Again, I am way to late with this amazing series on netflix, since I have this streaming service for less than a year.

me getting a little too deep into criticizing the writing changes in the first batch of earthspark s2 and reminding myself that the trollhunters movie I refuse to name shows how it could always be way worse

It's that anniversary of that movie again. Three years now. I can't believe it...

I still remember how much emotional pain it brought on a lot of people and myself.

I remember after showing the movie to my parents after they've seen the trilogy, my dad said "It was a good movie".

Like no, NO it was a BAD movie... O_O I don't even understand how anyone could see the movie being good, and especially when so many people point out bad things about the movie that make sense. The script is what made the movie bad. The only good things about that movie were the animation, the actors and actresses with their amazing acting skills, and the music. And probably a few scenes during the first half of the movie, but when character deaths started to happen, the movie just started going downhill and the ending was the worst of it.

It didn't make me lose my interest in the Tales of Arcadia trilogy, luckily. I still love it, just not that movie.

The movie was Netflix's fault, I bet. If they didn't make Wizards be a limited series with just ten episodes and just let Wizards have two seasons that were originally planned without having to have things and the scripts get rushed, and without the movie, we probably could have gotten more of a better ending, possibly.

we're going with "general canids" here because

bellroc is obviously a maned wolf (chrysocuon brachyurus) bc they likewise are 90% leg, have a magnificent ruff, and just generally give off an air of "you expect them to be giving off shoujo manga sparkles."

skrael is an arctic fox (vulpes lagopus) because literal years ago i sent a rp partner a picture of an arctic fox stealing an egg like "that's your boy!" and now. that boy is now my boy. egg-stealing trickster bastard but so cozy comfy in the cold (plus summertime gothmode) and soooo cute.

nari, of course, is a tanuki (nyctereutes viverrinus) because nobody remembers tanuki are technically canids AND ALSO while that's true of all three of these species, racoon dogs are more closely related to foxes than maned woofs. also also, per wikipedia: "they are reputed to be mischievous and jolly, masters of disguise and shapeshifting but somewhat gullible and absent-minded." hello.
