when i was first making my au that i am now calling equestria civil war, seasons 2/3 of fim were coming out. a lot of stuff happens in the show after that. im trying to come up with how that changes things

i want to explore how it affects some of my favorite g4.5 characters for example. right now all i’ve got is that cozy glow’s few friends would try to keep an eye on her as a possible target for recruitment by pegafascists, even tho in reality she doesn’t hold any beliefs that they could radicalize. and they should have been keeping an eye instead on their morally bankrupt scientist friend luster dawn who is trying to industrialize the production of friendship magic and put it in jars to power friendship weapons. also she wouldn’t do them herself, but she can just look at the results of the alicorn experiments, right? no harm in looking. since they already happened anyway?

also there’s a lot more to do with politics. considering the sisters left and twilight seemed to be headed towards creating a representative democracy. not to mention the complexifying relationships with other countries. my original au had a pretty clear good guy team and a badguy team, but now there can be like multiple political parties and like monarchist cults and stuff

and the existence of politics would mean a lot for some existing characters too. like starlight or those flimflam twins. i’m sure there are others.

i admit as an adult who no longer feels the need to perform masculinity, and who is not nearly as into star wars, and who is wise to the ways certain brony behaviors were toxic, that war stories don’t interest me as much. but it’s a fine enough backdrop for other stories. also im not not into star wars lol

i have to be honest…. i think the g4.5 toys are SO FREAKING CUTE!!!!!! their hair just needs a LOT of work.

so so sorry you have to have this ratty nest twilight. at least it kinda looks like flowing princess hair? kinda????

anyway i’m just admiring her and thinking about her future beauty once i restyle her hair and paint her to be more to my liking. i see so much potential in her🦄

I'm not super into G4.5 mlp or their toys but I got this "smashin' fashion" Twilight Sparkle because hello? Twilight in a cat costume?? Too cute!! And it's actually so adorable and it stands on two or four feet very well. I think it's cute.

i’m making some of my edgy ocs from when i was little. “the alicorn experiments.” they are victims of pegasus ethnofacists that were planning to take over equestria. the pegafascists all lived in a one of a few cities that were like cloudsdale but they moved around a bunch like with the seasons. the capitol was called the north wind. their war machines were just called storm clouds and they were like blimps but the balloon was a cloud and they had cannons that shoot lightning. they hated the new democracy like the other regressive post-celestial monarchist movements, but they used it as an excuse to advance their supremacist ideologies.

mistletoe was a voluntary experiment. he’s an insider defector spy. all the pegafascists names are based off of Christmas because I thought it was really funny when I was little. all of these pegafascists idealize the old pegasopolis in the same way that Nazis, or other fascists idolize ancient civilizations like notably the Romans. but since pegasopolis is mostly remembered in the context of the heartswarming tale, they have a sort of christmas fascism (lol christofascism) I don’t know, it made a lot more sense to me when I was a child. It’s still a little funny though.

i was really into starwars at the time (more so than i normally always am) so of course the bad guys i made up were fascists with huge war machines. but i think fighting fascists is awesome. and unfortunately something some people seem to be forgetting.

the alicorn experiments were them trying to make an alicorn basically by variously sewing together a unicorn and a pegasus. they had other things they tried like cloning and magic too. they wanted to create a new royal line because the celestial sisters stepped down and they regard twilight’s creating a democracy as her forfeiting her rule. (i came up with these guys years before the sisters retired in the show, so at the time it was just because they didn’t like them) but that’s not how alicorns worked so the experiments are just a bunch of righteously angry misfits with weird powers that i can pull protagonist character from. the pegafascists really only care about pegasi and form some other plan to appease the monarchists and/or ultra religious in their ranks.

Here is a redesign and a Backstory to Opaline

the one on the left is Opaline, she's a Pony/Goat Hybrid and she is the daughter of grogar

while the one on the right is her mum, a alicorn princess named princess Cherĩ Hana (Cherry Blossom) of the pony version of japan named Umapan and when grogar took over before gusty stopped him, he captured all the ponies of umapan and locked Cherry Blossom in her room where he did abusive things to her.

2 weeks later and Grogar was defeated by gusty by stealing his bell and using his magic agents him but the damaged was done to cherry and a month after he was gone, she finds out she was pregnant

she decides to keep the baby and at first after opaline was born, she loved her but then when opaline got older, the goat/alicorn hybrid became more and more evil as she was getting dreams at night of her dad telling her to join his side and she was falling for them, when opaline was 10, cherry had to banish her out of town after she serverly harmed a pony during a parade of grogar's defeat 11 years ago

opaline traveled around equestria for years and years until she found ponyville and does a plan to make all the ponies species to hate each other, it doesn't work as twilight who had been princess of equestria for a year at this point seals opaline away in a powerful gemstone so she will never be released.

but the problem is now opaline has been rereleased by a follower of her named ragnarok the centaur who is also a 3rd cousin to tirek and they are planning to release tirek, cozy glow and chrysalis and take over equestria once and for all.

so that's the story and i hope you like it 😁 all see you all soon 😋

Pony Life Song Ranking Poll Results!

Lats week I put out a poll asking you all to rank the three songs from Pony Life

There were 42 valid votes, so to win a song needs to get over 21 votes.

The first choice results are as follows: Theme got 18 votes, Wild Heart Beats also got 18 votes, and We Shine Brighter Together got 6 votes

No song got over 50% of the vote, and in fact two of them are tied. Fortunately that should be resolved when we take the second choices from We Shine the brighter votes and distribute them to the two remaining songs

And... it's still a tie. 3 Shine Brighter voters chose Theme as option two, and 3 chose Wild Heart Beats as option two.

Since we have just 2 options now, we'll do the normal tie-breaker, where my vote (for Theme) doesn't count. This means the total number of valid votes is 41, and to get >50% a song only needs 21 votes. So

Congratulations Wild Heart Beats!

Of course, the real winner was none of the above, getting 24 votes
