Feeling kinda bitter and underwhelmed that the RimWorld fanbase largely isn’t concerned with the wider lore of this massive and vague universe they find themselves in. Meanwhile Minecraft fans are having a grand ol’ time speculating about an equally massive and vague universe. C’mon, guys, the “RimWorld Lore” tag is barren!

Playing on an ice sheet and there was a ice storm. Had my colonists inside the base while all hell went down outside. I have a mod that respawns new wild animals and since the animals kept dying because of cuts and respawning I ended up with +120 dead animals.
Meat's back on the menu.

Western Lonen base tour (modded)
I've been playing one colony for about 5ish in-game years and I wanted to show the world Tumblr my chaotic base.
It's very much still a work in progress and not very well organized. But oh well.
If you see anything that you want to know which mod it's from. let me know. I'll look. Ask me at @ilikecatsandgames
Tumblr media
Western Lonen (don't ask me, it was randomly generated) started with three pawns in a crappy cave.
Raiders came, raiders got downed and recruited and slowly but surely the colony grow to the size it is today.
Tumblr media
I normally play without electricity (Medieval Overhaul my beloved) but we needed it for research. So yeah, here's our wind turbine and a little part of our main entry.
Tumblr media
Here you can see our fabulous entry and the northern part of Western lonen, consisting of a tample (buried are: Archuk, who died in battle with a stegosaurus. He was a great teacher and nanny. And Mako, who died as a stillborn after I accidently send her mother to fight a raid before she went into labor in the midst of battle....)
Also shown is our rapidly decreasing food storage :( a clothing storage and our oddly shaped recreation hallway.
Tumblr media
FML for accepting so many refugees. Normally we're drowning in food...
Tumblr media
It used to be so full.
Tumblr media
The dining / living room is the main hub of the colony. This was the cave where we started in so it deserved the be the biggest and best decorated room. On the right you can see the hospital, bedrooms of the first three colonists ( two married eachother) a 'barn' for our animals and a nursery at the bottom right. On the left we have the classroom and some bedrooms.
Tumblr media
The cave we started in. The research table is the same as in Frostbite's room. So can see the beginning of the tiny-ass kitchen there.
Tumblr media
Here we make and store our shit + an extra kitchen surrounded by bedrooms and diningrooms. I am always afraid to run out of clothes despite having almost 50 of all... It is a mess. Moving on!
Tumblr media
Bedrooms in progress, some guestrooms, dining and MORE storage. Every colony adult and older child gets their own room. The hallways are still empty but we're working on it. I just love the rustic furniture <3
Tumblr media
MORE bedrooms, theather, music room and another diningroom. Not really that interesting.
Tumblr media
More bedrooms and storage. The base is like 85% bedrooms at this point. I should stop rescueing and recruiting people and having children...
Tumblr media
Our cameleon yaks who adapt to the weather by changing their coat and some cows. Our main suply of wool and milk and meat. We also hunt dinosaurs.
Tumblr media
As seen here. Turns out, when you hunt one, the whole herd will gang up on ya! Thankfully Almond is quick and we have a shitton of primitive turrets lined up.
Tumblr media
Our barren vegetable field and empty room with 'trap hallway' under it. I have a mod for winter crops, but it's Aprimay so it should be getting warmer soon.
Here are some close-ups.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It gets crowded during parties.

Lol, this is my 'best base' so far.

I'm tempted to go back to an older version just to play with my non updated mods. I'm enjoying 1.5 but I do want to play with some of the mods that haven't updated yet.

Blitzed out of my mind playing Rimworld. Running a solo machinator start with a character who is genetically a Loser Catgirl physically addicted to smokeleaf. She can't reproduce or recruit due to her ideology and also 0 in social, so she researched cloning.
She one day found an archotech thingamajig that just also gave her cybernetic God powers.
Tumblr media
I couldn't not draw her

Religious Drama/Tragedy is happening in my rimworld colony.
I’m playing a medieval run with a Neo-Catholicism ideoligion. We somehow started the game with a pet raptor, named Tryst. She is the bonded animal of our leader and head priest. She died, but we had recently acquired a Potion of Life and used it to bring her back, and she ascended to the rank of Raptor Jesus.
Unfortunately the potion has had unforeseen (aka totally warned for) side effects, and she is slowly going insane and becoming violent as a result. She has attacked many, but the leader refuses to call for the death of his beloved Raptor Jesus.
The malady will take her life eventually though, and I fear her death may break him, and cause chaos within the colony and ideoligion.

our nursery, here at Compound Alpha. even in the eternal snows that blanket Sierra's World, we still find time to take care of our little ones here.
it may be cold, but the spark of life is enough to keep us going, in spite of raiders and mechanoids trying to wipe us off the map.

Baseliner: Now hold on a minute. Are you guys Archotechs, or do you just worship Archotechs?
Archon: Well...both, actually. We were created by Archotechs to interact with the physical plane in their stead, we are a piece of them made manifest. So both literally and theologically, we are Archotechs, and Archotechs are our gods.
B: So the Archotechs made you in their image?
A: Yes! See they gave us all the traits they saw best in humanity, while also-
B: So you're their humansonas?
A: >:T

Well, this was an interesting day on the colony.
We summoned a giant fucking mechanoid to get at its chippage, for further tech advancement.
Our head researcher (who just so happens to be a Deathclaw) saw that the giant fucking mech managed to shoot down one of our hauler bots. She tried to rescue it out of the combat zone, but the mech proceeded to artillery exactly where she and the drone was.
Result - the entire lower half of her body, pants and underwear and legs, gets burnt off in plasma fire.
We managed to blast the mech apart, but she was then confined to a wheelchair. Unabashed, she continued doing SCIENCE, and now has a nice pair of Advanced Bionic Legs to show for it.
Which was commiserated by a Leader Speech, and an orgy.

Playing Rimworld without Medieval Overhaul for the first time. I miss it a lot, but having electricity and such makes it a whole new game for me.

Rimworld is fun. I designed dwarves. Super powerful in melee due to superclotting, robust, and skill genes. They're also great at mining, crafting, construction, and I think plants, but i mightve removed that to save metabolism. I don't remember. Anyways, the drawbacks are that they're blind af and suck at shooting, plus they hate the sun so so much. Not to mention they require alcohol to live. They get grumpy and weak at 5 days sobriety, go into a coma at 30 days, and die at 60. Luckily I have a mod to make mushroom beer so no need to deal with hops and their vile sun thirst. My first run was a impassable mountain jungle biome.(it's a mod that let's you live on impassable mountains, they just take up the whole map sans the edge) and it was going great, but then the save got corrupted or something idk I would load in and 5 seconds later crash to desktop. My current run is an impassable mountain mechanoid biome, very little wood or food, but soooooooooo muuuuch steeeel. I can handle the food issue by cultivating my own soil through the tilling mod, but the lack of wood means no brewing beer for a scary amount of time while i set up a timbershroom farm
