Marcy is the best aspects of Mabel and Luz's arcs respectively when it came to calling her out.

This is not a place to be bashing Mabel or Luz but rather to highlight how Marcy has the best traits of both arcs

Specifically the what's and whys

Mabel's Arc would not have worked if they focused on her whats, her actions are not Deliberate enough for blaming her

So wmg2 makes the decision to focus on the whys instead.

Luz's arc wouldn't have worked if it focused on her whys because she didn't have enough nuanced reasoning for what she did,

Hollow Mind and s3 focused on what she did and how she felt about it, a.k.a the whats

Marcy? She got the whats and the whys, the best of both worlds, Her whats are devastating and Deliberate enough that it made sense to call her out and she felt bad, her whys are emotional and nuanced enough that it added to her character making her have the best of both worlds when it came to her arc.

Reminder: this is not a Mabel or Luz slander post, their arcs only worked because they focused on what mattered.

I feel like there aren't any possible plotlines that can work if people blamed mabel for weirdmageddon in the show.

The context forces Mabel to be scammed by a god in a facade and that basically removes any blame I have for her.

Solutions for Mabel to be Blamed:

Removing the context of what happened - This one sucks the most in terms of conflict because it absolutely cheapens the conflict itself by forcing a misunderstanding.

Making them OOC - Still sucks as a writing conflict, you have to purposefully mischaractersize them just for it to happen.

Making Mabel more aware and Deliberate/ Making Bill's plans more transparent and obvious to Mabel - Forces Bill to be OOC by not twisting his words and Making it too blatant, and forces Mabel to lose some of the nuance due to her weakened mental state.

Emphasising the Rift as a selfish move despite everything - I feel like this one would feel more like Ford and to an extent Dipper blaming themselves for not trusting Mabel enough realistically. And trying to make them mad about her giving the rift anyways makes them seem like assholes because they never told her anything.

None of these conflicts work really well because they either ruin or cheapen the story.

Focusing more on her Mental state rather than her actions was the right call for WMG2 because it definetly still acknowledges it happens (in like one scene like come on you gotta make it less subtle, it still works but it just needs more.) But it focuses on why rather than what and I think it does that good enough.

BFDIA 20 spoilers

So I'm saying this at school rn but Man Pin's design replicates how much she's straying from her old self

As the season progressed

So did her design

When she got affected in BFDIA 11 and 12, it was a period that changed her character after being helpless for a handful of eps.

And when she got her mech suit it reflected her new personality.

As she got worse, she started looking less like a Pin.

And IDFB is her recovering from her past actions and redeeming herself one step at a time before BFB finally concluded it with her being back to her red self.
