ash.

MC after their child fire sneezes on them:

Baby phoenixes are difficult to manage sometimes due to their lack of control with their fire — hence them typically being born somewhere that said inability can be managed until it’s safe — but they’ll hopefully get the hang of it soon enough.

For the MCs sake, let’s hope so. 😂

Do mate marks have to be announced in advanced when it comes to certain families (Scarlett's and Cy's) or is it strictly something between them and MC?

I thought I'd ask because given Cy's royal status it would maybe have to come up so that the wedding can then be planned shortly after.

And Scarlett's family is the oldest Vampire family in existence, so I don't know if that would be something that would make her have to bring it up before it happens, even though she's not first-born.

Although something tells me A) She'd do it AFTER she received MC's mate mark and B) If anyone asked if it happened yet she'd tell them to (politely of course) to bugger off.

I hope you don't mind these mate mark questions. I did have a look through the already answered ones, but this seems so specific in nature I don't think it's been brought up before.

There’s official announcements to the wider supernatural community, yes. Like a royal engagement announcement pretty much. Though — when it comes to actual family members — it typically depends on the family in general; with House Aurelia, for instance, Cy wouldn’t really need to announce it as the MC simply being allowed to be around them and in deep relationship with them sort of showcases that the members of the royal family would accept the bond regardless. Alaric would probably want Scarlett to tell him just so he can have “the talk” with the MC again… As Alaric would have definitely already had a version of said talk with you. So it wouldn’t be for prosperity’s sake… Alaric and Scarlett just share the same sense of humor even though they’d both scoff at the comparison.

When it comes to weddings and things those can typically be planned at a slower pace, but the families would typically have been told — or at least aware — at that point to begin planning.

And you’re exactly correct on Scarlett; she’d walk in to a scheduled dinner with her father and stare him dead in the eye as she sat down. Not even trying to hide it. Now if it hadn’t happened yet and people kept asking? She’d definitely tell people to stop trying to rush something that didn’t need to be rushed; especially if it was making you uncomfortable.

I don’t mind the mating mark questions in the slightest! I’m well aware that a lot of questions can be raised due to said piece of world-building for Midnight Sun. And I’m always happy to try my best to answer any questions you all have regardless! ❤️

If we romance either Scarlett or Cy would that mean that family would have more power in the Etheric Court?

No. The MCs involvement with Cyrus/Cyra or Scarlett wouldn’t influence the standing for the family within the Etheric Court in the slightest — as the MC wouldn’t be the one with said power, that’d still belong to Scarlett and/or Cy. It may influence how other noble families treat them outside of the Etheric Court, or lower noble families wanting to get into the Etheric Court, but it wouldn’t change anything within the Court as a whole.

The Family also wouldn’t be shown any form of favoritism when it comes to the Court as well — unless, as I mentioned, it’s lower noble houses trying to get into their favor — as interpersonal relationships only end in favoritism and issues in the long run when it comes to the running of things… Mixing business with personal in such a way would only cause headaches in the long run. Would that mean that other noble families wouldn’t call into question, or whine, about potential favoritism? Absolutely not, but that doesn’t mean it’s the case.

You’ve mentioned that Cy has siblings right? Can you tell us more about them?

Cyrus/Cyra does have siblings, correct! I’ve gone back and forth on how many they have, but the final answer is five.

From Oldest to Youngest:

Cyrus/Cyra — 103

Aurora — 100

Helios — 96

Kiran — 92

Apollo and Artemis — 81

(Seeing the ages make me chuckle.)

What do C's siblings think of the MC if they're romancing C?

Aurora: Thinks it’s nice that Cy has found someone, but she’s more concerned about her duties to House Aurelia then to involve herself with her older siblings romantic life. Other than that passing thought she doesn’t have much of a reaction.

Helios: Doesn’t care one way or the other. Doesn’t think much of you, to be honest. He has a contentious relationship with Cy as it stands, which means he won’t care who they’re seeing.

Kiran: Is like Aurora, he’s neutral about the entire thing. He’ll think it’s neat his sibling found someone, but wouldn’t concern himself with it all too much. He’s married himself and would be happy to give Cy some pointers though.

Apollo: Thinks it’s absolutely neat and would love to get to know you! He thinks that anyone who was able capture his big siblings attention is definitely someone worth knowing.

Artemis: Is concerned about how Ash fits into all of this and what Cy might have done… But, other than that, she’s happy to meet you and will try her best to make you feel welcome. Although she is a bit more standoffish than her twin.

Does C look more like their mom or dad?

Absolutely! They’ll make a couple of appearances/be mentioned at times (due to who they are).

C actually looks more like their grandfather! Though they got their height from their mother (as their father is on the shorter side).
