another update on the oil paint thing: tried again yesterday, with a mask on, and it was fine. but I've decided I'm not going to try to figure this out right now - I've got to start packing up our stuff, so it's not the best time to do that. and we'll be staying with my in-laws for two months until we can move into the new apartment (😭😭😭) and I guess it wouldn't be the best idea to use them there, anyway. so they're in a box now and I'll try again when we've moved in and everything.

so I painted with acrylics again tonight and damn, it's so much easier to focus when your entire face doesn't feel like it's on fire :) so yeah I'm sticking with that for now. also it probably wouldn't help that I've got no patience whatsoever. should have thought about that before, but oh well 🤷
