[Of course your car had to break down in the middle of nowhere and your phone had to die. Now you're lost in some random place where you'll probably starve to d-] [Oh look, there's a hotel right there. How convenient.] [You stepped inside, the faint hum of the heater being the only sound in the room other than your footsteps. It was much better than the freezing cold outside, especially due to it being about 9 PM.] [There was a counter to the right and a couch with a coffee table on the left. Behind the counter was a man, probably in his early 20s, leaning against the counter. He looked asleep. There was a bell on the counter, right next to his ear.] [You stepped forward, hesitantly ringing the bell as he jolted awake.] [The man jumped and almost fell before composing himself.]

"Ghh- Um, hey. You here for a room?"

"Mhm."

"Mm. How long will you be staying?"

"Uhm.. It depends.. Where's the nearest mechanic?"

"Erm… I'm not too sure, maybe about ten hours out?"

[You muttered in annoyance under your breath as you thought for a moment.]

"Yeah, we don't have a bunch around here. So, how long?"

"Uhh.. Y'know what? Five nights, I guess.."

[He raised his eyebrows a bit but went along with it.]

"Alright, that'll be um.."

[He took a few seconds to count on his fingers.]

"$40."

[After digging in your pockets for a moment, you pulled out the money and handed it to him. He took the money and put them in a drawer. You then realized they didn't have a cash register. What a weird hotel.]

"So, uhm.. What room?"

"Oh, right. Room 215."

[He handed you a key.]

"Stairs are over there, and then it should be on the left side of the hall."

[He pointed to a hallway to the right of the counter.]

[You nodded as you took the key, walking to your room.]

[The room was neatly set up, ready for someone to stay in. There was a tray with a cup of tea and a bowl with sugars on it. The tea smelled faintly like bitter almonds.]
