I was thinking: everyone is blaming Marinette for not telling the truth to Adrien. But are we 100% sure that this is what has happened? Are we 100% sure that Marinette is aware that she's lying to Adrien? More importantly, is she actually lying?

Gabriel made the wish. The wish, as the episode clearly states, is a RECREATION. It recreated reality. As Sass explained to us very clearly in Ephemeral, Gimmi has ERASED THE REALITY MARINETTE AND ADRIEN LIVED IN UP TO THEN AND CREATED A WHOLE NEW UNIVERSE, where Gabriel is the hero. Marinette, even being Ladybug and being the guardian, isn't immune to the power of the wish. Gabriel has recreated a world where he has been a hero, and probably he's a hero for Marinette too!

Have we thought about it? She probably is convinced that Monarch was a different person from Gabriel Agreste and that Gabriel sacrificed himself to destroy him because, in the reality where she lives now, THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT HAS HAPPENED. It's not a lie! It's the truth! Why would she be the only one to remember? What makes her stand out from the rest of the world?

No, I don't blame Marinette for telling Adrien that Gabriel was a hero because, in her reality now this is exactly what happened. The only thing that she's hiding from Adrien is the fact that he's a senti and why the rings need to be with him at all times. if we need to blame her for keeping secrets, that's the secret that she's keeping. Not Monarch's identity.

I just realized that if it turns out that the akuma we see in the London special trailers is Adrien.... That'd be the first time we see him being akumatized without the sentirings being involved (as far as the information we currently have goes) 🫣

I was rewatching Ephemeral and the implications of the fact that, to Marinette, the world has now nearly ended twice over revealed identities broke into my room and shot me in the face.

Because this show doesn't ever stop being horrible to Chatdrien.

I had to vent, so I wrote this in 20 minutes.

Takes place at the end of Ephemeral, in between when Marinette lands on her balcony and speaks to Su-Han.

Cosmo Bug touched down more heavily than normal but hardly noticed. Her thoughts were a frantic, swirling mess. She powered down and sank down shakily to the rooftop she had landed on, trying to slow her panicked breathing. She had left Chat Noir quickly after their mission ended, and now she needed to think.

Sass had said… he said he thought… Shadowmoth…their miraculous…

They had lost.

But they had fixed it, somehow.

They had not only fixed the effects of Sass using his power, they had also prevented the wish from being made. The world was no longer ending, so they must have stopped Shadowmoth.

How?

They must have changed something. It was crucial that Ladybug understand this, so that she could prevent it from happening again.

But what did they change? What did they change that was so relevant to Shadowmoth and the miraculous?

What would they have done differently had Sass not intervened?

It hit her so suddenly she felt her head spin. She had been trying to learn Chat Noir's identity and had stopped when time had literally blown up. That's what she would have otherwise done.

It had to be it.

Something had happened because someone knew Chat Noir's identity, her or the Celestial Guardian or Viperion or…

Nobody could know.

Right now, both Alya and the Celestial Guardian knew her identity, but, as far as she knew, no one knew Chat Noir's in this timeline.

Ladybug realized she was shaking.

After Bunnyx came to fetch her to erase the timeline where Chat Blanc had happened, she had been so obsessed with the fact she had fixed it by protecting her identity that she had never stopped to consider her partner’s.

But then she had told Alya, and the world hadn't ended again. So even if the problem was her identity, the origin of the problem clearly was not Alya.

But what if the problem was not her identity but Chat's? What would this mean?

This was twice now the world had nearly ended over uncovered identities, but whose identity?

Her earrings beeped and her transformation came undone. She automatically put her hands out and let Tikki fall into them.

“Tikki…” she rasped, voice wavering. ”No one must ever find out who Chat is. I need to tell him.”

Tikki's face was a mask of concern, but her voice was a touch too hard to match. “Tell him what? You already tell him daily how important secret identities are. He already knows you shared your identity with someone, are you going to tell him he can't but you can? In so many words?”

Marinette's face crumbled further. “Then what should I do?”

Tikki looked down sadly and Marinette knew what she was going to say.

Nothing.

(Yes, I know Luka knows Chat's identity at this point, but Marinette doesn't know that.)

Back when Ephemeral first aired, and Gabriel unified the miraculous, the kwamis said, 'It's happening again....'

That one line inspired a whole complex backstory and universe for my Breaking Free fic series...and then in Collusion we had this from Gabriel...and it just convinces me even more that maybe they've been living out this story over and over and over again and not even know it...because if you did remake reality, would anyone else be aware of it? Would YOU remember??

HEY WAIT A MINUTE!!!

Remember back in “Ephemeral” when Gabriel told Adrien to represend him at the 100th collection launch bc Gabriel is obsessed with terrorism and a shit dad?

Yeah? Good. Do you also remember what his excuse was?

Gabe my Babe, youre not feeling what? You’re not felling WELL? As in...sick? So only Adrien is left to take your position/ represent you in this immensly influencial business because Nathalie isnt feeling peachy either?

But oh! How interesting! Nathalie is shown to help Adrien get through this despite being in very bad health herself

Why does all of that ring some kind of faint bell?

Ah, yes!

That was very specific forshadowing!

Which does make alot of sense when you think about it. “Elation” already showed us that the cataclysm injury is starting to cause Gabriel physical pain again in episode 9:

and non of this is going to get any better for him, thats for sure.

For Nathalie though I had assumed by the end of s4 that Nathalie IS able to get back to full health again, but now “Passion” says that she’s doomed too:

So it seems Nathalie may have gotten better by now when it comes to the direct symptoms of the overuse of the peacock miraculous, but that doesnt stop the fatal long-term effects it has on her body. I guess that does check out.

And that means, with both Gabriel and Nathalie doomed to their ever futher-spreading illnesses set up to result in death, at some point neither of them can represent the business anymore without risking people catching onto the sicknesses. So I guess that only leaves the very obvious solution of having Adrien be the one to take over the position.

Although it does raise the questions of if or how Gabriels sickness can remain a secret from Adrien in all of this. Sure, NOW thats still possible to cover up but in what condition will he be in in another 9 episodes? Is Gabriel just never going to leave the lair again later in the season and Nathalie will tell Adrien that his father left elsewhere (without proplerly saying goodbye; season 4 finale possibly forshadowed that the other way around with Adrien leaving and Gabriel staying) and now Adrien has to fill in some of his fathers responsibilities? I mean, Adrien would have the time for it now that he isnt a model anymore.

Edit: The Tsurugi business might end up threatening to take over Gabriels business near the end too, since it’ll simply need a competent adult leader with gabriel and Nathalie down. That would fit surprisingly WELL too now in s5!

I dont see any reason why “Ephemeral” shouldnt have been legit forshadowing for s5, it sure felt weirdly “next-level for the Agreste story” in season 4.

The real truth about Chat Blanc:  We had to wait until Nathalie was mad enough to tell Gabriel to get fucked until it was truly safe for Adrien’s reveal.

Meanwhile, Ephemeral tells us that Marinette can’t be revealed until after Adrien is out of the same house with Gabriel...at least while he has powers.

Hm, I wonder why Adrien referring to Gabriel as “Papa” (Dad) makes me feel viscerally uncomfortable? He wouldn’t be able to do so if Gabriel didn’t permit it.

tikki and plagg looking at each other here has me SICK. like. they are watching marinette and adrien, holders of the ladybug and the black cat, embrace each other knowing who both of them are. they’re watching a love story play out and maybe in part they know it’s never going to work out, that it’s going to end up being a tragedy. because maybe the nature of the ladybug and the black cat is a symbiosis and a push and pull and a pursuing and a being pursued, a whole in the balance. and it’s so tragic. it’s always so tragic. and they look at each other. and then they look at each other’s hands, because maybe that love and longing and sense memory lives in them too. and when they finally do get to join their hands and embrace each other like marinette and adrien did, they become one with each other and gabriel’s wish begins to erase the entire world. and i'm sick. i’m SICK. are they thinking of becoming gimmi as they look at each other’s hands? or are they just thinking of holding each other?

Dead End: Paranormal Park is AWESOME, and is already being attacked by Concerned Parents... with the weirdest morals.

The first episode alone has demonic possession, ritual sacrifice, satanic chanting, and the main characters are almost killed on screen. 

Other episodes have the dog reading from what could be described as a demon spell book (And perform dark magic) more satanic possession, TWO characters get killed on  screen, there’s body horror, one character tries to gouge another’s eyes, etc. One of the main characters is a literal demon, who at one point look like she’s dragging a corpse inside the house. 

The thing they’re complaining about?

Totally random, but after seeing the sneak peek of the new Monster High series

Imagine if they released a gimmicky Frankie with limbs like Create-A-Monster, but instead of just “normal” limbs, give them the most random add-ons, like that hookshoot, a whisk, spoon, brushes, a mop...

Basically, “Inspector Gadget” Frankie.

It's so bizarre how the show insist that Adrien/Marinette are the endgame ship and go out of their way with every other character shilling the pair... And then they make not one but two episodes were the universe gets destroyed when they are in a relationship (Chat Blanc and Ephemeral). And another that shows they wouldn't work well together (Desperada). And now one that heavily implies Ladybug mistake, that Hawk Moth wouldn't shut up about, was trusting Adrien with a Miraculous (He was Felix, but she didn't know).

It's like they want us to root for them, but at the same time are giving us reasons not to.

Imagine if Miraculous Ladybug actually had continuity and the “Using more than one Miraculous at a time is fucking dangerous” ended up being true and the opener of season 5 is Hawk Moth being in a fucking coma after his stint using all Miraculous at the same time in the season 4 finale.
