#MeToo : पूर्व केंद्रीय मंत्री एमजे अकबर द्वारा दायर मानहानि याचिका खारिज, पत्रकार प्रिया रमानी बरी

चैतन्य भारत न्यूज पूर्व केंद्रीय मंत्री एमजे अकबर द्वारा पत्रकार प्रिया रमानी के खिलाफ दायर मानहानि केस को दिल्ली की राउज एवेन्यू कोर्ट ने खारिज करते हुए उन्हें बरी कर दिया है। कोर्ट ने अपने फैसले में कहा कि महिला को दशकों के बाद भी अपनी शिकायत रखने का अधिकार है। इसके साथ ही राउज एवेन्यू कोर्ट ने मानहानि केस में प्रिया रमानी को बरी कर दिया है। कोर्ट ने क्या कहा? कोर्ट ने कहा, 'यौन शोषण आत्मसम्मान और आत्मविश्वास को ख़त्म कर देता है, किसी व्यक्ति की प्रतिष्ठा की सुरक्षा किसी के सम्मान की क़ीमत पर नहीं की जा सकती है, महिलाओं के पास दशकों बाद भी अपनी शिकायत रखने का अधिकार है, सामाजिक प्रतिष्ठा वाला व्यक्ति भी यौन शोषण कर सकता है।' राउज एवेन्यू कोर्ट ने कहा, 'पीड़ित को कई साल तक यह नहीं पता था कि उसके साथ क्या हो रहा है। महिला को अपने साथ हुए अपराध के बारे में कभी भी और कहीं भी अपने बात रखने का अधिकार है। दशकों के बाद भी महिला अपने के खिलाफ हुए अपराध के खिलाफ आवाज उठा सकती है। महिला को यौन शोषण अपराध के खिलाफ आवाज उठाने पर सजा नहीं दी जा सकती है।' कोर्ट ने कहा कि, 'समाज को यह समझना होगा कि महिलाओं पर यौन उत्पीड़न का कैसा असर होता है। इस तरह का उत्पीड़न गरिमा के खिलाफ है और यह आत्मविश्वास छीन लेता है। व्यक्तिगत गरिमा की कीमत पर किसी की छवि को बनाए नहीं रखा जा सकता। जो व्यक्ति सोशल स्टेटस रखता है, वह भी यौन उत्पीड़न कर सकता है। इस बात को नजरअंदाज नहीं किया जा सकता कि यौन उत्पीड़न के ज्यादातर मामले बंद दरवाजों के पीछे होते हैं।' कोर्ट ने कहा, 'संविधान ने अनुच्छेद 21 और समानता का अधिकार दिया है। प्रिया रमानी को अपनी पसंद के प्लेटफॉर्म पर आपबीती बताने का पूरा हक था। रामायण में सीता की मदद के लिए जटायु आगे आए थे। जब लक्ष्मण से भी सीता के बारे में बताने को कहा गया था तो उन्होंने कहा था कि उनकी नजर कभी सीता जी के पैरों से ऊपर ही नहीं गई। भारतीय मूल्यों में महिलाओं के प्रति सम्मान का यह एक उदाहरण है। शर्म की बात है कि महिलाओं के खिलाफ ऐसे देश में अपराध हो रहे हैं, जहां महिलाओं के सम्मान को लेकर महाभारत और रामायण लिखी जा चुकी है।' ये है मामला दरअसल, 2018 में जब देश में #MeToo कैम्पेन शुरू हुआ था, तब रमानी ने एमजे अकबर पर यौन उत्पीड़न करने का आरोप लगाया था। प्रिया रमानी ने जिस घटना का हवाला दिया था, वह करीब 20 साल पुरानी थी और तब अकबर भी पत्रकार थे। 20 साल बाद जब रमानी ने उनके नाम का खुलासा किया, तब अकबर मोदी सरकार में विदेश राज्य मंत्री बन चुके थे। रमानी के बाद करीब 20 महिला पत्रकारों ने अकबर पर छेड़खानी के आरोप लगाए थे। यौन उत्पीड़न के आरोपों के चलते 17 अक्टूबर 2018 को अकबर को मंत्री पद छोड़ना पड़ा। अकबर ने इसके बाद रमानी के खिलाफ मानहानि का केस किया था। Read the full article

Priya Ramani gives statement in MJ Akbar’s defamation case

Journalist Priya Ramani told to a Delhi court that the deactivation of her twitter account was not deliberate to destroy the evidence. She was giving her statement in a defamation case filed by former Union Minister M J Akbar. Ramani denied the remark that her tweets led others to comment to the extent of lowering the reputation of Akbar.

Tanushree Dutta made the first dent in patriarchy's wall - Women in India have been fighting for their rightful place in society for decades; to study in the right schools and colleges, to be able to sit for competitive exams, to walk safely on roads, to work in safer offices that protect their integrity and not endanger it, to break the shackles of patriarchy. Women have been fighting for a place that is not beneath the man but with him, beside him. This struggle grew fiercer with former actress and model Tanushree Dutta's voice. Her story about sexual harassment was the same as a decade ago: Nana Patekar harassed her in 2008 (Dutta was all of 24 back then, while Patekar was 57) on the sets of Horn Ok Pleassss. But there was a twist to the story this time around. Even as her allegations bought on a mind-numbing mix of criticism and doubt, Dutta received solidarity and belief — things that were denied to her the first time around. This time, though, people weren't quick to taint her. For every "she is doing it for the publicity, she has no work, she is lying", there were dozens of "I believe you". And perhaps that is all she wanted. the movement hadn't even taken shape as #MeToo. But she opened up about the ordeals of speaking up. "I would have done just fine by myself. I don't need a clutch to get publicity. Who really are these people to taint my claims like that!" she had exclaimed. She also recognised the need for a unanimous support system early on. "For how long will I fight this by myself? More and more women should come out with their stories. Only then can we bring about a change in this patriarchal set-up," she had said. Armed with a belief in herself, Dutta spearheaded an uprising against the hush-hush politics of sexual harassment at the workplace. Within hours of her first interview with a channel, women were ousting predators on social media. Women used the same anonymity that was used against them as a weapon. Men in powerful positions across sector were felled — former minister of external affairs and journalist MJ Akbar, Queen director and one-part of the Phantom production trio, Vikas Bahl, and Flipkart CEO Binny Bansal to name a few. All it took was for a spark, and Dutta provided it. Tanushree’s Trauma The actress and model alleged that Nana Patekar, 33 years her senior, harassed her in 2008 on the sets of Horn Ok Pleassss. 'Women take money to drop MeToo allegations' : Congress MLA

When the MeToo movement is being hailed as a strong fight against provocation went for ladies, a Congress MLA has started debate by saying that ladies informers regularly drop their charges by accepting money as compensation.

Govind Singh, veteran Congress leader in MP, welcomed ire when he downplayed the ongoing MeToo movement and scrutinized the goal with which women are leveling charges against the accused. "There are numerous examples of MeToo in our towns. The influenced ladies take money to drop the whole case and many are misusing it to serve their own advantages," he allegedly said. The comments are probably going to leave Congress embarrassed particularly since the party demanded the acquiescence of MJ Akbar as union minister following claims of sexual behavior made against him. Party president Rahul Gandhi too has communicated solidarity with women who have described stories of horror. उत्तर प्रदेश के वाराणसी में प्रवासी भारतीय दिवस की शुरुआत हो गई है. लेकिन कार्यक्रम के पहले ही दिन विवाद हो गया. दरअसल, यहां पर आयोजकों की ओर से बांटी जा रही फोटो बुकलेट में पूर्व विदेश राज्य मंत्री एमजे अकबर का फोटो भी छपा हुआ है, जिसको लेकर सोशल मीडिया पर काफी आलोचना की जा रही है. बता दें कि एमजे अकबर ने #MeToo अभियान के दौरान लगे यौन उत्पीड़न के आरोपों के बाद दबाव के बीच मंत्री पद से इस्तीफा दे दिया था.

प्रवासी भारतीय दिवस वाराणसी में 21 जनवरी से 23 जनवरी तक आयोजित किया जा रहा है. यहां दुनियाभर से पहुंचे प्रतिनिधिमंडल को एक बुकलेट दी जा रही है, जिसमें केंद्र की नरेंद्र मोदी सरकार की उपलब्धियां गिनाई जा रही हैं. इस बुकलेट में एमजे अकबर को अभी भी विदेश राज्य मंत्री बताया गया है.

इसी बुकलेट के कवर पर प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी, विदेश मंत्री सुषमा स्वराज, विदेश राज्य मंत्री वीके सिंह के साथ पूर्व मंत्री एमजे अकबर की तस्वीर चस्पा है. आपको बता दें कि 2016 में एमजे अकबर ने बतौर विदेश राज्यमंत्री पद की शपथ ली थी, लेकिन बीते साल चले #MeTooMovement के दौरान कई महिला पत्रकारों ने उनपर यौन उत्पीड़न करने का आरोप लगाया था.

जिसके बाद विपक्ष की ओर से सरकार पर एमजे अकबर को हटाने का दबाव बनाया गया था, और एमजे अकबर ने अपने पद से इस्तीफा दे दिया था.

बीते साल अक्टूबर में सबसे पहले वरिष्ठ पत्रकार प्रिया रमानी ने उनपर यौन उत्पीड़न का आरोप लगाया था. जिसके बाद एक-एक करीब करीब 20 महिला पत्रकारों ने एमजे अकबर के खिलाफ मोर्चा खोल दिया था. एमजे अकबर का ये मामला कोर्ट तक पहुंचा था, जिसके बाद उन्होंने इस्तीफा दे दिया था.

तीन दिन चलेगा प्रवासी भारतीय दिवस

गौरतलब है कि प्रवासी भारतीय दिवस का आयोजन पहली बार वाराणसी में हो रहा है. सोमवार को विदेश मंत्री सुषमा स्वराज, उत्तर प्रदेश के मुख्यमंत्री योगी आदित्यनाथ की मौजूदगी में इसकी शुरुआत हुई. प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी 22 जनवरी को औपचारिक तौर पर इस कार्यक्रम की शुरुआत करेंगे. ये कार्यक्रम 23 जनवरी तक चलेगा.

प्रवासी भारतीय दिवस के बाद सभी प्रतिनिधियों को कुंभ मेले का दर्शन कराने और 26 जनवरी को गणतंत्र दिवस की परेड दिखाने भी ले जाया जाएगा.
