Mid-May 2016, workers are sorting freshly processed Spring Sheng Cha before steaming and pressing into cakes for storing, shipping, and aging. Extra stems and extraneous plant materials are removed so the tea is more uniform. At this point the tea is called Moacha. Although it is very hot and humid in this Menghai facility the workers wear many colorful layers. Goodbye June 2018

Normally I welcome the month and reflect on the previous month and lessons learned and set goals for the incoming month, but June...the 6 month of 2018 had me stuck. Speechless. Conflicted. Deflated. Drained. Just really tired. I kept trying to find the words to blend that would capture my emotions with true authenticity. But the more I tried, the more it felt unauthentic. The fact...the truth is June was an emotional ride that had positioned objects (=people) that were set up along the ride to pierce, poke, slice, trip and stab me along the way. So, I decided the best way to deal with June 2018 is to send it off with this reflection and a sincere goodbye. 💋 As I prepare to welcome July.

To the objects (=people) that caused damage in May-June, some permanent. Thank you. I appreciate every experience, lesson, conversation, bruise, scar. Yes, you. You do not have to wonder if I’m talking about you this time, I am. 😉 There were some special people that brightened my journey. To you...you know who you are, thank you. 😘 Literally they gave me a torch when it was dark. Gave me water when I was dehydrated. Sat with me when I was terrified. Showed me the map when I was lost. Loving those that stepped out beyond what the average would do to do what God needed you to do for me. Hallelujah! 🙌🏿

So, here we are 6 months into 2018. Half-way through the year. End of Q2. Quite a bit happened this month. Graduations. Promotions. Severed relationships. Birthday Celebrations. Deaths. Realizations. Reviews. Final reports. Awakenings. Tests. New diagnoses. Betrayals. Renewed relationships. Lies-Deceit. Compassion. Forgiveness. And then...the most important thing...a blank canvas for July...for Q3...for the rest of 2018.

You see, it goes beyond the acts that happen along the journey and more of what is learned from the act itself. I learned a lot over the last 30-45 days and I continue to find new ways to grow from some of the more painful experiences. Here are a few important gems that I am walking away with this June 2018...

I matter!

I am valuable!

I am appreciated!

I am loved!

The legacy that I leave is important to me. The relationships that I involve myself in are valuable to me. The experiences that felt hurt and I perceived as damaging on my journey, I have started to look at as tests and distractors for my true purpose that God has for me. I finally recognize what they are and once you know...once you’re aware, it truly makes the journey much more manageable.

I’ve decided that instead of sharing examples via my social media platforms, I’m going to share them through my activities that I’m designing to be used in leadership and team development trainings. The stories will be retold now for many to learn from. Examples of how to know and become better. They will be my anecdotes during my future trainings and key notes. Some of them may even be the topics or subtopics of the future TED talks that I will be giving. So, I am truly grateful for each experience, good...bad...hurtful...joyful and filled with memories. June 2 0 1 8 I say thank you and goodbye. As I stare at this blank canvas for July, I am filled with excitement, hope, and so much gratitude of this thing called Moacha’s Journey. 🦋

2017 Lincang Moacha! The first spring 2017 puerh of the season... usually I would have rested this for the weekend but I couldn't resist, it's sunny outside, spring tea is in season and just smelled so inviting!! Moacha is such a summer/spring perfect style of tea, compared with compressed fresh puerh... yeah im way past sleepy but i also got a fresh iced moacha and roughly 11 hours until my shift starts at work so you can say im really not doing myself any favors
