𝐂𝐗𝐗𝐗𝐕𝐈. A sign of deep trust is to allow someone to touch the spot over his heart— or what's more, to gently take their hand and guide it there. That is the spot where all the Ley Lines of his body congregate, and his heart is also what experimented changes the most as his blood flow changed into Ley Line ichor over the passing of centuries. As it happens in any other part of his body, he is particularly sensitive wherever Ley Lines are, thus suffice to say that the spot over his heart is sensitive the most. Although he knows he can't die, one's heart is the most important organ and in knowing that there is no danger to have his heart under someone else's palm he knows he's the safest in an otherwise dangerous world where one single mishap or moment of vulnerability where the Abyss and the Abyss Order can take him, he's done for. In moments of intimacy (platonic, romantic or beyond, it doesn't matter), it is also where he also likes the most to be touched so long as his physical pain isn't flaring up— be it by someone else's hand or letting them rest their head on his chest. Likewise and for similar reasons sans the Ley Lines, he also enjoys greatly the intimacy behind resting his head on someone else's chest and fall asleep to the sound of their heartbeat.

The way Elysia even if she got a second chance at life would throw it all away just for the sake of humanity absolutely annihilates my heart because she would sacrifice everything, sacrifice any chance at happiness she could have, if it would allow humanity to live, even if she’s in another world and thus it is no longer supposed to be her concern whether humanity will be ok in her world.

Headcanon Theatre: Minicanons

Hello everybody, welcome to the Hoard.

We got two headcanons for the price of one today. One that I don’t think is actually all that likely but amuses me to think about in a comedy setting, and the other is just straight up canon, no “head” about it, but also greatly amuses me.

First,

Dante and Nero Having Ideological Differences Over American vs. Italian Pizza

Now, I don’t really think this is likely, mostly because Dante strikes me as the kind of guy that loves all pizza, regardless of region, as long as it doesn’t have olives on it, and I highly doubt that Nero had ever even eaten pizza before the Fortuna Incident, and probably wouldn’t have that strong an opinion on the matter, but the idea of them getting into petty arguments over it while Vergil is off to side, voicing agreement with Nero because siding with his son over his brother is his jam, but internally being highly confused over why it matters, It just hits that ever so slightly dysfunction family dynamic niche that I love so much.

Second,

The Sparda Boys Having a Single Braincell Between Them

Again, this is just straight up canon. It’s also canon that the Braincell is usually with Nero, because Vergil can quote Blake all he likes, but he’s just as much of an idiot as Dante, and while Nero is also an idiot he’s also been gifted the loin’s share of the emotional maturity, as little as it is. And, again, this fits into the lowkey dysfunctional family dynamics.

what other nicknames do the aot boys (jean) call you 👀

(Jean) in parentheses is sending me idk why 😭😭 Jean is... look, he’s the only one allowed to use otherwise potentially cringy nicknames, because he’s perfect. If the words pretty girl, princess, sweetheart, even baby girl came out of the wrong man’s mouth, you’d wanna hit him with an old boot right? But Jean says them all so gently, means them all so sincerely, and has a way of making you believe it too :((( His go-to is probably baby... you get “my love” a lot when you’re texting him, and princess really is a favorite of his 🤒🤒

Eren is simple, and babe is his go-to. It’s so versatile: he says it when he’s pouting, he says it when he’s kissing you, he says it when he greets you, he says it when he’s trying to get your attention. It never fails for him. 10/10. Occasionally, you’ll hear him call you some term of affection in German, but he’ll never tell you what it means because he’s mean. Ask Carla. 

Connie comes up with every single name in the book. He loves using “my little” as a prefix and then filling in third word with literally any noun possible: my little peanut, my little mcgriddle, my little honeydrop, my little iphone 13 pro max... the possibilities are endless. He’s also a flirt, so he’ll use all the overtop ones, with wide, blown out heart-eyes: “What’s up, buttercup?” “How’s my sweet girl doing?” “Petal, do you want it with honey or sugar, or both?” 

Levi is simple. You’ll get princess sometimes, which is a sugarcoated and often sfw alternative to calling you a spoiled brat. Truthfully, pet names aren’t really his thing, he likes the sound of your name, and he says it differently than others; not, phonetically, but with a softer timbre, with more intention, with more love behind it. On occasion, he’ll let darling, or baby slip out of him. 

Armin somehow embarrasses himself when referring to you by a pet name, so he keeps them simple: babe, baby, and when he’s feeling bold (or when he’s particularly sleepy), sunshine. He’s kind of the opposite of Levi, in that, he doesn’t necessarily need you to call him by a pet name, because he’s got a thing for the way you say his name. 

Porco keeps it simple, calls you babe. Sometimes up the flirting, and refers to you as a babe, complete with a greasy grin and wink. When he wants to tease, he’ll call you doll—“Got all dressed up for me, doll? Lucky me.”—or if he really wants to push your buttons, he’ll say it when he knows you’re mad with him over something petty. He wants to get it, let him play games. 

Reiner is a sweetheart, and he thinks you’re one, too, which is why that’s exactly what he refers to you as. If not that, then baby is a favorite of his. Anything gentle that can convey his love for you, he’ll use, but he sticks to those two above all. Saves you in his phone as the love of his life, if that counts for anything.

𝐂𝐗𝐗𝐗𝐈. On another note, I have discovered something interesting. Before (I forgot how long it's been since then lol) I talked about Dain representing hope in two ways, one in his title as Twilight Sword —twilight can also be seen as the fall of something, but assuming that by his color palette he's to represent the blue hour, it also represents the previous moment to the rise of the sun, thus the coming of light— and another is his similarities with the Inteyvat.

He's a man full of rising against the odds: despite the curse he's still somehow sane, despite the corruption he doesn't have the breath of a monster, despite identifying himself as a Khaenri'ahn he isn't following the Abyss Order's steps, despite being a "dreg" for not being chosen by the gods and thus not holding a Vision, his strength is indisputable...

And to the previous two, I want to add a third one that is directly tied to his artwork, which depicts big black hole at his back (most likely related to his burst, as it is customary with other characters' artwork): the concept of light emerging from a black hole despite the fact that not even light can escape a black hole. What the theory says about this is that past the event horizon, only that which exceeds the speed of light —the highest speed of all— can escape the massive gravitational pull of the black hole.

However, there are elements such as light echoes or relativistic jets that give the impression of light escaping the black hole. The truth behind this is that, while they are technically in the black hole, the particles that cause this light are close to the event horizon but not past is so that they wouldn't be able to come out from it. Nevertheless, that doesn't mean that there isn't a gravitational pull there either. Anything that stays at that point can either fall or stay there and have its energy shine through.

I think that this could be another beautiful metaphor of what Dain is if we think of the black hole as the toxic and death-precipitating Abyss (I do this distinction because I'm one to think that in earlier times it wasn't that way, something more of a neutral ground instead) and he himself as that light that, "against all odds", escapes the black hole-Abyss even though it shouldn't be that way.

By the way, did I mention that if you call Elysia “Ellie” out of the blue when having a track record of calling her by her full name, you can get her to blush a little bit?

Even better if you call her “Dearest Elysia” to which you’ll get light pink cheeks, and if you call her “Dearest Ellie” you’ll get hot pink to even red cheeks.

The effects are doubled if you’re her lover. Doubled once again if you come up with something unique of your own to call her~!

—( Today we’re thinking about how Ignis was essentially a gifted kid who never experienced “gifted kid syndrome” ( burnout, feelings of shame and loss of motivation from not meeting potential, etc. ) because he was privileged enough to have a specialized education with multiple highly trained and influential adults with lots of resources focused on his own individual progress through a curriculum tailored specifically to him, and therefore never “fell through the cracks” of a school system designed to educate kids en masse. And how losing his eyesight is essentially his first reckoning with falling short of his personal goals and self image. And wondering how different he might be if he was the exact same person born into less money and status.
