We have an incredibly exciting announcement to make: On Friday, July 20th, we will be releasing #Madeleine, our unique and incredibly delicious #StrawberryShortcakeNEIPA! Madeleine was brewed with healthy portions of biscuit malt, lactose, real strawberry purée, and Tahitian vanilla beans. It was dry hopped in the juicy, low bitterness style of a New England IPA exclusively using Belma hops, an American hop varietal grown in the Yakima Valley and known for its ripe strawberry character. We have another wonderful lager releasing this week: "Bobcat" Tmavé Pivo Dark Lager (5.5%) is a complex and malty Czech-style dark lager. Layers of caramel and roast set a light-to-medium bodied foundation and are accentuated by a kiss of classic lager sulfur notes. This beer has been a passionate request of our assistant brewer, Brian, since he started here and we were finally able to work it into the schedule. The Forest Animal lager series has prominently featured incredible art done by local artist Ashley Hauck of @spicymustarddesigns. We're absolutely loving brewing this series and this iteration is no slouch. We've been blown away by the response to these lagers and as long as you all keep loving and crushing them the way you have, our forest animal lagers will continue to be regularly featured in the rotation. Beer Releases: "Cowboy Hat" American IPA (6.5%) ft. Centennial, Warrior & Citra - Your dad's favorite hops have been reimagined with a western flair! "Stroke Of Midnight" Imperial Pumpkin Spice Porter (7.0%) ft. Pumpkin & Pumpkin Spices - Our very first pumpkin beer leans heavily on the spices and lightly on the pumpkin. This recipe was a homebrew recipe created by our salesperson, Mike Hodgson, and scaled for commercial release! Both available on draft and in cans in the tap room now! Cowboy Hat is getting the full distro treatment. Next week, we're releasing a project we're incredibly proud of: "Hogan's Heroes" celebrates the incredible work and sacrifice of our state's frontline responders during this COVID-19 health crisis. Although it's brewed in the style of a West Coast IPA, we're calling it a "Maryland IPA" (6.5%) because it was brewed with all Maryland-grown hops and Maryland-malted malts. We felt at a time of closed shop fronts and economic turmoil, there was no better way to make our dollars matter than to spend them at local, independent businesses. Our pale, Vienna, and wheat malts were malted at @darkcloudmalthouse and our Centennial & Chinook hops were grown at Black Locust Hop Farm. Our yeast was isolated and propagated at @jasperyeast just over the river in Sterling, VA. Lastly, starting with release day on Wednesday, we're offering 30% off all beer for any doctors and nurses who purchase beer in person at the brewery for as long as Hogan's Heroes remains in stock. Check out the new infinity line! Remember how big our 30s used to look? The new 60 BBL tank in the back left is a BEAST! It's 15' tall, 7' in diameter, and is designed to ferment almost 15 thousand pints in a single batch. That's DOUBLE the size of our largest tanks prior. Thanks to @alphabrewops for the quick ship and the beautiful steel. This behemoth is now dedicated to Week Away Hazy IPA so we can be sure we never run out again. You guys have been snatching that beer up like crazy and we just haven't been able to keep it in stock despite our best efforts. That's about to change! We are OPEN! We are now offering outdoor service with socially distanced seating and contactless pint ordering and payment via @biermiplease. When you arrive, simply check-in with our bartender to be seated at an open table. Once seated, you can go to our biermi site and choose Dine-In ordering, select your table number, and place your order. Our beertenders are ready to pour and serve you! Due to the limited seating arrangements (where one person may occupy a table otherwise available for six, for example) we are enacting a $30/table/hour minimum bar tab. This minimum tab may be applied to to-go beer like cans, crowlers, and growlers. Your tab begins when you are seated and ends by checking out with the bartender. The bartender will then properly clean and sanitize the table to prepare it for our next guests. We understand that this is not the norm that you are used to but is a necessary process to ensure that we can accommodate families with children, individuals, and couples or very small groups seeking to get out and enjoy the brewery while maintaining strict social distancing guidelines and all CDC guidelines. Just over 24 hours to go... "What Maryland Does" Hazy DIPA (8.0%) sales open on biermi tomorrow at 7p! This beer was designed in collaboration with 27 other incredible Maryland breweries to create a snapshot of what's happening in Maryland beer right now. (See the Untappd description for all collaborating breweries!) We'll be donating $2 from every 4-pack sold on BierMi to the Brewers Association of Maryland (@marylandbeer) to help offset the revenue lost from cancellation of the MD Craft Beer Festival. Response has been insane for this beer and we anticipate rapid sales (and a possible sellout) at release. If sales go fast on biermi, you may have the opportunity to grab a 4pk at a craft beer store near you. We are distributing small amounts to accounts across our distribution footprint. Quantities will be limited and demand will likely be high so we recommend calling ahead to your favorite shops and verifying availability.
