Alicia Sadowski at MMFA:
Eric and Donald Trump Jr. are assuming the position of “loyalty czars” within the Trump campaign, Axios reported on April 24, with the two eldest Trump sons aiming to “focus on vetting potential officials and staffers for ideology and loyalty” and to “take a lead in making sure government jobs are filled by Republicans aligned with Trump's vision for the party.”
Donald Trump Jr., who hosts the Triggered podcast hosted on far-right YouTube alternative Rumble, gave a list of people on he would like to be in Trump's 2nd term cabinet.
Some of these far-right influencers drafted in would include Mike Davis, Laura Loomer, James O'Keefe, and Dan Bongino.

Abandoned (1949)
"Now, look, pal. If it were me, I'd tell you I couldn't fix it, not for love nor money."
"Who said anything about love?"
"Like all the rest. You think you can buy me for money."
"Here, Delaney."
"Well, you're right. But it takes more."
"Who said anything about no more?"

A woman walks into the Los Angeles City Hall at night, followed by a sinister figure keeping to the shadows. The chiaroscuro cinematography for the scene, by the accomplished William Daniels, and the presence of Raymond Burr as the stalker, place Joseph M. Newman’s ABANDONED (1949, TCM, YouTube) squarely in the world of film noir. Yet the actress, Gale Storm, would seem somewhat incongruous in the world of corruption and double-cross. It’s not that she’s bad. She’s thoroughly competent. It’s what her later image brings to the film. In a way, that’s symbolic of how what could have been a distinctive, hard-hitting treatment of sexual hypocrisy goes soft because of the Production Code.
Storm is a small-town girl trying to find her older sister, who vanished after giving birth in a private hospital where nobody has any record of her stay. Reporter Dennis O’Keefe helps her dig into the case, which leads to a baby adoption racket led by respectable society matron Marjorie Rambeau. Irwin Gielgud’s story was inspired by an actual L.A. case from the year before and oddly prefigures the case against Mary Tan’s Tennessee Children’s Home Society a year after the film’s release. For 1949, the implication that Rambeau preyed on unwed mothers was hot enough, and the suggestion that the rich and socially prominent were using the unfortunate almost subversive. But the Code cut Gielgud’s suggestion that the missing woman had run from an incestuous relationship with her father, who had refused to pay for an abortion. All that remains is Storm’s line about their father: “He never would leave either one of us alone.” It’s supposed to explain his hiring Burr to track the older sister and later trail Storm, but even without context, it sounds like an accusation. But it still doesn’t quite explain why he’d hire a thug like Burr in the first place or how he stumbled into hiring someone who just happens to be connected to the adoption racket. And it blunts what could have been a noirish nightmare image of the American family.
The film is highly entertaining nonetheless. Newman keeps it moving well, and Daniels’ photography is a joy to watch. Storm isn’t bad, but her apple-cheeked charm (she’s like the teen Shirley Temple, only with more baby fat) just feels out of place. She’s at her best flirting with O’Keefe, who has some good wisecracks provided by writer William Bowers. Jeanette Nolan turns up more restrained than usual as the head of a legitimate home for unwed mothers. Also featured are Jeff Chandler as the district attorney, Will Kuluva and Mike Mazurki as Rambeau’s muscle and, very briefly, Frank Cady as O’Keefe’s editor. Main acting honors go to Rambeau, who in one scene shows how to use stillness to dominate an actor as large and imposing as Burr.

Band of Brothers Ages: IRL vs. Actors
Did you know that according to a 1947 study, almost half the men who served in WWII were still under age 26 by the end of the war?
What this is : A (very long) post comparing the ages of the actors in Band of Brothers vs. the IRL figures they are portraying.
Background: Did I need to do this? No. Did anyone ask for this? Also no. Did I do it anyway? Yes.
Disclaimers: This is SUPER approximate for the most part. I based IRL ages off of D-Day unless otherwise noted, and actor ages off of January 1, 2000, the year filming took place (the latter is where the most variation will be because I didn't try to figure out what month filming started). I also didn't fact-check birthdays beyond googling. Most are sourced from the Band of Brothers and Military Wikis on fandom.com, Wikipedia, and IMDb.
I broke them up into rough categories, which are, again, approximate. I know I often forget how young the real life people were here, and this was a good reminder of that. I also found it interesting to see which actors were actually younger than their roles!
Check it all out under the cut ⬇️

Escape from Camazotz: TFS, Shadow NINA, and Saving Your Dad From The Fucked Up Idyllic World A Shadow Monster Has Imprisoned Him In
Loads of people have already talked about how this all:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
is reminiscent of A Wrinkle In Time. And I agree...to an extent. I even have an initial Thing about AWIT from April 2023.
What doesn't make sense, though, is if that's the case...then whose father is being sought after/saved? The whole point in AWIT is that Meg Murry had to save her father from Camazotz, a creepily idyllic/conformist world created by IT...
Tumblr media
...that also serves as a prison.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The capitol city of Camazotz is CENTRAL/Central Intelligence, and it's overseen by IT and the man with Red Eyes, who serves as a front for IT. Something something...CIA...Richard Brenner being the head of narcotics at HNL vs all the NINA-TFS-Mindflayer hallucinogenic drug ties I outlined previously.
Tumblr media
Anyway, returning to suburban Camazotz...You know what else is idyllic that arguably shouldn't be?
Henry's current form.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
There have been numerous posts relating the Mindflayer to IT (AWIT), which is where the idyllic but unreal nature comes in.
I've spoken ad nauseam about how TFS, NINA, and Shadow NINA all run along the same lines re: unreality/simulation/Matrix-y type deal, with the Mindflayer being able to quite literally run a different version of NINA to entrap Henry in the VR game. What I want to touch on is a section from the big analysis re: Henry's current whereabouts—
Tumblr media
Specifically, per the VR, Henry was banished back into his mind in 1984, just before Will's flaying...which, as far as the VR tells us, he had no active involvement in. We don't know where he ended up, exactly, but the banishment does introduce us to the Shadow NINA concept.
Henry, per the VR, may very well still be trapped in the unreality maze of Shadow NINA.
It's also hilarious to to me that AWIT has a stage play...
Tumblr media
...because we see, per TFS, this degree of romanticization coming from Henry alongside the unreality (below is also an excerpt from the big analysis)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
In the VR, we're told Henry was bullied by his peers, but that never takes place in TFS. Nor is Bob bullied, though he also canonically says he was. This tells me the romanticization feeds into the unreality, creating what I had been saying all along: A nearly perfect dream world...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
...until it comes crashing down when TFS Brenner exposes the truth. Henry has a persistent and steadfast commitment to writing off aspects of this unreality that flag it as unreality, and a persistent drive for normalcy. He wants to be normal and happy, and he tries to push down/hide from/ignore anything that says otherwise until he can't anymore.
In short: He's in deep, babes.
However, the real point I want to make with all this in mind: It's 100% possible the leaks we've seen of Jamie and Nell are set in a Camazotz-like Matrix-y idyllic dream world.
It's also possible, given the ties between Nell's character, Jane, and Henry, as well as Jamie's statements on Henry truly having wanted a nice life with El outside the lab and the understanding that parallels between texts and show are NEVER going to be 1:1, that Nell's character is the Meg Murry to Will's Charles Wallace and Mike's Calvin O'Keefe.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This works especially well considering that Charles Wallace is the one who ends up possessed by IT, much like Will has his persistent connection to the Mindflayer, and Meg Murry is looking for her father, which Henry isn't to either Mike or Will...but might be to a Mindflayer-generated version of the daughter he wanted to run away and start a new life with: Jane.
That's not to say Henry would be willing to leave that world, especially if he's got the life he always dreamed of, whether it's a gilded cage or not.
Final additional point: Hello overalls on Meg and flannel+bowl cut on Charles Wallace.

Since I’m sad that otome games don’t have English dubs when they get realeased in the west, I’ve decided to do English fan casts to alleviate the pain. (I get that they’re a niche genre, but let me have this)
Code Realize, Hakuoki, and Amnesia will have the same voice actors from their English dubs. One of the exception is Toma, since his voice actor is unfortunately dead. I would replace Toma’s voice actor with Mike Haimoto. Another exception is Sanosuke Harada’s voice actor since he’s been blacklisted and arrested due to grooming a 16 year old and marrying her in 2014. He’s already been replaced by Phil Hayes in the Hakuoki movies, so he’ll stay.
I’m not doing Collar X Malice at the moment since it’s getting a movie adaptation this year, and (hopefully) it will inevitably get an English dub. If it doesn’t, then I’ll do it on the future.
The heroines are all voiced in English as well because I say so lol.

Hello, everyone! A couple of days ago I asked if ya'll wanted to see my fancast for the older Stranger Things kids & teens and I got a majority yes vote, so here you go.
Please note that this is simply a fancast, if you don't agree with it or have different suggestion, you can do that kindly (I know I'm being preemtively defensive, but I've seen people get attacked over fancasts before). Also note that the AU for my fanfiction takes place in the 2010s, putting the kids in their late 30s and the teens in their early 40s-ish. Also, also note, I had an extremely tough time picking older castings for Mike, Will, and Jonathan and I tried my best to meet in the middle.
Thank you again to @oneirataxia-girl for helping me with this!

And tonight then Disaster at Silo 7 from 1988. Cast: Ray Baker - Col. Chadwick Peter Boyle - Gen. Sanger Patricia Charbonneau - Kathy Fitzgerald Perry King - Major Hicks Michael O'Keefe - Sgt. Mike Fitzgerald Joe Spano - Sgt. Swofford Dennis Weaver - Sheriff Ben Harlen and many more
Story: During routine maintenance of a liquid-fuelled ICBM, the fuel tank is penetrated by a falling spanner. The film traces the efforts of the maintenance crew and associated military and civilian personnel to recover the potentially disastrous situation before the fuel tank is sufficiently depressurised that the stack collapses and explodes. —Mike McBain (taken from IMDB again) Thoughts: Based on a true incident at the beginning of the 1980, this movie captures the efforts of all involved parties to not let explode the missiles. It was the time when the Cold War was still open, and weapons should protect the people. Sgt. Fitzgerald and his people are always checking it but after a minor incident, the missile starts to get up. Some miscommunication lets the missile explode and hurt several people. All superiors are involved and they try to step down the damage but the local people have their ways. Major Hicks is the highest ranking person there and so he's at the immediate front. All help the best way they could - until the rain stops the bad air.
You are strongly reminded of the times of Cold War. Thankfully, some secrets remained with the governments.
