Ray's hands always tremble.

It was something you noticed about him the first time he offered you his hand when you arrived to Magenta, and the more time you spent with him, the more you noticed just how hard it was for him to sit still.

The more you learned about him, the more you realized just how insignificant he considered his time when it came to his breaks. He didn't slow down when he had something to do for his boss and it was no wonder his hands wouldn't stop trembling no matter how hard he tried to hold them still. 

He worked himself to the bone and his body reflected that fact. Ray couldn't stop the pulsating exhaustion in his hands, and no amount of structure from his stiff gloves seemed to provide any reprieve from the pain. He lied through his teeth about how much pain he was in, and as much as you wanted the school him for it, you knew that he would be harder on himself than anyone else ever would. 

The only saving grace you had when it came to his pain was the realization that he would always slow down when you offered to hold his hand. You knew if you could hold his hand all day, you would. He worked himself too hard for the sake of this so-called Paradise and it didn't seem fair to think that he was one of the only people who was forced to work so hard.

Didn't he deserve to bask in the fruits of his labor? 

As you held his hand and smiled at him, your heart sank because he thought this gesture was the same as being blessed by God. He was often denied what most people took for granted, and you wanted to give him more than what he thought he deserved... but, only when he was ready to accept it—because forcing him to be okay with leaps or jumps before he was ready felt just as wrong as denying him water.

"My flower?" he asked, eyes flickering to the space where you were connected, and smiled.

You squeezed his hand. It wasn't too hard nor was it too gentle. It was just right. "I've got you, Ray. Let's relax, okay?"

The last month of summer, with this heat, you just want to cool off. (｡•́︿•̀｡)

In my mind I imagined Saeran coming up to me and saying:
