How to have a mindful Christmas: 1. Bring present moment awareness to holiday traditions, routines, and experiences. 2. Notice how you feel in relation to holiday festivities. Are you relaxed or tense? Take an emotional weather report. 3. Withhold all judgement from yourself. Allow yourself to be where you're at. 4. Be kind to yourself. 5. Forgive yourself all perceived holiday shortcomings. 6. Offer yourself and others compassion. 7. Breathe. Use your breath as a way to come into the present moment and also as a method for releasing held stress and tension. 8. Slow down. When you find yourself rushing in thought or action, stop. Connect with your breath. Take a moment to just be. 9. Focus on the good while also allowing any difficulties to have their due space. Honor the stress, pain, or grief. Process it, but come back to all that you do have and all that is going well for you. 10. Know that every moment is passing. We are in perpetual transition. Life doesn't stop, which is why it's precious.
