Silly jokes aside,

Drew this based on the Lewis chess set from the British Museum ( apparently the remaining pieces are in the National Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh) ^^ the pieces are from the 12th century and carved from walrus ivory and whale's teeth. Apparently they were crafted in Norway. Tried my best to get accurate references and keeping the style of the pieces ^^ can't guarantee the exact accuracy tho lol still was stupidly fun to do

Based on a Cypriot terracotta statue from the Bronze Age, although expert say it’s likely of Syrian origin ^^ the piece I’ve referenced is in the MET but apparently is not in display

Is not accurate though ^^’ I’m sadly not a scholar xD just a silly ancient history nerd but I took many creative freedoms , the cats included lol

More art inspired by stuff I'm fascinated with ajshdhd I've always been so intrigued in the symbol of the snake and reptiles through so many different civilizations and how also they were given human qualities^^ the power of symbols remaining in our subconscious as time keeps ticking asjdndi fascinating shdndj

Based on the Ubaid lizard people figurines, from Pre-Sumeria (Ubaid Period, c. 5500-4000 BC) of course I've taken many liberties in my illustration, it's been a very fun design challenge too D

My boyfriend and I but in the Eneolithic ^^ got inspired (but is not accurate, tried to mix best with the ref images I found ^^ )while reading about Cucuteni-Trypillia culture (now Romania as for the Cucuteni and Ukraine Trypillia)

It is said it's one of the first civilizations in Europe ^^
