On December 1st we venerate Elevated Ancestor & Voodoo Priest Frank Staten aka Prince Ke’eyama on the 25th anniversary of his passing 🕊 [for our Hoodoos of the Vodou Pantheon by way of New Orleans & Haiti]

Prince Ke’eyama was a Healer, Rootworker, & intuitive reader - recognized as the King of New Orleans Voodoo by many for his ;the locals knew him simply as, “The Chicken Man".

Born Frank Staten of Haitian descent, his family relocated from Haiti to New Orleans when he was an infant in the late '30s. Though raised Baptist under the ministry of his grandfather, it was his grandmother who initiated him into Rootwork & introduced him to Haitian Voodoo. Through his grandmother he learned to work the roots & the Lwa in order to help others.

At the age of 9, a revelation changed the course of his life forever. It was then that his grandfather revealed to him that he was blessed with magick & was a Healer. This was amplified by his grandmother's revelation that he was born of royal descent; to a lineage of powerful kings of the past whose legacy was his mantle to carry for the rest of his life. From this moment forward he was given a new name: Prince Ke’eyama.

Under the firm guidance of his grandparents, Ke’eyama developed into a powerful worker. Once his most peel animal spirit totem was revealed to him during meditation & prayer, he began following a strict diet of including chicken in his every meal. Doing so was said to enable him to swallow glass & consume fire unharmed. He'd go on to travel across the States to other Voodoo communities & frequent his roots in Haiti. He was an unmistakable figure in his appearance; locs decorated with feathers & ribbons, his signature straw hat, a long staff, & a big smile. Thus, his reputation & strength blossomed.

It wasn't until the early 70s that Prince Ke’eyama returned to New Orleans & witnessed the tumultuous nature & chaos of rampant drug abuse that swept the city. He was determined to make this is ground zero to answer his life calling of being a Healer. To attract the people, he fell back on an old nightclub act that he'd perform during his adventures on the road. He'd amaze his audiences with his mastery of Voodoo, revealing the power of God. Thus, "The Chicken Man" was born. His shows included: tribal dancing, simple magick, & fire-eating then was climaxed by eating a live chicken raw; he'd bite the head off & drink it’s blood, fixing it's neck into a makeshift straw. Though this reviled many, just as many others perceived this act less about entertainment & more of a sacrifice on the part of Prince Ke’eyama on behalf of everyone present. Those who did began to seek him out for counseling & aid in healing. By making a spectacle of himself, Prince Ke’eyama was able to fulfill his work as a Healer. His shows, counseling, conducting readings, & selling gris-gris etc was his ministry. The streets of New Orleans - particularly the French Quarter - were his congregation. Most people encountered him on the street as The Chicken Man by him intuitively reading them at a distance. By the time he zeroed in on someone, he had already had their prescription in mind. Unlike many priests or workers, he pursued his patients.

He developed a tremendous following in the 70s-80s. Many locals saught him out for his services. And was recognized as a powerful priest by those of the local Voodoo Community practicing what they proclaimed to be “true” Voodoo – most prominently Lady Bianca. Still, many popular vodusi dismissed him as sheer entertainment. This ostricization spurred The Cult of the Chicken Man; secret group of dedicated followers. This became one of the largest secret societies in the city since the time of Voodoo Queen Madame Marie Laveau.

Upon his death in 1998, Prince Ke’eyama's ashes were donated to the Voodoo Spiritual Temple in New Orleans where they remain enshrined by Sister Miriam Chamani.

We pour libations & give 💐 today as we celebrate him for his dedicated healing work, imparting the wisdom of his & the collective of ancestral elders through his teachings, & for being a symbolic lesson of what it means to be a product of self-determination in the wake of Maafa.

Women’s history just richer.

Since its discovery in 2008, the skeleton of a high-ranking individual buried inside a tomb in the Iberian Peninsula between 3,200 and 2,200 years ago was thought to be the remains of a man. However, a new analysis reveals that this person was actually a woman.

Archaeologists in Spain dubbed the woman the "Ivory Lady" based on the bounty of grave goods found alongside her skeleton, including an ivory tusk surrounding her skull, flint, an ostrich eggshell, amber and a rock crystal dagger, according to a study published Thursday (July 6) in the journal Scientific Reports. For more than a decade, archaeologists believed that this individual was a man, even nicknaming him the "Ivory Merchant."

The first anthrological report determined that the individual was most likely male based on an analysis of the pelvis," study co-author Leonardo García Sanjuán, a professor of prehistory at the University of Seville in Spain, told Live Science. Because the skeleton's pelvic region wasn't well preserved, this new group of researchers used a different method to analyze the remains: They conducted an amelogenin peptide analysis of the skeleton's tooth enamel to see if it contained the AMELX gene, which is located on the X chromosome (one of the two sex chromosomes found in humans), according to a statement. They detected AMELX after testing two of the teeth. "This analysis told us precisely that the skeleton was female," García Sanjuán said.

While not much is known about who this woman was, the archaeologists think that at one time, she was the "highest-ranked person" in this particular society, García Sanjuán said. "During this time period, we were starting to see new forms of leadership in Western European societies," he said. "She was a leader who existed before kings and queens, and her status wasn't inherited, meaning that she was a leader based on her personal achievements, skills and personality." Her tomb is a rare example of a single-occupancy burial in this region, which provides further evidence of her high status during the Iberian Copper Age (2900 B.C. to 2650 B.C.). "The burial is special because it contains only one individual and isn't a [mass grave] with commingled bones," he said. "When we compared the grave goods with our database [of more than 2,000 grave sites in the area], we can clearly see that this woman stood head and shoulders above other individuals in terms of wealth and social status."

For instance, a nearby lavish Copper Age tomb holds the remains of at least 15 women; this grave may have been constructed to hold individuals who claimed descent from the Ivory Lady, the researchers said. Other burials in southern Spain, particularly of infants interred without grave goods, further reveals that during the Copper Age birthright didn't determine social status. The location of her tomb also provides insight into the ancient society that once resided there, according to the study. "In the last 15 years we've come to learn that this site was important and was the largest civilization site in Iberia," he said. "We think that this was a central gathering place that connected people from afar. It makes full sense that the Ivory Lady would be buried here."

This isn't the first time archaeologists have assigned a skeleton the wrong biological sex. "There have been other instances in which buried individuals were classified as male or female based on the assumptions of certain grave goods being given to men and women," he said. "This is a poor scientific practice and a cautionary tale."

History/Life: Elijah Kaufman is a close familial friend to the Schuyler family and military veteran. Having formerly served in the Scout Regiment most of his career, he transferred to the Military Police after sustaining a severe leg injury in the front lines. Originally born in Dauper, he lived out in the woods with his father Johnny, who was a con artist taking part in shady businesses involving selling stolen ODM-gear, and his mother Edith left them when Elijah was two. Johnny loved his son more than anything, and much to the surprise of many considering the reputation Johnny had as the local drunk and gambler with blood on his hands, he was very doting towards him. He taught Elijah how to grow up tough and rarely punished him when he got into trouble; this gave Elijah a sense of superiority and why he grew up believing he could get away with anything. To further advance their shady business, Johnny and Elijah fled to Trost with forged identification cards and to start up a whole new life. Elijah had adapted fairly quickly, but often kept to himself whilst Johnny was running the business, and it wasn’t easy for him making friends with the local children considering he wasn’t the nicest boy. One day as he was exploring the town, he tried to steal some apples only to be caught by the shop owner. Before he was struck, a young boy named Dawson Schuyler witnessed this and quickly intervened and offered to pay, and Elijah was able to avoid getting into trouble. Dawson bought more food for him shortly after and introduced himself, and offered for him to join in on a game of catch with him and his friends. At first apprehensive, Elijah eventually decided to join in, and this began a strong friendship between Elijah and Dawson; he was shortly introduced to Dawson’s friend group, Dwight Oglethorpe, Matilda Windsor, and Miriam Florence. Elijah was infatuated with Matilda and Miriam the moment he met them, and there were times he would act quite flirty towards the both of them—Miriam always assumed he was being friendly and was very soft-spoken so she never spoke up about it, but Matilda immediately made him back off as it made both of them uncomfortable (since then, he never really liked Matilda since she was, in his words, a “loud mouth”)—despite the fact that Dwight and Matilda were already together and that Dawson and Miriam had strong feelings for each other. Dwight and Dawson had to get involved and have a firm talk with him about respecting their boundaries. Despite his unpleasant behavior, his friends have tried many, many times to give him a chance in hopes that he would change for the better, and over time he had begun to change thanks to Dawson's influence.

When he was twelve, Johnny was caught by the Military Police and arrested. Elijah feared he would be put in an orphanage as he had no other family. Dawson convinced his own family to take Elijah in to avoid being taken away, as he did not want to see his friend struggle to survive with no one else to turn to. Luckily, his family was sympathetic enough to take the boy in, and they became practically like brothers. Elijah never had any set goals for the future until Dawson began to tell him about his dream to join the Scout Regiment and go on adventures on the outside. The thought of glory and gaining fortune for such an intense task sparked Elijah’s interest. It wouldn’t be long until the two signed up for the Cadet Corps and graduated at the top of their class, and together they enlisted into the Scout Regiment just as they had promised. The harsh reality of what awaited outside the walls weighed heavily on Elijah, and he had experienced many close calls and had to witness the gruesome deaths of fellow soldiers. But he prospered on being Dawson’s right hand man when he was eligible to form his own squad unit, and he continued to fight on. Over the years, his drinking would become increasingly worse to numb himself of what he had to experience. 

Dawson and Miriam were already married before they joined the Scouts, and he was there with the family for the birth of all four of their children—Nathanael, Tay, and twins Corine and Clovis. Dawson and Miriam considered Elijah as a part of the family, and the kids loved him so much and looked forward to him coming over for their visits, referring to him as “Uncle Eli.”

However, he was not the man the Schuylers’ thought he was. He saw Dawson’s perfect life, watched him marry the woman he wanted and have four children with her. He was oh-so perfect that Elijah envied him for it. It sickened him. 

One rainy day on the 36th expedition outside of the walls, Elijah accidentally separated himself from his squad, and as a result he was caught by an abnormal titan, his horse getting killed in the process. He frantically tried to escape the titan’s firm grasp as it had bitten down on his leg, but before his leg was entirely bitten off, Dawson arrived just in time to rescue him. Despite what he had done, Elijah remembered all Dawson had stolen from him: The woman he desired, letting him have a family of his own, and now getting him in a what he now sees as a suicide mission. Elijah had finally snapped and attacked him, not realizing the titan horde that was quickly approaching their way. He was able to knock him down and choked Dawson so hard that he damaged his larynx so he was unable to scream or breathe. When he realized there were titans coming after them, Elijah stole his gear and left him behind, and didn’t look back as the titans tore his best friend apart. He fabricated what happened when he told his comrades that Dawson died trying to save him. However, anyone who really knew Elijah would know he was a coward, but they could never prove he could have had anything to do with it. 

Elijah transferred out of the scouts and into the Military Police on recommendation. He would often patrol Wall Rose so he could stay close to Miriam and the kids when they were grieving. Because of his injury on duty, he walked with a limp and carried a cane with him. His leg would begin to heal over time to the point where, minus some soreness, he wouldn’t have to rely on his cane, and he would often use his injury as an excuse to spend his day sitting around and not having to work as much and gain sympathy from others. His drinking problem would continue to get worse, and most of his income went into gambling and whatever money he did have left to relieve his needs with women. To make extra cash, he started trading ODM-gear parts in the black market, just like his father had, and taking money from his niece knowing that she wouldn't have the heart to tell him no. It wasn't until after he had lashed out on Tay that the Schuyler family had finally cut all contact with him.

He was one of the MP’s to work alongside Kenny Ackerman in the Anti-Personnel Control Squad and conspired with the kidnapping of Eren Yeager and the true heir of the Reiss family Historia. Considering Elijah has had run-ins with Eren and knowing Tay had feelings for him, he was quite thrilled in taking part in the possibility of getting rid of Eren once and for all. He forced Nathanael to help them with the threat of harming his family if he didn’t. Everything fell apart when Elijah, in his drunken state, had let it slip to Kenny that he left Dawson to die. Nathanael would later betray him and fight back with the Scouts’ aid.

Elijah wouldn’t end up getting away from the sins of his past for very long. For many years, he had hurt and taken advantage of so many people who never hesitated to help him when he was in any trouble. Yet, he still believed that he was owed something and never took a moment to realize what he had until it was too late. In the end, his own mistakes would be his downfall.

my brain agonizes me every day about latching onto rezaren and here's the thing. here's the thing I dislike most about how he was written: he was an inconsistent and rushed character. the inconsistency was the worst part and I could go on forever.

he starts as the morally questionable guy right? the show leads you to believe he's grey in morality- willing to fight a spirit for what he believes is right, manipulative but still caring. the first major hint of the backstory/flashbacks we see is rezaren crying. crying asking what miriam has done in the bloody scene. and that hits like a "holy shit there's more to it

then they open up with the brother/sister thing when they finally meet. still incredibly interesting- a villain who platonically loves the mc? who cares about them but in the wrong way and does the wrong things because of it but overarchingly loves them? amazing.

then in episode four, they build it up. the flashbacks point to rezaren having an idealistic idea of their past and miriam being rightfully very angry. we see it from his eyes, them laughing and playing together. then we see what rezaren ignored. he deflects this by saying he was a child and couldn't protect them- a fair point if we infer his mother was abusive towards, which we can infer from the harrowing "no ammosine has failed" part. he could apologize. he does not. miriam brings up the harrowing as her trump card- extremely strange to me in terms of narration because it portrays rezaren in a...not bad light? his mom is the aggressor, he's just shown as younger and weak and helpless. it doesn't match the buildup

there is a very clear snapping point where redemption is no longer an option for him: when he loses his temper at miriam. the switch is jarring, very jarring, at first, but it's okay. it would have been preferred if he was redeemed but it's not necessary, he could still be an amazing pure evil character.

...and then he's not. he goes far too quickly into too much evil- they set him up for a descent to madness and then go from one scene of "i won't use blood magic tassia don't worry" to "watch me publicly kill this guy on my own team".

when his character is really messed up is the finale. when he decides to go super sayan racist mode and be like "i'm going to enslave you bitch kys" but is STILL TRYING TO RESURRECT NEB. perhaps he's delusional but they don't explain that!! if he's angry with miriam now, if he's fully evil now, his character motivation is gone. it cannot be "i want to resurrect my 'brother' and have a happy family again" because if he's going to turn on miriam in this way he should have no reason to keep trying with the circulum.

the show had so many places it could have solidified him as a villain- a true villain like he was supposed to look like at the end. they could have, say, shown him mistreating miriam or slaves. or shown him owning slaves. because we don't have any idea if the slaves in the summer palace are his- and they're probably not because he doesn't even live in that city. the palace is in Nessum, and he explicitly tells Tassia "don't worry queen i can't keep doing evil blood magic study because soon I have to go back to Minrathous".

they could have made him a descent into madness character- which is totally thrown off by the whole "hey don't get too deep into blood magic" "*kills people*" swapup. so now people can basically paint things however they want- because a lot of the "proof" for him being a certain way is inferences. justified, reasonable inferences, but inferences nevertheless and the show is just badly paced. and so we have people differing from "if you like rezaren you're a slaver" to "actually his enslavement was good and miriam is the real villian" and it's just. aagg. they were all good and bad characters!! liking a fictional character does not mean you agree with them. agony agony agony. anyways sorry for my 9 paragraph essay in your ask box but I am Tormented By Thots and your rezaren post reminded me of the queercoded little man who would call me slurs if I ever breathed the same air as him (he has 55 limp wrists and two arms. and it's no coincidence the show censored the only heterosexual kiss him and tassia have to be fruity at least just a bit)

Wow first of all thank you for taking the time to read my post and giving me your insights. I was fully viewing this in terms of what we see in the show but reading this, I must say a lot of aspects of how he was written also came into play. I loved the show and it's characters and I think it's biggest flaw is it's length since a lot of things had to be rushed and couldn't get explored on a deeper level.

He is definitely presented as a rather grey character and I think it's thanks to all of these sudden shifts that the fandom is very divided, since we didn't get to explore more about him and his other motivations or actions in the past we can merely judge him by what we see, and only what we are shown. From the start he did seem a bit manipulative, hiding true intentions behind the so called kindness, yet as the show progressed I couldn't help rooting for him, like you said: the harrowing scene doesn't show him in a bad light. He was completely helpless and in danger himself, the choice to use Neb was his mother's and I do believe she was also abusive to him. Sure not in the same way as Miriam got abused but you can see how fearful he was. When they were kids he was taught that slavery was normal and okay, yet we see an adult that wants to change that, he recognizes his mistakes.

The snapping did feel rushed and out of nowhere, and you're right. I hadn't noticed how conflicted his motivations are during the show. Perhaps it is indeed flawed writing but I think if we can find a logical explanation, it would point to the circulum itself. Tassia openly says that the thing is changing Rezaren, and she has known him for a while. Again, we haven't seen anything else from his past so nothing we can really base ourselves on. He seems to know blood magic and as far as we know he was always in control using it. Why did it change now? I blame the circulum, mixed of course with his desires being frustrated. Miriam was algo blinded by rage, both were equally stubborn and wanted to do something yet they sought a different purpose with different means and I can love and appreciate both. I just indeed dislike the discussion about Rezaren being a slaver, because imo he definitely isn't.

Miriam Pataki: Miriam is Olgo and Helgo's mother, wife of Bob the shipowner of "Big Bob's Electronics Emporium". Thanks to Arnelle, Helgo and Olgo's support, she managed to graduate online course of scenario/producing major within a year, able to become a Producing Director. According to herself, she pointed out how Helgo's flustered and awkwardly nice behaviors around Arnelle reminded her of Bob, only her husband is less poetic but showing affection in his own grumpy yet heartfelt way.

Robert "Big Bob" Pataki: Robert, usually known as "Big Bob", is Olgo and Helgo's father, husband of Miriam. He is the owner and manager of "Big Bob's Electronics Emporium". Ukrainian descent, he has light Slavic accent and is usually seen with frowned glare. Height of 2 meters tall, he is the tallest in Pataki's and a very muscular individual due to his frequent use of fitness center. He favored Olgo Pataki because the lad resembles his wife very much and out of guilt that he held restrained her from her potential due to pregnancy in tender age of 20. Although occasionally portrayed as inattentive father, he struggles to interact with Helgo who was born unplanned and share striking similarities with himself, except for the blond hair and blue eyes. When he heard Olgo and Mai had a child before marriage, it was first time he struck his firstborn; furious and frightful of possibility that Olgo would make same mistake he and Miriam had. This led to heart-to-heart talk with his two sons, the one dysfunctional family began to change. The New York man who was caught on video punching an elderly Asian woman more than 100 times earlier this year pleaded guilty Tuesday to a hate crime charge, officials announced. 

Tammel Esco, 42, pleaded guilty to first-degree assault as a hate crime, a violent felony, said a statement from the Westchester County District Attorney’s office.

In a plea deal, he'll be sentenced on Nov. 29 to 17 1/2 years in state prison and five years of post-release supervision, the statement said.

The plea comes seven months after the brutal March 11 attack, in which Esco called the 67-year-old victim, a woman of Filipino descent, an “Asian b----."

He approached her from behind as she entered her apartment building on Riverdale Avenue in Yonkers, knocked her to the ground, punched her more than 100 times in and around her head, repeatedly stomped on her body and spit on her, the district attorney’s office said. 

Video surveillance from the apartment showed she was punched 125 times, in what Yonkers Police Commissioner John J. Mueller called “one of the most appalling attacks I have ever seen.” 

Esco was arrested the same day and has been held without bail since the attack. 

The victim was transported to Westchester Medical Center and was treated for bleeding on her brain, multiple facial fractures, and bruising and lacerations to the head and face, the district attorney's office said.

Esco lived in the same building as his victim and police said he has a criminal record and previously served time for assault, NBC New York reported.  

Esco was being represented by the Westchester Legal Aid Society. NBC News has reached out for comment.

Westchester County District Attorney Miriam Rocah touted the plea as a victory against hate, saying: “Today’s agreement secures justice for the brave victim who endured the shocking attack and its aftermath, and for a community impacted by the trauma of this hate-driven violence.”

"I want to assure every community in Westchester County that my office will use every resource at our disposal to fight hate and hold perpetrators accountable," she added.

Mary and Miriam: A Brief(?) History and Overview

(Regarding characters from Batman: The Animated Series episodes “Baby Doll” and “Love is a Croc.”) During Mary’s time as a recluse, she met Miriam by a complete fluke. While her groceries were being delivered, Mary got in a bit of a bind and ultimately called out for help. The delivery woman, unaware of the level of danger or time to spare, kicked down the unknown resident’s door to aid her. Afterwards, Miriam kept watch while Mary’s door was repaired, as to not leave her vulnerable. During these few hours, the two ultimately found ways to relate, but parted ways after. The two believed they would go back to their previous lives as usual. Over time, however, there were sprinkles of small interactions between the two. These small interactions slowly turned into full on visits and the two became great friends. Miriam witnessed Mary’s descent into Baby Doll. She believed Mary needed help, but couldn’t convince her to get it. She feared reporting her friend and putting her in danger of Arkham Asylum or losing her friendship. Instead, she helped Mary the best she could, eventually partaking in the fantasy in the hopes of getting it out of her system. Mary only grew worse and began her plans to kidnap her former costars, to which Miriam objected. When it became clear Mary was going through with her plans whether she participated or not, Miriam joined in the scheme. In Miriam’s eyes, this scenario was going to happen whether she was involved or not. Wanting to stick to Mary and make sure she was safe, Miriam became involved in the plans. After Mary’s plans were thwarted and Miriam was arrested, the two lost contact. Mary was committed to Arkham Asylum while Miriam was bailed out of jail by her mother. Miriam was then kept on an agonizingly short leash by her mother. This, combined with the belief that she was partially at fault for Mary’s descent, led to Miriam leaving Mary Dahl alone. During their two or so years apart, Miriam believed that Mary was doing better without her. She knew Mary had been released from Arkham and decided to let her live her life without the woman who aided her in her crimes. Mary, believing Miriam despised her for getting her arrested, decided to leave Miriam alone. Upon seeing Baby Doll and Killer Croc in the news, Miriam feared she made a mistake in leaving Mary alone. After Mary was recommitted to Arkham Asylum, Miriam was quick to visit her. While it wasn’t the smoothest reunion, the two ultimately rekindled their friendship over multiple visits. It took Mary time to recover enough to be released, but when she was, Miriam welcomed the blonde into her home to keep her safe, offer support, and help her back onto her feet. Mary’s recovery was not a straight line, but Miriam stuck with her every step of the way. The two became very close over this time and, when it reached the point Mary could live on her own, they decided to simply stay sharing a living space. Miriam and Mary are best friends to this day.

Been thinking about a Horizon tarot lately (at least of the major arcana). Here's kind of where I'm at so far? I think it would be too ambitious of a project for me to illustrate, but it's fun to think about, at least.

The Fool - Child Aloy

Maybe even child Aloy tumbling into the ruins in the Embrace. Something that marks the very beginning of her journey.

The Magician - Alva

Playing on Alva's role as a Diviner, and the energy she brings to move Aloy forward in her quest. I picture her scanning data files with a flourish that's reminiscent of a magician casting a spell.

The High Priestess - Elisabet

Our elusive heroine, whom Aloy constantly looks to as a guide. I can picture Lis standing stoically, maybe even one hand resting protectively on a Grazer (or a similar predecessor from Miriam).

The Empress - GAIA

A representation of Mother Earth, GAIA seems like a fitting avatar of the Empress. She has a calm majesty that awes the whole GAIA gang. Think of Varl's respectful bow!

The Emperor - Rost

I know Avad, being literally an Emperor, could be a good fit, but I think Rost is a better choice. As Aloy's father figure, he brings positive masculine energy and stability to her life as a child.

The Hierophant - Kotallo

I struggled with this one! I feel like there isn't a great character to counterbalance Elisabet as the High Priestess here. I feel like his role as a Marshal, and his ties to Tenakth tradition, could potentially make him a good candidate for this card.

The Lovers - Varl and Zo? Elisabet and Tilda?

The obvious part of me is like "oh Varl and Zo, being canonically lovers, could be great here," but the lesbian part of me thinks Lis and Tilda could be fun too.

The Chariot - Aloy on a mount

I'm leaning towards a Sunwing, with the sun shining behind them.

Strength - Either Talanah, or Aloy with her spear

I like the idea of representing Talanah as strength — she's fierce! But Aloy with her spear would be just as fitting for this role.

The Hermit - Sylens

This is another one that just feels obvious. I'm thinking Sylens holding Hades within the lantern, either atop a dune or a snowy mountain.

Wheel of Fortune - Aloy in the Sun Ring? Maybe a motif with her falling/fighting charging behemoths? Or maybe even Talanah ascending to Sun Hawk?

Something that shows a cycle of descent and ascent works here, so I think either visualization could potentially work.

Justice - Avad

I think Avad is a fair and just ruler who strives for balance, and can see him exemplifying this role. I think a sword or scepter and scales would be a fitting image for him.

The Hanged Man - Ersa

Another one I struggled with! I feel like the imagery just kind of works here, to be honest.

Death - Ikrie

Feels like a perfect representation of Ikrie's story in Frozen Wilds, and her personal growth.

Temperance - Zo

Zo is patient, wise, and balanced. She feels like a natural fit for this card.

The Devil - Ted Faro

Fuck Ted Faro and his creepy harem tomb! I picture him shadowed with silhouettes of his machines in the background.

The Tower - The Spire

I think the imagery works well here, but also the Spire's role in Zero Dawn as a tool of Hades to resurrect the Faro Plague kind of fits with the Tower. It's a complicated structure, okay.

The Star - Erend

I struggled with this, originally thinking maybe I'd put Varl here, but I like the imagery of Erend rising from the struggles and trauma of Zero Dawn and charging into the future with optimism and strength. I want to see him grow in the third game!

The Moon - Beta

Beta's fear and anxiety, tied to her experiences growing up, makes her a good fit for the Moon, IMO.

The Sun - Varl

Varl's optimism and faith in Aloy brings positive strength to the entire team. He's a voice of hope and possibility. I just picture his beaming smile.

Judgement - Hekarro

I like the image of Hekarro uniting the Tenakth here and his message of unity for this card.

The World - Either a holo of the Earth, or Elisabet's pendant

Let's not get too abstract here.

Don't know if I'll do anything with this, but it was fun to think about. Would love to hear other takes.
