(MK1/12) Kitana and Mileena Headcanons

Kitana:

-Kitana likes Raiden but doesn’t want to pursue a relationship because of their different lifespans.

-She was unintentionally compared to her sister because she wasn’t as interested in combat and was weaker than Mileena.

-She had a small crush on Liu Kang for a couple of years (nothing came of it).

-Kitana is interested in traveling to Earthrealm and experiencing the culture, especially after watching some movies Johnny recommended.

-Kitana chose the fan as her weapon because it matched her more defensive fighting style, but added the blades on the ends for offensive purposes.

-She is very apprehensive of Tanya because she comforted and helped Mileena through her breakups. Kitana sees how much her sister loves Tanya and doesn’t want to see her get it hurt.

-After Jerrod’s death, Kitana became the mediator of Sindel and Mileena’s arguments. She often wonders how he did it so well.

-Her and Sindel had a closer relationship because there was no pressure to train Kitana to be the next Empress and their different personalities matched well. They would often have tea or plant flowers in the gardens.

-The idea of Kitana being Empress became more favorable after her frequent visits to the cities and helping citizens when needed. Her compassion became well renowned.

-As children, Mileena would call her “Kitty”.

Mileena:

-Along with Li Mei, Mileena was trained by General Shao since their brutal fighting styles matched. The two were close when Mileena was a child and young teen but it faded when Shao grew resentful towards Sindel and Jerrod’s rule.

-She’s had multiple secret affairs throughout her teens and early adulthood. They usually ended after Mileena learned she was being taken advantage of or a mutual break up because betrothment was not possible.

-Mileena was a troublemaker and would sneak out multiple times without anyone knowing until she contracted Tarkat from one of those outings.

-Her relationship with Tanya began after Jerrod’s death and Tanya comforted her during the grieving process.

-Mileena came out to Kitana first since she trusted her sister would be there for her and not tell their parents before she did. Kitana and Mileena hugged and the former told her that nothing would break their sisterly bond. She was nervous about coming out to her parents because she didn’t want them to view her differently and the idea of producing an heir weighed heavy on her. She was happy when they assured her that they still love her and nothing would change that. Mileena cried during both instances.

-Mileena chose the sai as her weapon since it matched her aggressive fighting style and made her focus on defensive fighting.

-Mileena chose Kitana to replace Shao because of her sister’s compassion and wish to unite Outworld, something Shao lacked.

-Her and Jerrod had a closer relationship because she could vent to her father about her worries and frustrations with being the future empress without judgment. They also spent time walking in the gardens and having picnics.

-After Sindel started training Mileena, their relationship soured since it became the basis of it and led to many disagreements.

-As children, Kitana would call her “Milly”.

Mini aus that I haven't expounded on

Geras and Liu Kang dad bonding -Liu Kang teaches Geras how to embrace the life he was given -a wholesome au where they travel together, takes him to hotpot nights, help him train in the fire temple, and read him literary works that he would find amusing. -Geras would keep a pet rabbit they found in the wild, naming it "Pompom" due to its fluffy fur. -Here we see Liu Kang as a tired but a loving father.

Kronika accepting her mistakes -she apologizes to her children (Cetrion and Shinnok) as both try to help their mother from becoming crazed of the effects of the hourglass (as to how it showed how she wanted to perfect it). -Instead of a cruel and overruling twat, she's a loving mother to the two and keeps one timeline instead of an infinite amount to her desire. Where she would be a titan who knows herself better than being selfish to abuse one's power. -Kronika would seem rather creative in this au to craft different paths of the timeline she holds, rather than sticking to the same thing til the end of the world. -Cetrion and Shinnok have a better sibling relationship, free of their own will to the desired destiny of the mortals in their mother's creation.

Tarkat but with buffs -more likely a zombie apocalypse event instead of treating something similar to corona virus, victims are more likely to be seen (in the first scene where we saw Li Mei in MK1) to have cloths tied around their mouths and chained to prevent them from biting other people. -With the same hunt for bloodlust, there's an insatiable hunger that causes them to grow more rabid. Making them into disgusting creatures that cease to harm people of Outworld. -Shang Tsung screen time? Yes, with a few of the combatants trying to survive and prevent the virus spreading to Earthrealm next.

Jerrod's Secret -This is an idea I had in my head for quite a time, I needed some time to think of it before posting. This occurs to the last lived moments seen with Jerrod, getting to know him being Sindel's man and the dad of both Kitana and Mileena. -Instead of dying mysteriously without NRS giving us proper reasons to how he died, what if he was caught up with Tarkat? He and Li Mei had to keep it a secret and make a cover up story instead of Sindel learning its dark truth. -The moment he fully transformed to an infected Tarkatan, he promised to Li Mei that when all goes wrong from Shang Tsung's medicine that he promised to the king himself, she would kill him. -Yes she did get a backlash from not "saving" Jerrod, scolded by Sindel as she was still mourning with her daughters, she allowed herself to be demoted down to first constable from her Umgadi place.

Mirror Delilah/TR Delilah and Mirror Ulima/TR Ulima Bio

Once an elite warrior and a royal mage at the service of the rulers of Edenia, now some of the most important members of the revolutionary group known as the Hikari Clan, in search for the systematic changes they know their realm desperately needs.

Despite how infamous they currently are in Edenia, there was a time in which they were highly valued agents of the Regime, especially by Queen Sindel and King Jerrod. Delilah proved particularly valuable due to her talent for espionage, many times proving herself efficient through eliminating the Regime’s opposition through whatever method was necessary. Ulima usually assisted her in her important missions, especially when her magic proved a useful tool to complete them. Together they made a fearful duo for anyone who dared to defy the Regime.

Nonetheless, it would be some years after the start of the ‘pacification’ that the Regime would discover those two’s loyalty had its limits. Both Delilah and Ulima considered it a waste of resources that would ultimately do more wrong than right for Edenia, earning them too many enemies from other realms. They dared to openly speak against it many times, which didn’t go unnoticed by Queen Sindel. She finally made it clear to both of them, she was going to continue with it, for absolute peace in every realm had to be obtained no matter the cost. Sindel also ordered them to reserve every negative thought they had about the ‘pacification’ for themselves, or they would pay the consequences for ‘trying to corrupt others by showing the seeds of doubts in the Regime in them’. That made Delilah and Ulima’s decision about what to do very easy.

They were both followers of the Regime, but they also believed it could survive its rulers, which was an opinion shared by more than one important figure in Edenia. Delilah was able to contact all said people to start a conspiracy against Sindel and Jerrod, which ended up failing miserably. Sindel had distrusted them the moment they started doubting her authority, and had managed to infiltrate some of her trusted agents in Delilah’s personal circle. They were discovered before they could even plan an assassination attempt, when they were caught offering help to Naknadan Resistance groups in hopes they could keep Sindel and Jerrod’s followers distracted.

Delilah and all her associates were arrested immediately after that and, given that she was the main instigator, a public execution was guaranteed. Fortunately for Delilah, Ulima had managed to escape her arrest and prevent some of her allies from being captured. Together they were able to free Delilah before she was taken from prison. They were able to continue living, although in constant persecution by the Regime forces.

Still motivated to fight, Delilah continued her rebellion, this time in a public way. Alongside her remaining allies, including Ulima, she formed the Hikari Clan, which has remained as the most infamous and dangerous resistance group in Edenia for thousands of years. To achieve this, Delilah has needed to seek assistance from other realms, from groups that she knew would want a mutually beneficial alliance against the Regime. This ended up not only earning her the help she needed, but also to change her and Ulima’s perspective.

Initially, Delilah and Ulima’s fight was motivated just to stop the ‘pacification’, not the Regime, it was still the most ideal kind of society in their eyes. But as they visited other realms to obtain help and learned people who valued the free will the Regime rejected in the name of ‘peace’, they slowly started to realize they were wrong. Darrius in the Democratic Republic of Seido, Reiko and his Kahn Guard in Outworld, Daegon and his Red Dragon clan in Earthrealm, etc. Their examples, how they defended other people’s freedom, and how many of their realm’s societies (while flawed) allowed for more happiness than the Regime could ever, ended up showing them that Edenia’s ways were wrong before Queen Sindel reached the throne, before any of them was even born. Delilah and Ulima no longer wished just to oppose Sindel and Jerrod’s rule, they started opposing the Regime itself, and, to their joy, they managed to convince most of their allies in the Hikari Clan to also change their perspectives and still follow them in battle.

As the leader of the Hikari Clan and its most powerful sorceress respectively, Delilah and Ulima are some of Queen Sindel’s most hated enemies, and may bring her even more problems than she thinks sooner or later.

The most important part, though, is that Delilah and the Hikari Clan are awesome concepts created by my friend @odie1441 (you should check her stuff because it's awesome 💗), and Ulima is just my little addition to this clan she created.

MK1 Characters Ages Headcanon

Vaeternus: 1 year = 6k years

Edenian: 1 year = 400 years

Draconian: 1 year = 250 years 

*For Vaeternus, I made these calculations based on a Nitara intro. I believe Kung Lao asks her how old she is and Nitara says that she was a little girl when humans discovered fire. There were many differing accounts on when that happened but I decided to pick the one that said fire was a widespread, controlled source 125,000 years ago. It was the second most recent account- first being 12,000 years ago. I chose 125k since I assume the intro I mentioned is meant to hint how much older Vaeternus is than most races.  

*Since the story confirmed that Kitana and Mileena were 10,000 years old, I used the number to find an estimated number of Edenian years that equals a single human year. I considered Kitana and Mileena to be 25 in human years since it divides 10,000 evenly and the sisters look close to that age- dividing those numbers equaled to 400 years. So, 400 Edenian years is equal to 1 human year. 

*In the story, Sindel confronted Shao and mentioned how she remembered the sickly boy he was. This is evidence that Sindel is older than Shao by a few years- ten years at minimum; however, in my opinion, Shao looks older than Sindel so I believe the Draconian species have a shorter life span than Edenians, but they are still much larger than human’s. Unlike with the Edenians, I decided to have 250 Draconian years be equivalent to one human year because of an idea of an estimated range.  

*Liu Kang is slightly older than the Big Bang in the New Era. I couldn’t calculate Geras’ age since he’s experienced a ginormous amount of timelines. Calculations over a trillion is too difficult for any calculator to compute.
