Mushy May Day 6 - 'You're Blushing'/Jam Sessions

Pairing - Ifrit/Dew (water edition)

Word Count - 594

Summary - Ifrit is down horrendous for Dew

It was a warm summer afternoon, Dew and Ifrit had taken over the paractice room for the day, having one of their jam sessions. The two ghouls held them in order to be more in tune with each other, bouncing off of one another with riffs and runs until their fingers cramped. It had become a weekend tradition - after all the practice with the other ghouls and Papa, and once all their other measly chores were done - cramming themselves into a small practice room and just unwinding.

The small practice room was hot and stuffy, the window they had propped open with one of Mountain’s drumsticks doing more harm than good, letting in the hot summer air. Both ghouls were slick with sweat, shirts undone and their masks discarded to show off flushed faces.

At some point Dew had stood up to improvise a bass solo, focusing intensely as his fingers worked up and down the neck of the bass. Ifrit watched enchanted from where he sat, idly stroking a chord for Dew to play over, loosing his tempo more and more until he stopped playing altogether, just watching the water ghoul with bated breath. 

His face was warm, but this was a different warm to the kind he’s felt all day, a kind that also followed by butterflies in his stomach, caught in a trance between the other ghoul’s concentrated face, his flowey dark hair and his incredibly fast hands. He watched as Dew finished his run, panting from the exertion, tossing his hair out of his face and look over at him with a satisfied smile. 

‘You’re blushing, you know.’ 

Ifrit dragged his eyes away from Dew for a moment, suddenly aware of how warm he felt, pressing his hand to his cheek. ‘A-am I?’  

He laughed, the water ghoul let out a laugh that Ifrit could get high on. His face lit up as he  ‘You really are an idiot aren’t you?’ Dew set down his bass, leaning close to the fire ghoul, their noses nearly touching. His icy blue eyes were narrowed, face changing into a nearly mocking smile, causing Ifrit to retreat into his seat slightly. He sat there braced for the onslaught of mockry that usually came out of the other ghoul, his eyes squeezed shut so he didn’t have to see the other’s cold expression. 

Instead he felt two cool hands cup is face, tilting it up in the direction of the other ghoul. Ifrit cracked open one of his eyes, finding an uncharacteristically soft face looking at him, a gentle smile crossing his face, his eyes gazing at him lovingly rather than with annoyance. Ifrit was bumbfounded. 

The cool of Dew’s hands felt amazing on his impossibly hot face, the cool of his lips on his own even better. Once they pulled away, Dew let out a giggle at the dazed look on the fire ghoul’s face. His already flushed face now an even deeper red, eyes unfocussed and mouth hanging open slightly. The smaller ghoul felt a slight flush on his own cheeks, preening in the way Ifrit looked at him. 

‘Maybe we should call it here. Cool off together.’ he said, turning to switch off the amps and put his bass on it’s hook. When he was met with no reply, he looked over his shoulder, adding, ‘How does that sound, baby?’ 

Ifrit choked on his spit at the pet name, shooting up to put his own equipment away, before all but dragging Dew away, itching to cool off in the lake.

no matter where you looked at it from , the tie was absolutely LUDICROUS. she couldn’t really tell if it was the color or its overly UNNECESSARY bizarre design. while the girl knew he was one for the theatrics , this one was just a little bit too much. DISAPPROVAL was clearly evident on her face as she shook her head. ❛ i don’t think that tie goes well with your overall look. ❜

          a   moments   pause   as   he   glances   at   the   other,   features   frowning   a   bit   at   the   other   class’s   student.  

          ❝    ...   whatever   you   are   doing.   you’re   going   to   aggravate   it   more,   and   i’d   rather   not   get   tired   out   in   the   first   thirty   minutes   of   my   shift   because   you   chose   to   make   your   sprain   more   severe.   ❞    while   stern,   it   was   spoken   in   a   sense   of   caring.   fingers   softly   grasp   the   wrist   and   close   his   eyes   as   the   glow   emates.   a   soft   breath   as   he   felt   the   small   sap   of   energy   and   when   he   does   eventually   releases   the   other’s   hand   he   has   to   move   over   and   grab   an   apple   from   the   nearby   fruits   basket.

which muse is the trickiest to get into character for?

i would definitely say the ones that i’m new to, or where i don’t know a lot of the material? or where they’re very obscure so i don’t have many reference points. but, specifically…. probably twelve, yaz and ryan from doctor who, cause i love dw and am caught up and everything but bc ive seen them with so much time between the episodes and have never truly hyperfixated on it (adhd mood) it’s just kinda hard to click? yeah.

is there a muse that not a lot of people roleplay with?

yea… that’s most of them tbh. like not cause people haven’t tried or anything but it’s cause they’re still being fleshed out? and most of my ocs are only added for like. a couple of specific people to rp with (usually borf, cam, theus, ness & figs) where are charas either match in some way (like how we each did a ohshc character—mine being haruhi n mori) or i added it for them specifically?? so im not interested in a lot of them being rped with. (which is why a lot of them dont have bios linked yet; i don’t rly wanna rp with them until i’ve got them more solidly done.)

as for other ones…. well, yamada i added for a friend that i think is inactive now? and generally….. it’s hard to explain cause like. there are a bunch that get rped with more but it’s cause they’re easier for me to write so i reply more quickly? but still the same amount of threads as the other muses n .. just stuff like that?

and then there are some characters from fandoms that are just really obscure like i love yoo and good luck girl where. in the first example there’s two (2) other rpers & in the second i am………….. the only one in the fandom so sdmagkdsgdklsj ? and most people haven’t heard of them but it actually makes it more fun for me? cause it’s not like. a lot of stress esp if i haven’t visited the material in a while (because they’re so obscure)

if you HAD to choose, who’s your least favorite muse?

as a person? garp. he’s really hard to explain (esp considering the discourse surrounding him, which ….. is very hard to explain to people who don’t know the world of it) but the fact that he didn’t. Do Something like. i can’t understand where he’s coming from. he’s a good person but he’s just. to me .. not [redacted] (bc spoilers) is unforgivable to me??/ idk or rather… not unforgivable but incomprehensible. ike it was just. really dumb when put with my headcanons, but my headcanons Are My Canon Now so samdgkljdsklgj

as a muse .. leiko. like i wanted to write a villain, and the concept was cool, but then i nvr rly ended up doing much with them and i only keep them Bc of that original concept…… if i had an archived muses / requestable only section she’d be the only muse there smDKGJ. and cause now i have bad memories with their fc i’ve shied away from actually developing them?? but also i dont wanna.. remove them just because of that and i need to get over that so it’s also like ????? idk.

which one of your muses have you been playing the longest?

aria. that’s it. just . aria. she will always be my number one, (admittedly bc she’s the main character in the story im slowly .. slowly drawing btu !!!! yeah she’s just. i’ve done so much w her to the point where i can’t really develop her any more??? liek u cld ask me any question and the answer would come naturally ? oh shit that wasn’t the question but yeah. she’s the third character i rped (after rejoining tumblr rp at least, & after tika and luca) back in the one piece fandom and just .. she’s expanded so muchand im rly proud of her ;’)
