Hello Cultists & Good Afternoon! Just posting a small status update on my COTL MLPBaseEdit Drawing Series called The Spouse Squad which recently been playing cotl again due to the exciting update of Sins of The Flesh aka The Sex Update(as fans call it) and have no longer decided for my Lamb to have 6 Spouses like before & now only decided to Focus on only my 3 beloved Wives(Samantha/Sammi, Lady Dimistru/Dimmi & M3gan/M3ggy) as the main storyline focus!

So I will still start off with Samantha(Leader of The Wife Trio), Then Lady Dimistru & 3rd being M3gan herself and all of their own True Origins from my Ingame experiences creating them!

as for The Other Followers I've made Immortal i.e The Bishops, Narinder/Nari & Their Witnesses they all are not gonna be married & rather regular worshipper followers! but i will still draw them in my baseedits occasionally(esp when SOTF Update releases on either the 16th or The 15th since the US gets updates a day before will other parts of the World i.e Aussies get it on the official date of the 16th)

Life series winners ROYAL AU?!

I made an au where the winner of each season of the life series is given a 'crown' at the end/their victory. After that, the winners are escorted into this 'castle' or palace of some sort. They now rule, they now have the power, they are on top... or it seems to look like that.

Actually, the watchers just want to keep them somewhere, lock them in a building, they aren't allowed out until there's an new series. But they do indeed, have power and status to rule over the 'losers'.

Instead of the rulers changing every season, let's have them SHARE the status and power that the ruler have. They are all equally powerful, so the more people that are in the castle, the less powerful they become.

So what do they do?? They try to win again. The more you win, the more control you have, the less power you lose.

They also have stained glass paintings of the winners, all right next to each other, each labled

'The sun'

'The moon'

'The stars'

'The mars'

Even though equally powerful, some rulers are favored and liked more than others, some see them based on how honorable their victories are.

Martyn isn't liked verry much, he lacked honor in his victory, they all see him as a blood thirsty power hungry man,

Pearl is also always behind grian's shadow, him being the sun and all.. but it won't be a big problem if pearl's life in double life hadn't been so lonely. She couldn't escape her loneliness even AFTER the series is over. (I need to confess that I made this au based on Celestia and luna from mlp)

Also there seems to be a pattern amongst victories.

I made Koku an alicorn because he reminds me of Princess Luna! He’s also based off of the moon god so I think it’s fair to give him pony god status. Douma is a unicorn because they are the symbol of purity. Akaza is an earth pony because he is the least reliant on magic.

Our Town (MLP) but instead Nightmare Sans

So I was rewatching MLP and got to Starlight Glimmer's first appearance. The whole concept of the town and her backstory made me wonder: What if Nightmare created a town where he and others would feel equal. Where no one gets bullied for their magic, status, and looks?

Here is some small background on Nightmare and how this town (Gonna name it Our Au) would come to be:

• Nightmare eats only one apple

• Nightmare runs away from corrupted tree and angry mob of villagers

• Nightmare is almost attacked and thanks to his new abilities from the apple got teleported to another au. At this point Dream is turned to stone by the negativity coming from the corrupt tree, the depressed zombie villagers, and the fact his brother had disappeared. Both Nightmare and Dream have eaten one apple. Therefore they both have the ability to sense other's emotions, teleport via emotions, and are immortal.

• The au Nightmare falls into is unfortunately Underfell. Which lure Nightmare in because of the massive amount of negativity in the au.

• 200 years later Ink keeps nagging Nightmare for meddling in Aus. Nightmare is also on the run from Error

• Several close calls later and Au hopping, nightmare has been alive for 300+ years. Nightmare decides to settle down and gets the idea to create his own Village, his own Au, where everyone would be safe and treated equal. It would also prove to his brother and the others of his past that even if he can't protect the positive apples, he can make others happy and protect them. He meets Killer and the first Horror here.

• 200 years of trial and error, betrayal, and at one point Error destroying the entire au (the first Horror sans nightmare meets dies with the Au). After finding temporary shelter with the remaining survivors, Nightmare sets off to find a safer au and to make a deal with Error to prevent it from destruction.

• Nightmare finds a new Au, completely abandoned. He meets another Horror and even Dust and takes them to the new au. He even welcomes in some of the horrortale residents. Nightmare found a spell book on his travels. Having thought over everything that has happened up to that point and finding a certain spell in the book, Nightmare decides that to rid of magic and any special talents would truly make them all equal.

• Nightmare uses the book to drain everyone's magic within the Au which they named, Our Au (so creative). For the monsters that needed magic to survive he had left enough magic within them for them to live and create bland magic food to eat. Nightmare even drains his own magic, leaving enough to cast the draining spell and to teleport to other Aus (this is why nightmare's eye lights are slightly purple). As Nightmare's magic has significantly weakened he is no longer able to sense other's emotions. As to why he doesn't know that forcing others to be happy and completely equal could cause the residents of Our Au to feel despair.

• Year 506, Nightmare stops Au traveling once he brings Cross to Our Au. Then does he drain even more of his magic until he is only able to cast the draining spell. For the next 20 years everything is peaceful

• Dream breaks out of the stone on year 506. For 20 years He teams up with Ink and Blue to protect the multiverse while looking out for where his brother could be.

That's about the whole gist of it. I got more info but don't want this post to be so long. Plus not everything is set to stone nor well developed. It's just a silly little au I wanted to make based off a MLP episode.

Wasn't sure if the village would wear all grey or wear colors so have the colored versions of nightmare's outfit below! (Depending on which I chose for this outfit will determine the color palette of the other outfits in this au)

monster design origins - kirin

hi so thought about making a post or two about design origins of various monsters throughout monster hunter since my hyperfixated ass needs to talk about them, and what better way than to start off with the hard to destroy horsie?

seriously though some of the history behind designs is fascinating and kirin has always stood out to me. disregarding it’s mythological origins, it’s definitely unique amongst other elder dragons in appearance alone. so here’s an overly long post about kirin!

note: the design origins of this mon may have been confirmed in an interview but it would be pretty boring to just go “oh this is what someone said” and more fun to look into how the influences are reflected by the monster itself, even if they’re unintentional!

as some of you may be aware, kirin was one of the first elder dragons ever introduced and is a pretty iconic one. but kind of like fatalis, it stands out more due to how simple the design is (and lore) than most. and no, it’s not just because it’s a horse.

the overall design scheme for each of the elder dragons introduced in mh1 take after a lot of more european/western mythological creatures, although this doesn’t mean it only draws from them, lao-shan lung being an example.

the most european of the three is definitely fatalis, being based on traditional western dragons, lao is a lot more like a drake due to its lack of wings, and kirin takes a lot after a unicorn.

it’s important to note that regardless of place on earth, a lot of dragons take varying forms, most often showing reptilian features. serpentine bodies are more often associated with eastern dragons.

so why is kirin an elder dragon? couldn’t it just be a large monster but the decision to make it an elder dragon was done to keep up with the theming? (yeah that’s likely part of it.)

well… what if i told you kirin isn’t entirely original? rather, it’s existed for a pretty long time.

this is qilin, a chinese mythological creature that also became adapted into japanese mythology, it’s name being translated to kirin. it’s also technically a unicorn, albeit a bit less horsey. if you’ve watched mlp you probably know about them. not only are they a lot more lavish than your typical unicorn, they also are often depicted as having features resembling chinese dragons.

in japan, though, kirin are more often depicted as deer-shaped dragons as opposed to just horses with dragon-like features. the singular horn is definitely a western influence, as there are depictions of it having a singular antler or just a horn.

the thunder aspect is a bit iffy on where it came from. traditionally, both qilin and kirin are said to breathe holy fire. this may be for the sake of elemental diversity, but i’ve also seen a few depictions of it in other media where it summons lightning. closest i can think of is how it’s said to not trample grass, can walk on water, and is often depicted as walking on clouds (hence why kirin in monhun sometimes appears to not be walking on the ground and rather some lightning mist thing, but that seems to only really happen when fighting on grassy terrain).

it’s elusiveness can also be chocked up to more than just the scarcity of unicorns or its status as an elder dragon. qilin are said to walk alongside sages albeit making themselves hidden. and heck the fact that kirin’s fur is prized may also be a reflection of how qilin supposedly bring good luck, which can potentially manifest itself in wealth i assume.

also really wanted to talk about oroshi kirin as, knowing qilin breathe (and are sometimes depicted as being surrounded by) fire, it’s kinda weird that the only subspecies uses ice.

oroshi means “down wind,” referring to wind blown down mountains. mountains are cold and have snow sometimes. yeah. kirin in japanese mythology is treated as sacred and one of the highest beings, so using the orochi term can also be a double meaning, as you’re technically figuratively lower than it. while a bit of a stretch, it may also somewhat relate to yamata-no-orochi, an eight headed serpent of japanese myth that appeared at mount torikama, and since snakes are reptiles and dragons are typically reptilian, yeah x2.

again a lot of stretching as i can’t find much behind why this is. potentially a fire subspecies could happen maybe??? idk it’s pretty interesting to think about.

eight shows to get to know me. allegedly.

Babe what does this even mean??? What do you mean “get to know me”?? Shows that are the reason that I am the way I am?? That make people watch them and then go “yeah this explains so much about you”? Blorbos I project too hard on?? The vibes? The core memories??? The quoteability?? Which ones make me scream out loud the most?? What does it all mean?? You already follow my blog, you know which shows I'm obsessed with, but what shows do even give insight into anything besides what I like in stories??

But uh yeah. My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic. Easy pick. Whatever reasoning you want from the potential meanings of this tag game up there, it has it. The first three seasons are so good! Though I did drop it when Twlight became an alicorn, that just felt too much toy-selling show to me personally, same with equestria girls. But like I grew up watching old school MLP (G1), and I adored it. Then I reach 20 and suddenly FiM (G4 for those keeping track) comes out and it is such a gigantic blast from the past and damn if I didn't get hooves over head from the start. I was obsessed. I was one of the “mods are asleep, post ponies” people. And the way they fucking based Pinkie Pie on me? Like right down to the Pinkamena rock farm backstory? Scary stuff right there I’m tellinng you. 

But 7 other shows to pick?

Monarch of the Glen is an old show, and I will admit that I haven’t Really watched it since I was in school but it has stayed in the back of my mind since I was like 10 so. I never cared for the main couple, as characters they are fine but even back then it felt like a “oh yeah, here’s two pretty people from opposite genders (and social status) and so we have to make them get together” which was Not what the show was about To Me! But just all the other interpersonal relationships? The parents romantic relationship? Top notch.  The struggle of trying to please your parents but still doing your own thing? Trying to find out what that thing is? It does never get old. Also I had the biggest crush on Duncan and that does tell you so much about my type still lol

Galavant released the trailer and at first glance everyone already knew it was a very Me show. I’m not sure what it says about me, but it fits me very well. With the sense of humour, disney references, bursting into unprompted song, wanting to dress like a ren fair character, horseback riding, daring sword fights. A prince in disguise! I mean what. I don’t project on anyone super hard, but I do vibe like crazy to the whole thing, and the soundtrack is a banger that never truly leaves my brain.

Scrubs might just look like the silly little doctor comedy show, and it is! But it also has SO MUCH heart and I just love the lessons it comes with. Again, it’s been a hot minute since I watched it so I won’t vouch for how well the humour has aged, but that was never the point of the show either. The point of the show was watching people care about each other in all different kinds of relationships and so many of the more heartfelt exchanges still live in my soul even now. Like that time JD went to the “evil lab guy” everyone was scared of because he didn’t want his patient to have what the results said they did and the lab guy asked “do you Think I made a mistake or do you Hope I did?” and JD just said “I’m kinda hoping you did” and the whole scene softened and lab guy did the test again. I don’t know, that scene has lived rent-free in my mind for like 20 years whenever I hope things aren’t as bad as they seem, hoping that some higher power lab guy will take pity on me and say they mixed some tests up.

Malcolm in the middle is again just that silly chaotic show from when we were kids - sibling edition - but again it just has so much heart and I don’t know. Watching it again as an adult, yes sure, it has aged, but the big bits stay the same. How the parents Chose each other every day. How the kids might beat each other up with bricks but wouldn’t hesitate to turn to arson if anybody else tried to do the same to their brothers? Yes, it means a lot and even though I might not have “learned” as much from it as Scrubs, it still resonates with me about how growing up felt.

Until We Meet Again because at my heart I am a hopeless romantic who wants to believe in soulmates. It’s a pretty recent show in general, and I only watched it a year ago, but it felt like it understood me more than I understood it, so it is on this list anyway. But I will always hope that if someone meant enough to you and you meant enough to them you Will find your way back to each other, in this life or the next. Not saying this show didn’t absolutely destroy me, I spent 3 hours just crying and shaking after the first episode, and I think I spent a majority of the show being a dehydrated little blob, but it was so worth it. To watch both timelines fall in love and choose each other? To watch the modern timeline have friends and be happy among more than just each other? Everything I could have asked for. 12/10. For real.

Not sure what Goblin has to say about me. We’re all depressed and deserve a good cry and a hug? I guess it means that there is always hope for things to get better, in some way. Even if it doesn’t come about as you thought it would, or when you hoped. But there is always someone out there who cares about you, whether or not you know they do.

I can’t believe I almost forgot about Black Books! Fran is me and I will turn into Fran if bf ever does leave me rip. For real. I even used to have a marriage pact with a friend who was just like Bernard that stated if we both reach our 40s and are single we can be drunk and miserable together. So many of these moments get referenced on a daily basis in our home, everything from how “on no accounts must they know the real you!” to the Cleaner. Yes, if you watch this show it will explain so much about me. (Please don’t do that)

Okay, yeah. This only took like 4 days to complete lmao. Might have taken it a bit more serious than intended, but the theme of the game is just to wide and I didn’t only want “these are the shows I’m currently obsessing over” cause yall already follow me and know which ones those are.

Seeing how MLP:FiM and specifically wild MLP AUs are in vogue again, I vaguely remembered working on an AU of my own as a little pony-lovin' baby:

So remember how for one episode in one of the early seasons the Mane6 (well, sans Twi) switched their cutiemarks with each other? What if these were their actual cutiemarks, like, since childhood? Because, like, all their cutiemarks are owed to the Sonic Rainboom, and Dashie doing the Rainboom was iirc kinda circumstantial? So what if she didn't do it, and now they all live in the Rainboom-less world and coincidentally recieve each others' cutiemarks, are all more or less miserable in their places, and the Elements of Harmony do not work because their future wielders are not in their proper place in the world anymore/yet. I.e.: Pinkie has AJ's cutiemark, so she's more into the pie-baking aspect of her personality and her hair is most likely not poofy for obv reasons; Fluttershy has Pinkie's personality, so she has to be an entertainer somehow (iirc I was thinking something in line of how that one dude from that one episode was so prone to little misfortunes he went into slapstick?? Idk, you know the guy); etc. etc.

Except it's not the point where this AU diverges from canon, lol, that happens way earlier — when Celestia sacrificed herself to become Nightmare Sun (man, remember Nightmare Sun?) in her stead with a cutiemark-switching spell which is the real reason for the lack of Rainboom. So Luna becomes the ruler, and millennia later she's still looking for a solution to, well, that, and has a whole program for gifted unicorns with stellar-adjacent powers to help her raise the sun and/or rescue Celestia. Naturally, Twi is a part of this program, and has a Mane6 of her own, except it's composed of many familiar faces like Trixie, Sunset, Moondancer, Starlight Glimmer and her friend Starburst or whatever his name was — but they're not like their canon counterparts at all, they more or less fall into the stereotypes OG Mane6 fit: iirc, Sunset was the Rainbow Dash substitute as the "rowdy one", Moondancer was the Pinkie substitute as the "party-going fun-having one" based on that throwaway quote from episode freaking 1 and so on and so forth.

And so this Mane6, aka the Stellar6 (sure, let's call them that), somehow catches wind of the Elements of Harmony and the real Mane6 that's supposed to exist but doesn't. Probably by stumbling upon the Lost Records™ of that cutiemark-switching spell, idk. And now they gotta go adjust the lives of the OG Mane6 to the point that they come back to their canon status quo, maybe by forcing a Sonic Rainboom or whatever — except everyone involved thinks it's a really stupid idea. Twi doesn't want to trade her lifelong friends for a bunch of randos she never met, the Stellar6 is also upset by that but still push it upon her as her duty, and the Mane6 simply don't want to be taught how to live their lives by, again, a bunch of randos.

sorry Stella !!!!! I wanted to post the designs first, but now since theyre up, i can talk a bit!! I haven't thought of everything yet, but here are bits im almost 100% sure of:

As you can see in Dream's design, he doesn't have a cutie mark. That's because I wanted to combine the Admin au/headcanon with the mlp one. The idea behind this is that his purpose in life is to protect the land and maintain peace and harmony. Since the second that more than 10 people decide to stay there quarells start to happen, he does not receive his mark as he has not completed the task of menaging peace (or something pleasei hope it makes sense)

Dream is not an alicorn but just a pegasus. When more conflicts start to pop up (middle of L'manburg war for independence i'd say) he decided to look into magic anyway, in hopes of finding whatever possible to help him- maybe artefacts or non unicorn magic based things (like Zecora's witchcraft ? is this the right way to name it?) After getting the Revive Book he studies it too. At that point in time, the land itself, which has some kind of... mind? sentience? idk, grants Dream the gift of a horn for all his struggles ( a) he's the singular guardian b) he has studied a shit ton) not sure in which way i want this to go, but here are notes: -Dream after gaining his horn may try to hide it using invisibility, shapeshifting or illusion spells. No one knows what other can use against him, so hes better off not parading around with a clear show of importance (+ its pogtopia era when he gains it, so he may want to stay low idk man) -we know that in the show, alicorn change their phisique by becoming larger with time. So maybe after like a year after gaining his new status, Dream starts shifting from an average height pony into a taller one (ex. Princess Cadance or Luna after redesign) no idea what this could be used for, but just thoring it out there

There's no way to tell if Tommy does have a cutiemark under the picture of Human Real Life Queen Lizzie. cw: injury/slight body horror?

4. From the explosion on the 16th, Wilbur's wings break. The state of his body carries over to Ghostbur, who can still levitate, but isn't capable of moving his wings properly. Though after his revival, Wilbur comes with his wings fully intact. They've been healed since they were damaged very close in time to his death and revival is a bit like respawn- he just needs to rehabilitate and relearn how to fly again. (is this a set up for hurt/comfort? : - ) who knows)

Twilight is an octarian soldier (like, the only one left for some reason) sent by Octavio to investigate the Splatlands about the disappearances of the other Octarians while he says he "won't be too far behind" (foreshadowing)

on the way there she meets spike. he's the "little buddy" smallfry of this. no he will not tell her what spike is short for or why he was in the middle of the desert when he met her

Oh yeah and only twilight can understand him bc she speaks salmonid. he just sounds like gurgles to the rest of the gang

twilight gets a transmission from Octavio basically telling her to go to Splatsville specifically, "blend in, make friends, keep a low profile, whatever"

just outside of splatsville they run into fluttershy (her name is probably different but I can't think of a good one so she's just fluttershy for now). she's a sea slug (kinda like flow) bc look at this image.

she's heading into town too and it basically goes like the show where she's like "omg is that a salmonid... wowie......."

MEANWHILE in Splatsville:

Pinkie (inkling), Dash (octoling who grew up in the Splatlands), and Jack (inkling) are all friends but they're in a bit of a pickle. they wanna do turf wars but they need a 4th person and the random people they keep getting matched with just don't vibe very well :(

at first twilight's like "Ugh no" but then spike is like "heyyyyy part of your missionnnn was making friiiiiends rememeberrrrr?"

so she joins the team. fine sure whatever I'm not gonna get attached (she gets attached)

Twilight is a charger main. e-liter menace

Dash is a dualies main because of course

Pinkie is good with all weapons tbh but her favorites are rollers and blasters

Jack mains N-Zap 64 and she is a tacticooler mvp

At one point they're like "Hey twi love the military drip but like you gotta get some drip"

enter rarity. i don't really have a clear mental image of her yet but she is crab. probably hermit crab? tamatoa ass back I know that for sure

she moved to the splatlands from Inkopolis and started a boutique there

she's a brush main btw "hey Earnest you dipshit only inklings and octolings do turf war" nuh uh big man canonically plays turf war AND salmon run so there

(fluttershy doesn't like doing turf war and doesn't have a main for obvious reasons) (but she does cheer them on) (spike does too bc he's not allowed in the Turf War building :( )

anyways. twilight and the gang are now besties. enter cuttlefish.

Dash: hey is it just me or is that old guy staring at us from the sewers

Pinkie: I'm gonna go follow him lol

this action has consequences.

they're all agent 3 now (3.1-3.7) but cuttlefish only has one set of hero gear. "sorry guys you're all shit out of luck" (of course twilight gets it bc protag disorder) and rarity's all "well Fine I can make hero gear for the rest of us"

crater proceeds as normal with twilight, pinkie, dash, and jack each taking one level. twilight is... *unnerved* by the current status of the octarian troops

enter octavio. hes fucking pissed. this is his natural state of being tho

he calls out twilight for being a TRAITOR and she feels bad blah blah blah they kick his ass

again it proceeds as normal but when twilight wakes up. she's alone (except for spike). as it turns out all of her besties landed on different islands somehow bc this might as well happen

Twilight is island 1, jack is island 2, pinkie is island 3, fluttershy is island 4, dash is island 5, and rarity is island 6 working on everyone's agent outfits all along so they got their group swag by the end of it

again story is pretty much the same from there. kill that bear

and so the world is saved with the power of friendship :)

unfortunately celestia and luna don't really exist by virtue of octavio kind of taking celestia's role? rip queens we loved you so much but you were replaced by old men unfortunately. sad
