Thanks folks ... I'm still dreaming ... These past days in Canada 🇨🇦 I was truly a wonderful experience. It was amazing meeting and working with so many generous and kind people !! I'm so glad to have met you all. How much of a real pleasure it was, to share spaces and creative energy, was amazing come back to shoot on film among such talented people, and experience the hand processes together I was inspired and reinvigorated, by the experience. Además de vivir la experiencia mágica de la granja tuve la suerte de partipar en los eventos preparados para la celebración de sus 25 años como la exposición, Film Farm: 25 Years of the Mount Forest Independent Imaging Retreat. Y Los programas diseñados por #ChrisKennedy o la presentación del nuevo libro de #JanineMarchessault y #ScottMacKenzie “Process Cinema: Handmade Film in the Digital Age”. Que se celebraron en el @tiff_net de Toronto. Puro delicatessen. Pero como la magia existe y creemos en ella, tuve la suerte de cruzarme en la vida con tres almas gemelas, @alexandragelis , @jorgeloxano y #MikeHoolboom ideólogos y auténtico corazón del #converSalón espacio de encuentro para artistas y cineastas dónde comer y conversar sobre, por y para el cine lo es todo. Y al que fui invitado a mostrar y hablar sobre nuestra nave alienígena, el @s8cinema Que satisfacción seguir celebrando estos 10 años del (S8) rodeado de tanto cariño por nuestro pequeño, gran festival que levanta admiración e ilusiones por ahí por donde pasa. Email from filmmaker Mike Hoolboom to Steve Reinke, 27/10/2009: 

hi steve, 

just watched your disambiguation: wow, a stunning video, filled with righteous home spun so bad it's good musics and treatments and your winning animations and pointed barbs and solo jerks washing through it all. The events are so telling, the missing mother, the abandoned/lost zoo/monkey boy, the killer line about suicide (could you use this line in your lines about mark?). The couple dance (a bit long, but a righteous idea), the formalist video recall stunts (the genius tape recorder: what a move, fabulous) worked so well, the sesame street dress up characters providing a caricature of subjectivity itself, it all feels like a raw portrait of the american family. There are a few things which are a bit long (the silence after the mother for instance, and that singer intercut with insect like: didn't have much feeling for this at all, let alone in repeat mode). but the chocolate goo girl was super, and the titled musings on the relations between aids and queer identity were horrifyingly preposterous. Perfect in other words. It feels like a spun out spiritual animal kingdom, with fewer rhetorical interventions than usual, but they weren't wanting. In its reliance on sound and picture it doesn't exactly become 'cinematic' but occupies some other trope, perhaps not yet invented. sure feels good.
