Summary: Your husband is no stranger to being touchy and clingy, but he's been especially annoying ever since you gave him the big news.

A/N: I'M MOTHERFUCKING BACK!!! I hope you guys enjoy this as much as I enjoyed writing this. For reference, this acts as a small prequel to a small series I have about stay at home husband/dad! Mingyu. You don't have to read the other parts, but I will leave a link to the series masterlist just in case people want to read it. Please leave feedback, I'd really appreciate it, especially since I'm a bit nervous about posting again haha.

A pair of warm hands suddenly wrap around your growing stomach, engulfing you as a gigantic presence looms over you. 

The shriek that escapes your lips is embarrassing, but not nearly embarrassing as your hands lose their grasp on the plate you were scrubbing, dropping it in the sink and causing the fine porcelain to shatter. 

"Shit—are you hurt, baby?" Your husband's voice echoes through the not yet completed kitchen, irking you more than it normally would. 

Spinning in his hold, you wipe your damp hands on the sides of your sweatpants before shooting him one of the deadliest (and sexiest) glares he's ever witnessed.

"No, I'm not hurt, but I keep telling you not to sneak up behind me when I'm doing the dishes! I don't even understand how your tall ass is that fucking quiet," you start, your brows furrowed as you hold your glare.

Mingyu opens his mouth to reply but can't get a single word out before you shush him with a single finger to the lips. 

"I'm not finished. And this is the fifth. No, the sixth time a plate has broken since we've moved here." 

"That's not that bad, Y/n," Mingyu defends with a pout accompanying his words.

You cock a brow at the tall man, scoffing at his pathetic defense, your tongue pressed into the side of your cheek.

Six plates is a lot for any man, but it becomes comical when it's only been a month and a half since moving into the new house with your klutz of a husband. 

"You've also spilled drinks. Many times. Dropped multiple glasses. And don't think that I'm stupid and don't know you dropped the bottle of wine Minghao gifted us. I was looking forward to drinking that. That's pretty bad, admit it, Gyu," you list off, enjoying how a deep rosiness reaches the tips of his ears, almost as deep as the wine you'd never be able to appreciate. 

Mingyu slowly turned your frame back around to face the sink once again. His hands roamed across your stomach, which was getting bigger and bigger with every day that passed.

 Like always, Mingyu felt his heart racing in his chest as he caressed your stomach, his body flooding with that overwhelming emotion he could only describe as true unconditional happiness and love for both of his girls. 

Okay, maybe he didn't know the sex of the baby yet, but his gut was telling him he was gonna be a father of a little baby girl, and he was sticking to it for now. His intuition rarely failed him, and if he hadn't stuck to his guns, he would have never got together with you. 

"You wouldn't be able to drink it right now anyway, baby. Let's focus on things I'm good at, hm? The kitchen is almost done, and the living room looks beautiful, if I do say so myself. I'm pretty good at painting, so I'll have the nursing done in no time. I just cooked my beautiful wife a wonderful meal that she was moaning about the entire time," he shamelessly declares, the smugness apparent in his voice. 

You bite back a sassy remark when you feel his hands traverse up your abdomen, gently grabbing your swollen breasts in his large hands to massage them carefully. Your head relaxes against him as you let out a deep sigh, your husband's skillful hands rubbing away the ache and soreness. 

Mingyu studied your blissful expression for what felt like the millionth time. He'd never grow tired of how your eyes would flutter shut, eyelashes resting on the tops of your cheeks as your pretty lips parted, taking deep breaths as you savored the feeling of his hands on your body. 

He tilts his head to bring his lips closer to your ear, "And I'm really good at making mommy feel good, isn't that right, baby?" 

Your eyes roll behind your eyelids as you let out a breathy laugh, amused but not surprised by your husband's antics.

"You're so annoying, Mingyu," you moan, practically purring your husband's name, which only inflates his ego more.

"How convenient for me; you've always looked so damn sexy when annoyed."

A light bulb lights up in your head as you watch your husband's back muscles as he walks over to the kitchen sink to set aside the dishes. 

Let's see how he likes it.

A Cheshire-like smirk paints your lips as you slowly come up behind your half-naked husband to wrap your arms around his waist, your stomach pressing against his tanned skin.

But much to your disappointment, Mingyu didn't give you the reaction you hoped for. 

"Gonna keep me company while I wash up?"

You frown and deeply exhale as you crawl your hands further up his torso. Your nails drag along his skin, which generates a shiver throughout his entire being, goosebumps forming on his skin. 

"No, I'm trying to give you a taste of your own medicine, but you're enjoying this too much," you reply, your fingers inching further with every word.

A low moan rumbles out of Mingyu as your hands feel up his sore chest from working out right before waking you for breakfast. 

Shit, his chest got even bigger. Damn, that home gym he insisted on. 

You watch as Mingyu writhes against you as your fingers trail over his nipples, a shaky breath forced out of his body as he grabs the edge of the sink.

He's so annoying.

it would take him a long time to warm up to the idea of him even remotely having feelings for you.

it took all his energy +1 to make sure he didn’t seem tired for his son and to still spend time with him

 so when he realised he started to like you his first thought was 'not does she like me back'

it was 'fuck, down to two hour sleep now'

I mean you had seen him around the boys but just watching him with his son warmed your heart and made you fall for him

however knowing how stressful his life was you just enjoyed the little times you spent together through Joonwoo

once minghao was certain his feelings weren't just a phase he started to think about how to deal with them

after becoming a father he really had to wing it with whatever came at him

but he didnt want to do that with you

especially since you knew more about him than anyone else

1st step was kicking out Jun and Jeonghan

Jun was not happy about being taken away from his precious nephew so he had to be pushed out of the freaking door

next was planning exactly how he was going to confess

the only experience he had with girls was Joonwoos mom so he was kind of in the dark

decided to write a song for you

the next couple of weeks minghao asked you to come over and watch Joonwoo while he worked on one of the new songs for the album

he really just wanted to write with you in the room

the first time you were actually alone with minghao was when you were dropping his son off back at the apartment (you had a key dont worry)

you were surprised that The8 wasn't there but it was late so you just put Joon to bed

you went to the only place you knew he would be

but most of the time you would just fall asleep on his couch just talking

honestly I think that's his favorite thing to do with you

minghao really doesnt get to have civilized conversations with people his own age

you often fall asleep pressed against his chest with his arms wrapped around you

Joon found you one morning and you had to tell him what was going on

about a month later you told the boys and they were all happy for you since they saw how happy you made minghao

being the one who takes all of minghao's fire insta pics when his insta account gets released

about a year in when Joon was 4 you both decided you wanted to come out to the public

however it was more complicated since that meant showing the world his son as well

he was very scared about how the public would react so when he posted a picture on insta of you and his son in the dance studio he was very nervous and monitored the post with the rest of the boys

Carat had a wonderful reaction and small videos of The8 and Joon started to be posted on his insta

a week later Minghao went to a press conference with both you and his son and explained everything

thankfully most of the fans were extremely supportive and loved your relationship

minghao loved to show off both you and his son

lots of behind the scenes videos of the boys where you can see minghao with you on his lap doing his makeup

his son is always at fanmeets

private dance lessons in the practice room

moving in with him and basically nothing changing in your relationship

you guys still never end up sleeping in the bed because you always end up passing out on the couch

he liked it when you play with his hands and fingers

doesnt quite grasp the meaning of 'help'

he is still so used to being by himself so he has no idea what to do when he comes home at 11:30 and there is nothing to clean up and his son is already in bed and you are asleep on the couch

kind of just stands there for a moment and then realizes how much he truly loves you and carries you to bed

Because of beekeeper Vernon, why not plant dad Seventeen.

Dk has a whole bear paw succulent army. It started off as one but it was just thriving *so* much that now there's two of them in every room of his house. He named the "mother" succulent Beatrice. You once mention in passing that they look cute, and 3 weeks later he's knocking at your door with a bear paw pup in a hand panted pot. (Maybe, just maybe, i want to live in this universe.)

The8 thrives with picky, high maintenance plants. He will somehow kill low maintenance ones. His biggest pride is one of those purple & green leafed leafy plants. It's nice and big and every time someone comes over, he has to give a 10 minute update on how it's been doing. Pretty sure he talks to them and includes them in his tea ceremonies.

Joshua likes any plant with leaves or vines that spill over the edge. Will cancel plans on people with some BS excuse like "sorry Theo's having a bad day". But Theo is his monstera in his living room. He drops $400 for one custom made planter and everyone questions his decision, but he just shrugs and admires his string of dolphins. "Only the best for them" and he gives a lil kiss

ohhhh my goddd i had to look up bear paw succulents but after seeing a picture, i'm now fully onboard with dokyeom and his bear paw army. it's so cute 😭😭😭😭😭 he would name every single one and when it's time to repot, he'd put it in a little custom pot with the name and little doodles on it, and he'd say good morning to each one every day 😭😭😭

Seventeen headcanon: Seventeen as Daycare Workers

a/n: i really dont have the time for a whole au for this so uh here’s a headcanon because i just needed to like write it down somewhere. maybe one day i’ll make a mini series for each of them or smth

Choi Seungcheol

he’s the boss

he doesn’t own the daycare but he works directly under the owners

they’re family friends of his

he absolutely adores the kids at the daycare

he knows every kid in the daycare so well

like he knows who needs what and when

he always has the answers so everyone goes to him when they need help

moms always hit on him but he doesn’t realize they’re trying to hit on him

tbh he’s too busy making sure the kid didn’t forget anything lmao

while he does mostly work with the older kids (so basically anyone outside the baby room) he does do everything

all of the kids love him so much

Yoon Jeonghan

honestly he technically was never officially hired

they were really low on staff once so Seungcheol begged Jeonghan to help

he promised to pay him so Jeonghan said yes because he needed money

but even once they hired someone else, Jeonghan kept showing up

so he just works there now

he was really,,,,,,,not into taking care of kids lmao

he’s like the stereotypical new dad who like holds his baby wrong and is like ‘wtf is this???’

but he’s gotten the hang of it and a lot of the kids love him

he’s convinced them he’s a real life angel

Jihoon is trying to undo that by telling them the opposite but some of the kids only think he’s even cooler

always gets hit on by the parents

Joshua Hong

he’s one of the preschool teachers

he doesn’t like having anyone call him Mr. Hong so the kids call him Mr. Josh or Mr. Shua

he hits on a lot of the moms

may have slept with one or two of them but that’s neither here nor there

like Jeonghan, he teaches them that he’s this perfect gentleman (mostly so they’ll go home and tell their moms that)

again, Jihoon tells them otherwise

he has so many drawings from his students and he keeps all of them in a big folder in his desk at home

refuses to throw anything the kids made away

but while he’s sweet with the kids, he doesn’t really have a good track record with calling anybody back

always scolded by Jihoon and Seungcheol

Wen Junhui

the kids love him because he’s basically a large child

the kids love him so much

he literally lets them climb all over him he loves it

loves to help the kids with lunch and snack and stuff

he mostly works with the toddlers and not so much the babies

he’s like Jeonghan when he first started working there but only with babies

teaches the kids words in mandarin all the time

loves to tickle them and make them laugh

whenever a kid is crying, Jun’s the guy to go to

gets hits on a moderate amount but is too flustered to do anything about it

Kwon Soonyoung

claims he’s the one in charge is Seungcheol or Jihoon aren’t there

thankfully at least one of them is always at work

like Jun, he acts like he’s one of the kids

but sometimes he’s.......too extra with it

banned from the baby room for being too loud all the time

usually in charge of circle time

teaches them little songs and dances and stuff

lowkey hoped working at a daycare would help him meet someone but all the kids go home and tell their parents about how goofy Soonyoung is

so none of the single parents take him seriously so when he’s trying to hit on them it doesn’t work out

at least the kids like him

though sometimes they bully him or throw their toys at him lmao

Jeon Wonwoo

the other teacher

Wonwoo teaches the older kids who come in after they’re at kindergarten or first grade

but that’s not until the afternoon, so during the morning, he’s usually in the baby room

Wonwoo’s a much quieter teacher than Josh but his kids adore him

he’s the true gentleman

seems like he’d be awkward with kids but he’s so good with them????

if they’re crying or upset, he’s soft and patient and understanding

he’s perfect with babies because he’s already quiet and gentle

and unlike Josh, he keeps things more professional with the parents

even if a lot of kids insist they want him to be their dad

Lee Jihoon

somehow, he became the second in command to Seungcheol

he was hired around the time that Jeonghan started getting dragged there

and despite claiming he had no training and hadn’t ever really worked with kids, he was a natural

and kids loved him even though he seemed so cold and annoyed toward everyone else

but with kids he’s so sweet

if a kid is being a brat he absolutely won’t put up with it, though

he’s a lot more blunt with kids misbehaving than Seungcheol is but he at least gets them to behave

moms used to hit on him but he made it painfully obvious he wasn’t interested

like Seungcheol, he also works with all he kids, but he mainly stays in the baby room

Lee Seokmin

he assists Wonwoo with his classes in the afternoon

but during the day he goes between the baby room and staying with the rest of the kids

known for singing kids and babies to sleep

the kids are so in love with his voice

he’ll sit on the floor and they’ll all lay in like a lil pile around him and just listen to him sing as they fall asleep

probably loves helping with crafts more than he should

he’ll make one for himself and bring it home like a proud child lmao

tbh he has baby fever real bad

Kim Mingyu

assists Joshua’s class

tries to sit at the really short tables with the kids but his knees are like in his chest

no matter how many times he does that, the kids still think it’s hilarious

doesn’t really assist with crafts because he would mess it up

he already made three kids cry for ruining their crafts and he refuses to mess up again

of course he’s popular with the parents

but honestly even like 5 of the little girls insist they’ll marry Mingyu when they’re older

Mingyu just thinks it’s cute tho

Xu Minghao

mostly stays in the baby room

lowkey has baby fever like Seokmin but won’t admit it

but also thinks the single parents (and tbh even some of the married ones) coming in and flirting with everyone is really dumb

loves holding the babies and trying to get them to smile

occasionally assists with the older kids when help is needed, like with recess or something

the kids think he’s so cool because he always speaks to Jun in mandarin

but he’s kind of a little more awkward with kids so he just get’s all blushy and mumbles a thank you

then retreats back to the baby room

Boo Seungkwan

tbh just applied for the job because he thought it would be easy money

he’s suffering

it’s like kids know he’s not that great with kids and try to rub it in his face

they climb all over him, throw food at him, color on him

tbh they give him the hardest time out of anybody else

his bad luck carries over into the baby room

Seungcheol thought maybe he should work in there instead but he always gets spit up and thrown up on

let’s just say he has to basically keep a whole closet in his car because he’s always changing his clothes

but there are still really cute moments where a kid will crawl into his lap and ask him to read to him or when he sings to a baby and it smiles up at him

so he suffers through the pain for those moments

Hansol Chwe

literally the chillest worker there

kids and parents alike both love him

babies, not so much, but that’s fine because he doesn’t really know how to hold a baby anyway

tbh he doesn’t really like know what to do and when he just kinda follows what everyone else does

he’s not the best with kids, but I mean, he keeps them alive and mostly happy so ?????

he’s not one of the favorites but he’s trying

he might try to help a crying kid and only make them cry harder but he’s t r y i n g

kids don’t hate him and that’s what matters

and he does his job

Lee Chan

y’know how Soonyoung says he would be next in charge after Jihoon? it would probably actually be Chan

he’s good with babies and kids

sometimes pops into the classes to help out

the owners love him and think he’s awesome

not that you were wrong, after all, you saw how well he took care of his 12 best friends, to the point of them declaring him as the unofficial dad of the group

and you’ve been friends with them long enough that you were super comfortable; they treated you like a little sister, even the younger boys

regardless, you ended up a stuttering mess when he asked you out for the first time

not that your first date was any better

he had decided to take you to a local carnival in town

both of you were so nervous, every time you played a game he’d let you win

and you only realized after he lost to you at shooting basketballs into hoops

because you had seen the boys play basketball a few times, and you knew that he wasn’t thAT bad

did it matter tho? because every prize he chose ended up being a gift for you to keep

it got to the point where by the end of the night you were nearly waddling from all of the stuffed animals in your arms

but you didn’t mind because you could see the slight red tinge on his cheeks and neck every time he looked over at you

you teased him about it, only for him to mumble “…you look so cute”

and you were sure your face looked exactly the same

and the rest of the date goes perfectly well

he drives you back to your house

and spends a adorably long time talking to you in front of your door

not that you blame him

because you don’t want the night to end either

but eventually, he realizes how late its gotten and turns to leave

and as you look as his back walking away from your front porch you suddenly get a burst of confidence

and run up to up before tapping him on the shoulder

“can i kiss you”

and he just looks at you, shocked, before nodding enthusiastically

and you lean up and quickly peck him on the lips before realizing

“oh my gosh what have i done”

you pull away quickly and bury your head in his chest until you hear

“would this be a bad time to ask about a second date”

and that’s how the two of you began dating

and the boys are super supportive

after all, they all were friends with you anyway, and they loved any excuse to have you around more often

plus you usually came with bundles of snacks because of course you need to eat?? when did you last eat,,, siX HOURS AGO??

nO MINGYU A PACK OF RAMEN IS NOT A MEAL

and that’s how you became the both the younger sister and the mom of the group

how could you not love those dumb, amazing, passionate 12 boys?

they’d take turns hanging out with you when s.coups was busy with meetings or in the recording studio

they loved having someone look at their choreography or music, because sometimes it was nice to hear someone say they liked their creations

outside of themselves

you didn’t catch him, but sometimes s.coups would finish his work early

and come to surprise you in whatever room the boys decided to hang out in

only to see you in the middle of his boys, with you eyes crinkled and cheeks completely fluffed up from how happy you were

and one of the boys, usually one of the younger boys, would reach out to capture you in a side hug, and you’d just melt into it

and he knew that he loved you

after all, you had so much love to give to him, and to the boys he had come to call his brothers

you soon understood the nickname the other boys gave to him

they use the term “승행설” (seunghaengseol) which means heart fluttering-seungcheol because this boy will make your heart run a mile per minute and yet be completely unaware of his effect on you

that never stopped bringing you small gifts from his work or from places he had visited with the others

like kimbap from the local restaurant, or a shell keychain from the boys’ vacation

after all, he wanted you to experience those things with him too

and for the most part, your relationship is smooth, with both of you occasionally having days where one is stressed, or just a little put out

more often than not, it’s you, and he ends up bringing you your favorite ice cream and listening to disney music with you until you fall asleep

but he has his bad days as well

days where you come to his room, only to find him frantic, panicking, and searching his room for some sort of work, any work, in order to distract himself

sometimes it gets hard, he tells you

it’s hard to shoulder the dreams of 12 boys on his back

at home, he’s the youngest, so the responsibility is new to him at first, and ovewhelming

after all, he’s the leader

it’s his responsibility to lead them, and even though he’s doing his best, sometimes he wonders am i doing enough? did ___ sleep? did ___ eat?

and he sees how tired the boys get, how they go through phases where they are just as confused about the future as he is

he feels the pain when he sees jun, minghao, and joshua try to articulate their words, sometimes huffing a little in frustration when they just,,, can’t

he see the stress on hoshi and jihoon’s faces, both of them leaders in their own right

when he sees hoshi in the dance studios working on choreo for their song

or when he sees jihoon in the recording studio, recording background vocals and demo versions of song options for the next album

and when they’re working on the dances together, he can see the slight exhaustion in the boys, but all he can do in the moment is ask them to just do it one more time. we can do it just once more

he wonders if he’s doing enough as the leader of the team

and asks himself where he can do better, where he can take the stress off the boys that look to him for guidance just as much as he looks to them for support

but all he can do is try and pick up the pieces of their dreams and remind them that

they’re in it for the long run

all 13 of them

and so you try your best to be there for him in those moments

because he is this precious little human bean aka a whole fluff ball rolled up into a human form

one night he ended up in the studio longer than he expected

he knew that you were planning to go see him but he couldn’t bear to text you so late and risk waking you up

so he walked back to the dorms

and to his surprise

he found you on the couch, snoring softly

there was a blanket on you, which he assumed one of the boys had decided you needed more then them

so he gently walked over and knelt to you eye level

and shook you awake, asking you “hey, did you wait all night for me?”

to which you replied “no… i hung you with jun and joshua for a bit, and then mingyu wanted someone to taste test this new recipe, and then jihoon came to tell me that you were working a bit late”

to which he’s a bit sad because you lost sleep because of him??

“but i was already here anyway so i didn’t mind waiting a bit longer to see you,, i know how hard you’ve been working for the comeback so i thought i could cheer you up, just a little”

“after all, you have to remember how important you are to me, and to everyone else too”

and then you yelped in surprise

because you were suddenly in his lap, and he had his arms around you, his head buried in your shoulder

and you hear him repeating softly “important, i’m important too” like a mantra

you lift your hand to stroke his hair and say yes you are so important

he only fell more in love with you, and you with him

mingyu was excited to go to hogwarts and wonwoo was just less excited, and kind of a bit nervous

being a introvert, he never had a lot of friends, but he always had soonyoung

they’ve been friends ever since diapers

he was just late

You wake up with your whole body sore and your head pounding like there’s no tomorrow. Thankfully, your stomach isn’t acting up and there’s no urge to throw your guts up.

You stay there for a while, eyes closed and fingers slowly rubbing your throbbing temple. The first thing that you manage to register in your mind is the mattress under you is much too soft, which means this is definitely not your bed.

At the thought, you immediately open your eyes, the weight of another person beside you finally settles in your mind—oh, no, no, no. There is definitely someone sleeping on the other side of the bed, and you don’t dare to look and see. The memories of last night come rushing in just like that; you remember arriving at the club with Jisoo and then accidentally meeting her boyfriend there. You remember him greeting you, and then dropped a kiss on Jisoo’s head as he told you two to have fun before leaving to find his friends.

What you don’t remember is how you end up here with… whoever this person is. You were a little past tipsy when he sat down beside you on the bar and, the next thing you remember, you were going up in the elevator with his lips never leaving yours.

Fuck. You shouldn’t have listened to Jisoo when she said it’s time you ‘unwind and have fun’ because you ‘finally quit that hellhole of a company’. You heart beats a million times faster as you gather your clothing and do your best to quickly and quietly wash up even a little. When you’re done, you can’t be more glad that this guy seems to not bothered even a little bit. You turn to him one last time as your hand hovers over the door knob, his body unmoving from his earlier position as he’s still deep in sleep.
