I ran out of the mint yarn and so I blocked and trimmed the squares until I get the yarn to finish the bottom banner. The first pic minus the bottom banner is most likely the version I'll be completing and putting together. The second pic is the full afghan minus the bottom banner. The other pics show it's over 6 ft long and almost 5 ft wide. My MIL is tiny and has a double bed, lol. I removed 4 squares because the afghan is 6 feet long without the bottom banner. I'm probably going to either do pillows or makes a smaller afghan for the kids. This project has been long but very fun. I look forward to the finish project.

My MIL's afghan is coming along nicely. My goal is to have it ready to gift by Mother's Day. I've adjusted the colors of the original pattern and made a change from the pattern on the apple tree square, which is my favorite square so far. This is fun and I'm truly hoping blocking straightens these squares. I decided to go with a Mini C2C because in my crochet groups I had read the afghans ultimately have less holes. This is also my first time doing a crochet graph project. In my crochet groups I heard that C2C graphs are easier, faster and quicker to make in large sizes. I want my first SC style graph to be a series of SC granny squares. I think I'm going to do a Harry Potter afghan like this. I'll perfect it because there are so many HP fans in my family this will be highly requested. I considered doing a quick C2C baby blanket without a picture but watched a few YouTube videos and felt I could master the concept easily enough while also completing a graphghan. #thecrochetcrowd has a fantastic YouTube video on how to read graphghan patterns and start a C2C graphghan for any interested.

I liked the designs so much I'm doing the bonus squares too. I made minor changes from the patterns. My favorite is the apple tree square. It's SO cute💗
