well… still thinking about what the kwamis will look like, who knew, that tikki concept, where I showed the powers and the color palette, I ended up deleting, because I found that tikki a bit terrifying, considering its original version, (not to mention that I changed the terraform power, but that's for another post).
I gave it a good variety of styles, and took inspiration from @gee-arid's beautiful kwami style, number 3. I tried to make the original version, 1, and a totally black version (considering that kwamis shouldn't have such a specific appearance, and at most resemble the silhouette of an animal) number 2, 5 being a version where it would hide in puppetry, 7 a very basic spiritual form, kind of like those spirits, like this:
Tumblr media
The ones I really found interesting are 3, 4 and 6, since they're (only 4 and 6) both the same idea, only one cuter than the other (and with fewer hands), I'll probably go down this road, but it's always good to share ideas.
So... what do you think of the versions? which one is your favorite? And thanks for reading.

Balance of power
Normally when I create an au, I avoid changing many things, but the scale of powers is something relevant to level up, because theoretically speaking Tikki and Plagg would be the strongest, but only Duusu wins from both alone.
That's why I'm here making a list of "Kwami - concept - powers - weapon - detailing", maybe I'll change some in the future, but it's pretty much fixed.
* Note: all of miraculous's powers can be used by wielders without the transformation, but in a weaker and not very apparent way (such as the lucky charm and the ladybug pattern).
** Note: This is a topic for another post, but the kwamis have transformations and can merge with each other, in addition to the powers merge.
New Kwami powers
Ladybug Miraculous 🐞
Cat Miraculous 🐈‍⬛
Yin alignment
Tikki - Kwami of creation
Her weapon is still a yo-yo.
The lucky charm remains the same, but now has 2 powers in addition to purification and healing: Genesis, which allows the user to choose an object to create, just like the goat's previous power. And the third is Terraforme, which allows the terrain to be altered only by creating and not destroying.
*Note: Purification of Akumas has been split with the cat's, but it only works on destructive Akumas; and Repair of Luck (Miraculous Ladybug) only works on things destroyed by the Akumatized.
Bee Miraculous 🐝
Yang Alignment
Plagg - Kwami of destruction
Your weapon is now a giant hammer.
In addition to Cataclysm, I've added 2 powers: Black Hole, a point that can be fixed somewhere and attract everything to a single point, or launched, going in a single direction destroying everything in its path, until the bearer deactivates it. And the third is the Feral, which basically increases physical characteristics such as speed, sight and strength, as well as creating claws that cut anything, but only for a short time.
*Note: Purification only works on creator Akumas; and the Chaos Destroyer (miraculous ladybug) only works on things created by the Akumatized.
Fox Miraculous🦊
Wood Base
Pollen - Kwami of submission
His weapon is a spear.
Toxin allows the user to manipulate a toxin with varying effects of the user's choosing, but direct contact is required to have any effect. Honey comb releases a calming aroma, not in the sense of emotion, but in the sense of reaction, slowing the inhaler down.
Turtle Mirauculous🐢
Fire Base
Trixx - Kwami of illusion
His weapon is a bow.
Make believe is basically mirage, but with the difference that it can't be applied to the user, apart from illusions becoming "real" if someone believes it to be real. Trick is only applied to the user and is basically shape-shifting.
Butterfly Miraculous 🦋
Water Base
Wayzz - Kwami of protection
His weapon is an umbrella.
Aura allows you to create matter that is practically impermeable (only for cataclysms), very malleable, basically being able to create anything inanimate. Resistance I put Stompp's power because I think it makes more sense with Wayzz and his concept.
Peacock Miraculous🦚
Earth Base
Nooroo - Kwami of emotion
His weapon is a dagger.
Akuma Alignment is the division of the akuma and, in a way, choice of powers, since he can put Yin, Yang and both energies together, i.e.: Yin akumas only give powers that create and can only be purified by the miraculous cat, while Yang gives destructive powers and only the miraculous ladybug purifies. Emotion locator is basically echolocation based on people's emotions, and can be used for Akumas and in combat with various enemies.
Mouse Miraculous 🐀
Metal Base
Duusu - Imitation Kwami
His weapon is basically a malleable feather cape.
Sign is the power that forces the target within your field of vision to imitate your movements, where it would only be canceled with the loss of visual contact or external interference. Mimer allows you to copy any skill that you know how it works, from fictional to real.
Pig Miraculous 🐖
Yang Alignment & Wood Base
Mullo - Kwami of proportion
Your weapon is a giant needle
Scale is the change in size, it can be just for him, objects or both.
Rooster Miraculous 🐓
Yin Alignment & Metal Base
Daizzy - Kwami of dream
His weapon is a pair of English punches.
Living creates a hallucination where it can be a person's biggest dream or biggest nightmare, which will stay in their mind constantly reminding them, which is pretty much what the nightomentor does.
Goat Miraculous 🐏
Yang Alignment & Earth Base
Orikko - Kwami of foresight
His weapon is a laminated tonfa.
Alertness is briefly a vision of the future, but only limited to one target.
Ox Miraculous🐂
Yin Alignment & Water Base
Ziggy - Kwami of the opposition
Your weapon is a flute.
Breaker any effect, on itself or on allies, whichever the user chooses, will have the opposite effect to the default, before or after receiving the effect, so a slow effect would be agility and vice versa.
Dog Miraculous🐕
Yang Alignment & Fire Base
Stompp - Kwami of fitness
His weapon is a whip.
The Boost increases the user's or ally's physical attributes to the extreme, but is limited to just one thing, such as strength or speed.
Horse Miraculous 🐎
Yin Alignment & Wood Base
Barkk - Kwami of order
His weapon is a staff.
Order allows the user to create a rule that forces the target to follow, from blocking a skill to forcing a switch of senses. However, it can only be used with non-magical orders, so asking something that has turned to ash to return to its original state wouldn't be possible, just as it couldn't make anything indestructible.
Snake Miraculous 🐍
Yang Alignment & Wood Base
Kalkki - Kwami of migration
His weapon is a rapier.
Instant is the travel upgrade, allowing instant teleportation and use up to 3 times.
Dragon Miraculous 🐉
Yin Alignment & Water Base
Sass - Kwami of intuition
Your weapon is still a lyre.
The second chance is also the same.
Rabbit Miraculous 🐇
Yang Alignment & Earth Base
Longg - Kwami of the dimension
Your weapon is a fan.
Rupture allows the user to enter a dimension that varies from bearer to bearer, where they can enter and manage timelines, where time does not pass, and can only be managed from their year of birth to their year of death. It is not possible to manage other places, only the place where you activated your power, aka city/state.
Tiger Miraculous 🐅
Yin Alignment & Metal Base
Fluffy - Kwami of multiplication
His weapon is a pair of boxing gloves.
Divisor is multiplication, but does not change size.
Monkey Miraculous 🐒
Yang Alignment & Fire Base
Roarr - Kwami of sound
His weapon is a sound gun.
Sound Breaker creates a wave that the user controls the frequency of and which affects electronics and motor functions, basically swapping senses, and depending on the frequency can break anything.
Yin Alignment & Wood Base
Xuppu - Kwami of evolution
His weapon is a ruyi jingu bang.
Upgrading allows you to improve weapons, objects and powers, but it's a double-edged sword, because in addition to choosing 1 upgrade, 1 downgrade is required.

Guys, please help me, I'm still reviewing the powers and I'm rethinking the Canon powers of Tikki and Plagg, because I have some opinions and complete hatred for the way these powers are exploited, like: Lucky Charm, before it was quiet, but after discovering that it changes and always guarantees victory complicates a little, or the cataclysm that sometimes can do things and other times not.
So I'm thinking of creating the powers inspired by types of creation and destruction, and for now I have for destruction: physical and magical destruction, and for creation: spontaneous and derivative, and now I have some ideas, and I'm also accepting for the third power, so if you want to vote, or give any suggestions.

All young characters and their names using the Miraculous Ladybug and cat. Including my 3 ocs, who will probably have a post for each or all, depends on what I manage to compile, since it has a lot of history that I have planned.

Kwami's Form
The forms of the Kwamis are ways to stabilize their body and use powers without the carriers.
Spiritual - it is your most basic and standard form, being the most used, since it limits your powers and stabilizes your body, this form allows you to become intangible and invisible to non-carriers.
Aligned - it is the most autonomous form they can achieve, since they become the beings they represent, but this ends up not allowing the use of their powers. In this form they are visible to everyone.
Statue - they transform into immovable objects that allow camouflage in the midst of society, but still possessing consciousness and being able to talk to their carriers. They can't use their powers.
Trueself - basically the form they showed at the end of re-creation. Full use of powers.
The Kwamis have full control in altering these forms, taking the last form that is required from the bearer.

Did I understand right, Aura can create barriers in any shape and other kind of shapes out of the same matter, like, platforms and stuff? And about Make-believe, you said the illusions become "real" for the person who believes in them, like, they become tangible? Can they cause physical damage?
Ladybug's repair cures Cataclysm and other magic-related destruction, right? Does it cure the destruction caused by the Tiger's power for example? And Cat's repair removes the Lucky Charm-created objects and other kind of created objects, does it also remove objects created by the Turtle or those disappear themselves?
How does the Peacock work? Your description seemed a bit unclear on that.
Basically yes, the only limitation is the imagination of the wearer.
Yes, they become tangible, and they can cause harm, but only to those who believe.
Yes, the Ladybug's repair cure the tiger's destruction, and the Cat's repair cure the Turtle's creation.
Sorry about the description, here we go:
Everything starts with the invocation of an essence, kind of a spirit of some creature, its invocation can be either from the person's imagination, or from some drawing for inspiration, the essences do not have physical forms, but have personality and experiences. Once an essence is invoked, it becomes eternal, that is, hypothetically the bearer wants to invoke a pegasus, but that essence has already been created and then released, that essence will have the experiences of that time, but if it is a new creature, it will have zero experience. As for the Spirit cage, it is basically the link between the essence and the object, being able to use the essence's abilities, but everything depends on the object and material, again hypothetically you invoke the essence of a dragon, it can fly and spit fire, but you only have a ring to put the essence, because it is a small object, compared to the size of the being and the amount of skills, it turns out that the bearer has only 1 skill, fly or spit fire. However, this has some limitations, the "objects" will have consciousness and can turn against the bearer, in case they do not obey him, and they also cannot use more than one skill at the same time, if they have more.

I've finalized a small concept of what the masks of the protagonists, a.k.a. other miraculous holders, not Marinette and Adrien, will look like. Just from the draft, do you have any suspects?

Are the main characters in your AU Ladybug!Ivan and Cat!Kagami / Ladybug!Kagami and Cat!Ivan?
Ah, interesting speculation! In Dimensional Error, surely Kagami is destined to receive a Miraculous, her being in the role of Marinette. As for Ivan, well, he never was and maybe never will be Master Fu's first main choice (considering that the way of choosing will be different from the canonical one). (I'm kinda curious, why these characters?)
(later we'll have a post about Kagami, here's a little spoiler)
Tumblr media
I'm just testing a choice that I'll probably take to the comic or not, which would be to define a color for each character and leave a color palette for each 1, maybe leave everything colored, or grayscale, I'm still looking at that.

You said you are changing the appearance of some characters, but how much will you change?
I'd love to change a lot of characters to give them more diversity and I'll probably do that with some, since initially my ocs were going to be for that, but I want to work with what we have, so I think I have to review that.
For now, I've only changed the size and color of the hair, no skin color or anything like that, although I'm planning to, not to mention changing the nationality of some characters.
It's just that I'm afraid of changing too much to the point where they don't recognize the character at first, so maybe I will, but it's not a confirmation.
Maybe I'll go back to the idea of my ocs and even change the appearance of some characters, I don't know, it'll depend on how different they are from the canon.

So the area affected by the Dragon keeps kind of surreally changing reflecting your mind? Sounds like a creative power, but could you please explain why it is associated with dragons?
About Monkey, so it could "upgrade" objects into a better version of them, like for example a very weak shield into a functional shield, and enhance other people's powers (with equivalent exchange limit, so you can temporarily weaken one teammate to strengthen another or manage to weaken an enemy to strengthen a teammate)?
When I was researching dragons, I found a debate about them, some talked about how chaos would be if they existed, others talking about Japanese culture and few that their pros exist. In this I went to research Japanese culture and found a myth about the dragon always being late, but that was because he was helping others. Just like there were some "bad" dragons. With that I had the idea of the concept of perspective, and how there is a difference both in appearance, powers and stories for each region, for example: the dragon that spits fire is from the West. In short it is due to the diversity itself of dragons that creates this perspective.
About the monkey, I would say that not necessarily, of course the exchange has to be equivalent, but it also has to be in the same type of object / target, so it would be possible to weaken an ally (for probably being a miraculous carrier), but not an enemy (for probably being an akumatized), so it would be carrier by carrier and akumatized by akumatized. Just as it can be done on a target, so as not to overwhelm miraculous.

Who will get a miraculous? Or how many people will get miraculous (I mean, will everyone get 1 miraculous each? or will we have fewer holders, and if so, why?)
Would it be nice for everyone to get a miraculous? It would depend, visually yes, narratively maybe, practicality not so much; I think my protagonists would initially focus on training their first choices and probably switching and getting them used to 2 different miraculous. But with the constant need for new allies and little time to recruit their first choices, I'd say they'd start choosing more people they trust.
I can't say who will win a miraculous, as I'm still organizing and adding the bearers little by little, but 1 who definitely won't have a miraculous, Kim.

Have you updated the miraculous powers yet just asking?
Not yet, still seeing the powers, considering some of them are kinda hard to introduce, so I will change the powers or make a situation for they appear.

how will your AU be? Like, how many seasons, and which episodes are you removing?
Well… my plan is for each season to have around 15 to 17 episodes, I haven't sorted out the number of seasons yet, of course I already have the end of everything, and the end of the first and second season, and not necessarily every episode will have a villain, most do, but we'll have 1 or 3 episodes in each season to develop the characters' personalities and relationships.
My au is a role swap, and considering this, theoretically, it would be a removal of episodes? Of course, that won't always be the case, and we'll have some episodes that couldn't be changed, like: reflekta, since the plot wouldn't make sense with another character.
But we also can't say "let's exclude the episodes I don't like", because I have quite a long list, and many of them are interesting in terms of ideas, but even if they're not very interesting, I can still make the most of the overall plot. However, we could say that we could have a "Dj Wifi" and "Lady Bubble".
For example, episodes like Origins will be divided into 3 parts, but in the organization it will be counted as 2, and the prologue will not be included in the season count.
However, there are some episodes that I could use the idea of, but that we certainly won't have: Animaestro, Antibug and Copycat (another name, same villain, different hero, as far as I can tell), StoneHeart (only the second part), gigantitan (not much I can enjoy), Revanche (lots of spoilers, but Marinette villain), Bakerix and Simplifier (self-explanatory), chameleon, any reakumatization (with a few exceptions), and any child, apart from the puppeteer. Oh, we won't have a silencer (another spoiler, Adrien villain), that's all I can remember now.
About the timeline, I'd give it away, but it would be too much of a spoiler, you know? I think it'll be fun to find out at the time of posting.

Hunting and tracking for the snake... hm, it can work, even if typically more associated with a beast of prey like a wolf or such (I saw several times a wolf miraculous with a tracking power in different people's takes), a snake is also a predator/hunter AND traditionally associated with knowledge AND real snakes have special senses like sharp smell/taste of air, vibration sensing and thermal vision some have, so it works.
What comes to your question on why Kari discarded the Existence duo, I think better can be to ask her, what I know is she wasn't satisfied with them and replaced them with a Beginning and End themed duo. It likely has to do with her idea to classify all kwamis by domains led by the kwamis from the three most powerful duos, which classification she's currently working on.
Exactly, but I've never seen a wolf miraculous, which really suits, but I'd probably put the power related to companionship, maybe forcing an alliance, or imposing superiority on the opponent (since wolves are predators and so on). I see, I'll ask her later.
