Adrien finding Marinette being clumsy and shy around him endearing, but discovered it's because she's too afraid to tell him how she feels, so he's doing everything in his power to make her feel safe and comfortable when they're together. stayed up super late to binge the episodes last night so i got little to no sleep and the bags under my eyes are as dark as gabriel's future and as heavy as adrien's emotional state will be when he finds out that not only is he a sentibeing but felix and kagami are as well. the heavily-applied concealer under my eyes cannot disguise the fact that i have spent the last 13 hours doing nothing but letting my brain be infected by the Blorbo Disease. i am at work rn unable to function as a normal human being because adrien and marinette are Dating and in love. felix sang a little ditty and sobbed on a rooftop alone after snapping his sentisister out of existence. adrien changed into pajamas to make marinette more comfortable and they had a picnic date and almost kissed. they tell each other they love each other so freely. zoe is gay as fuck has a big fat crush on marinette. and best of all, gabriel is finally decaying into a crispy necrosis-fueled death. i am so normal (violently screaming) about it all. i cannot drink enough coffee to fight past the exhaustion but the Bug and Cat Show Blorbo Love will be enough to sustain me for a lifetime

SPOILERS FOR PROTECTION BELOW BUT I HAVE TO TALK ABOUT THE RINGS ‼️‼️

So while this episode KILLED me as a adrienette Stan, most of my interest in it lies in that it basically confirmed with these scenes that BOTH of the twin rings control Adrien, meaning that his amok is split between the two.

(Sorry side note I LOVE Nathalie for this your redemption era looks so good on you sis ❤️ )

So, both Gabriel and Emilie had Adrien’s amok with them. If we want to be optimistic, this makes sense from a not evil perspective: having Adrien’s amok being in only one ring is VERY DANGEROUS, and so having it split between two rings with two people is best, and what better two people than his parents… right?

Except oh wait, the rings can control him against his will and one of the parents in question is Gabriel Agreste 🤡 But at least his mom was good and she had the other… right?

But wait! Personally, I DONT believe the Emilie is evil (for my mental health 🤡), and as such I don’t think that she ever used her ring to control Adrien… at least, not in a selfish way. Instead, I think how Nathalie used the ring this episode hints as to how Emilie might have used it: to free Adrien of any commands given to him from G*briel.

However there is NO WAY TO KNOW FOR SURE! I for one cannot WAIT to see how this new dynamic with the conflicting commands from the rings plays out! My poor on will be stuck in the middle of it all… bring on the angst!

I wish I could go more into detail with my thoughts, but this post is long enough so… part 2 with more rambling about this ft. my thoughts ab where the hell Felix’s Amok is coming tomorrow!

In conclusion: #FreeAdrien and give him his rings… yes after he gets them he will have to wear THREE silver rings 24/7, but it’s ok he can pull it off I believe in him ❤️

Except it would probably be dangerous for him to have both rings on at the same time…

Marinette is a mess. She’s most defensive with Adrien, yet her shields fall for him and none of her efforts can hold them together.

Their clothing is symbolic of this, a picture of why the marichat shown in Exaltation didn’t work.

Chat Noir is not just dressed appropriately, but masked. Marinette’s rose imitates a mask, but she can rip it free and he cannot.

She takes a huge step forward in Protection. She has time to change her pajamas but chooses not to.

She accepts who she is and what she has with Adrien. Of course, her nerves don’t just vanish.

Their relationship can only work if he’ll let his protections down as well.

That’s where they reach: a place where they both trust, vulnerable and unprepared in their pajamas.
