Quali?
//

Tips on Getting the Best Dog
Before deciding on which dog to pick, it’s important to know whether you are really ready to get a dog or not. Since it’s not the main point of the post, I’d just put the link of an article in Rappler asking the right questions to evaluate if you’re actually ready for the commitment and responsibilities that come with taking home a pupper: here.
The idea of a “best dog” varies from person to person. For someone who has an active lifestyle, an equally active pooch might suit them best. For someone who owns a farm with a lot of sheep, then a dog bred for herding might be the perfect fit. If someone has asthma or allergies, then a hypoallergenic dog might be the best choice. There are even some breeds that’ll act like children and there are those that will protect the children. It really depends on you as an owner. (Disclaimer: I don’t discriminate breeds, I just know that most of them were bred for different reasons and they all have very different needs such as between an English Bulldog and a Belgian Malinois, you can’t expect the bulldog to join you in your loooooong walks.)
While I advocate the idea of “adopt, don’t shop”, I cannot discount the fact that many people, especially first-time dog owners, would opt to buy a puppy. One reason for this is that people think you can’t teach an old dog new tricks, and while it’s somehow true, an old dog can love you just as much (maybe even more because you know, they’re more grateful for you saving them). I also advocate adopting our very own aspins, because they can be just as smart and easy to train as those full-bred ones (sometimes even better!), but yeah, I can’t force this idea onto everyone.
You just have to know how to look for the perfect temperament for you.
So here is the list of things you might want to consider when getting that pup!
Have a list of your prospective breeds and do an elimination method to find out which one you would get. How do you do the “elimination method”? Research, research, and research. For example, you have an interest in Great Danes, Huskies, and a Jack Russell Terrier. And here are the sample points to consider: you have an active lifestyle, live in a studio type condo unit where the management doesn’t allow loud noises. This would eliminate the Great Dane (since they need a spacious place to live in because of their enormous size) and Siberian Husky (because they’re prone to howl whenever they’re bored). So this leaves you with the Jack Russell Terrier which is small, isn’t prone to howling, and has high energy which can join you in your daily activities.
Choose a reputable breeder. Believe me when I say that vet bills are no joke, so it’s really frustrating when you get a pup, and it turns out to be a sickly dog growing up. So, in choosing which breeder you’ll buy your puppy from, ask for complete documents to ensure that the puppy you’ll be getting is from a good or champion line and/or does not have a family history of illnesses because just like in humans, there are canine conditions which are hereditary.
Do a kennel visit. If it’s physically impossible since the breeder is overseas or several provinces away from where you live, at least ask them to send as many videos as possible of the puppies. It’s so important to observe every puppy in the litter. Just like human children, every child has a different behavior. The cool thing about puppies is you could pick which one would be your perfect companion. Haha!
Prioritize behavior over looks. I know some pups have better patterns or are literally cuter than the rest of the pack but resist the urge to get the pup just because it’s cute if you know that its temperament wouldn’t suit the lifestyle that you have. Some puppies are independent, some are stubborn, some are overly attached, and some are aloof. My personal preference on which behavior is best is the one which is neither overly excited nor overly aloof. I learned this from Cesar Millan aka The Dog Whisperer, that dogs with a perfectly balanced temperament is the easiest to train.
If you’re adopting though, I’d like to thank you in advance. And here is a shorter list of things to consider.
If it’s your first time getting a dog that’s not a puppy anymore, be sure to visit the pound/shelter where you plan to get your new friend. Since adult dogs behave differently than puppies (because their life experiences/traumas have already shaped them into the dog they are today), it’s necessary to see how they behave in their natural habitat. Is the dog aloof? If so, then you know it would require you to have an extra bit of patience to allow the dog to trust you. Is the dog hyperactive? If so, then you know you constantly have to give this dog lots of playtime contrary to what other dogs may require.
Visit at least two more times before finally adopting the big baby. Let the dog familiarize itself with you. This way, you can establish a connection prior to taking the dog home. It’s so important to take home an adult dog that already trusts you.
If you’re getting a pet — either a puppy or an adult dog — and you already have dogs at home, please ensure that the dogs you have at home aren’t territorial and would welcome a new addition to the pack. If your dog at home is known to be aggressive, then it’s a stupid idea to let a puppy or an adult dog with an already traumatizing past, near it. Contact a professional to correct your aggressive dog’s behavior before getting a new one. Otherwise, just don’t get a new one. The world is already too cruel for these animals, don’t let another one be an addition to those already suffering dogs.

Private Dancer...
...is a 1984 song recorded by American singer Tina Turner. First recorded by British rock band Dire Straits, it was written by the group's lead vocalist Mark Knopfler and produced by John Carter for Turner's fifth solo album of the same name. Released as the album's fifth single, the track reached number seven on the US Billboard Hot 100 and number three on the US R&B chart. The song had moderate international success, reaching number 26 on the UK Singles Chart.
The song was intended for Dire Straits' 4th album Love over Gold. The backing track was recorded, but Mark Knopfler considered the lyrics unsuitable for a male singer, so the track was cut. Legal restrictions prevented the original recording being used by Tina Turner, so two years later it was remade by members of Dire Straits. Terry Williams replaced the original drummer Pick Withers. Knopfler did not appear on the track and was replaced by Jeff Beck. Turner told DJ Roger Scott:
Roger [Turner's manager] knows Knopfler's manager Ed Bicknell, and Bicknell said, 'I think Mark has a song that could fit Tina, that he never used because he thought it was a song for a girl.' Mark produced the song and sang it, and after he did it he felt that it was not a song for a man, so it was just sitting on the shelf… He gave me the track and I copied it with Dire Straits people – most of them. At first I was going to try to just put my voice on Mark's tapes, but there was a record company problem, so we got Mark's musicians, Dire Straits, and went into the studio... Someone said, 'Why did you select "Private Dancer"? It's a song about a hooker. Is it because you've been a hooker?' And I was shocked... I didn't see her as a hooker... I can be naive about some of these things. But actually the answer is no. I took it because it was an unusual song. I'd never sung a song like it. And I wish you could hear Mark's version of it. He's got a very English-sounding voice... and it was really quite beautiful.... A very arty song... so I put the old soulful touch on it.
Mark Knopfler has said the song was ruined due to "them drafting in Jeff Beck to play the world's second ugliest guitar solo".
The Daily Vault's Mark Millan wrote, "It's a sexy, dark track that gives the album an edge and also a chance for Turner's powerful sexuality to sparkle."
The accompanying music video for "Private Dancer", featuring dance choreography by Arlene Phillips, was directed by Brian Grant and filmed at London's Rivoli Ballroom. It features Turner as a disillusioned taxi dancer, although the song has also been interpreted as being sung from the perspective of a prostitute. The video was later published on Turner's official YouTube channel in March 2009. It has amassed more than 34,9 million views as of October 2021.

Tom Hiddleston is returning to television.
The Night Manager alum and star of Disney+'s forthcoming Marvel spinoff series Loki will topline Netflix political thriller White Stork, a 10-episode drama from the producers behind the streamer's breakout Sex Education.
Here's the official logline: When James Cooper is selected to run for a seat in parliament, Asher Millan is sent to vet him for primetime. But she quickly uncovers potentially damaging secrets buried deep in James’ past. Secrets that will threaten to blow everything apart — his career, his marriage, even the powerful people backing his campaign. White Stork is a political thriller about the paradox of truth in a post-truth world.
Christopher Dunlop created the series, which is being directed by Kristoffer Nyholm. Eleven, the company behind Sex Education, is the studio.
White Stork brings Hiddleston back to television after he won a Golden Globe and picked up an Emmy nomination for his lead role in AMC's British limited series The Night Manager. He next reprises his Marvel Cinematic Universe role as Loki for Netflix rival streamer Disney+.
Hiddleston's casting arrives as Netflix is making a concerted global content push as it looks to expand subscribers while also competing stateside at the Emmys. The streamer, which has been on a cancellation streak of late, continues to re-evaluate its originals as it weighs if its $17 billion budget is better spent on new series or additional seasons of existing scripted originals.
Sex Education, meanwhile, launched its second season last month on Netflix and is awaiting word on a third.

Derek Reiver: arriva "Do What You Want", prodotta con Max Millan e Dave Delly
"Do What You Want” è il nuovo singolo di Derek Reiver, dj producer italiano in decisa ascesa nella scena internazionale.
Not six sentence Sunday, part two
Picks up right after last week's. This time with fruk, because some shippers consider April 8th fruk day.
____
“And that's the story of how the two most awesome people in the world realized they were perfect for each other.” Gilbert finished.
“...You really did make out in the breakfast aisle?” Arthur asked.
“Of course, breakfast is awesome.”
“What Gilbert means,” Matthew elbowed him, “Is that it was unintended, and if we had an idea of where that conversation would lead, we would have had it somewhere else.”
“And also that breakfast is awesome. Besides, is probably better than your’s and Francis’ boring romance, right Luddy?”
“I wouldn't know,” Ludwig hesitated, “They've been together the entire time I've known them.”
“I found them kissing in our studio once.” Feliciano said, “Well, more than once, but the first time was right after they decided they were in love.”
“We were not in love yet!” Arthur protested.
“Mon cher, we've been in love since the moment we met.”
“So how did you meet?” Alfred bounced in his seat, “Is it really better than Gil and Mattie?”
“It was at work and Gilbert’s right: it was boring.” Arthur snapped.
Francis smirked, “He called me ‘miss’.”
“Well now I've got to hear it.”
“No, you don't!” Arthur groaned, “We've all seen Francis in a dress, we know it can be misleading!”
“What you really want to hear is how we ended up going on our first date.”
“No, they don't want to hear that either.”
“Of course they do, Cher.”
~~~
“Why don't we have a kettle here?” Arthur grumbled to himself as he put a mug full of water in the microwave, “Or teacups?”
“Because you're the only one who would use them?” Francis tapped the coffee machine.
“That won't make it work faster.”
Francis wrinkled his nose, “I don't know why I try, it's not very good anyway.”
“Because you have an addiction to caffeine? It's not that good for you anyway.”
“Doesn't tea have caffeine in it?”
“Shut up.”
Francis laughed as he filled cup, “I think your water's done.”
“Mhm.” Arthur took his boiling water, intending to add a tea bag. Instead he stumbled into Francis, spilling his hot water and Francis’ coffee onto him. Both of their mugs crashed to the floor.
Francis froze, his eyes closed and face twisted in pain.
“Oh my gosh, Francis. Sit down,” Arthur pushed him towards the table, “Take off your shirt.” He fumbled with it, trying to help him and feeling the heat coming from the soaked fabric as he looked up at Francis, who seemed to be in shock. “Say something?”
“Ow,” Francis hissed.
“Okay. Take off your shirt.” he repeated. He got up, grabbed some paper towels and soaked them in cold water before pressing them to Francis’ chest.
“You know, if you wanted me undressed, all you had to do was ask.”
“Hold those.” Arthur ignored him, getting up again, this time to find the first aid kit.
“What are you doing?” Francis whispered when he returned.
“Since this is my fault, I'm trying to make you feel better.  Or I could leave, if you'd prefer. Can you lift up your shirt?”
Francis gingerly peeled his wet undershirt from his chest. Arthur hissed sympathetically at the sight of his red, blistering skin.
“This might hurt,” Arthur warned before smearing a layer of ointment over the wound. “You haven't been saying much. You could be going into shock.”
“I think it's just pain.”
“I can take you to the doctor, if you'd like?”
“You seem to have it under control.” Francis smiled weakly as Arthur unfolded a piece of gauze and taped it to his chest. “But maybe you should make it up to me?”
Arthur raised an eyebrow.
“You could buy me a new coffee on Sunday morning?”
“Are you asking me to take you on a date?” Arthur stood up again, handing Francis the accident report form and picking up the pieces of the two broken mugs, “How do you know I'm not already in a relationship? Or that I even swing that way?”
“Do you?”
“You should probably get some proper burn cream and some bandages, that’s going to blister.”
“All right.” Francis sighed.
“I'll meet you at Millan’s at ten thirty, make a proper brunch out of it. How's that sound?”
"Perfect. Careful-" Francis warned him a second too late as Arthur dropped the shard that had cut him. Francis pulled a band-aid from the kit, "I'll fill out a form for you too."
~~~
“And the rest is history.” Francis shrugged.
Gilbert stared at Arthur, “You dumped boiling water on your boyfriend? I guess that's one way to get a date.”
Arthur glared at him, “He wasn't my boyfriend yet, and it wasn't intentional.”
“But it worked.” Francis leaned against his husband's shoulder.
Arthur switched his glare to him, “A little too well.”
“You love me.”
“Unfortunately I'm stuck with you.”
