Truly a fandom classic in my books, Familiar is a staple of fix-it fics, the best kind of magical realism, and has one specific line of prose in it that I still regularly think about, 8 years later. Guess which it is, comment your favourite Familiar line!

The Magician’s Battle of Secret Arts

I was enjoying my day with Miyako and Fluttershy. My mom and her family would come to Animation Land a week from that Thursday and I was pretty excited. Just then, Denzi Dog IC contacted me. According to him, a magician named Tenzan Asakaze had been murdered by the Vader Clan. I immediately rounded up my fellow Powerpuffs and the Mane Six and we set off for Denzi Land. When we got there, we found a young woman with the Denzimen. This was Tenzan’s daughter, Mari, who was just getting into magic in order to continue her father’s legacy of bringing hope to the children. I then noticed that Daigoro was missing. The Denzi Computer revealed to us that he was captured by the Vader Clan and was to be executed using a saw trick. This was all happening at Olivine City in the Johto Country. My fellow Powerpuffs and the Mane Six knew exactly what to do, so we took Mari with us to Olivine, where she revealed the trick to Daigoro, allowing him to fake being sliced. Mari then magically summoned the other Denzimen to us. We then saw the Vader Monster that murdered Tenzan. He was Vader Monster 30, Mimilar, who revealed that he murdered him by sabotaging an exploding box trick he had been testing out. I proceeded to use Psybeam on Mimilar, but surprise, he grew giant. My fellow Powerpuffs and I unleashed our monster forms, while DaiDenzin was brought in. I proceeded to use Psywave on Mimilar, confusing him greatly. DaiDenzin then finished the Vader Monster off with its Electric Full-Moon Cut. Tenzan had been avenged and Mari was now ready to continue his legacy, but I could sense Queen Hedrian starting to go out of control, so we all kept an eye out for her next Vader Monster.
