Girls and their rides
So back when 2.1 dropped, I decided to get all the new vehicles and clothes that have been added in the game since Phantom Liberty. While grinding vehicle contracts and races, I was wondering what rides would fit my OCs the best. Now that I managed to get everything, here are the answers!
Tumblr media
Crystal - ARCH Nazaré "Racer"
Crystal, my main girl and my OC of choice for beating both Cyberpunk 2077 and its DLC, ironically caused me the most trouble! Up until now, she canonically used a red Shion Mizutani Targa that I managed to find in the wild almost a year ago. The issue was that in case I wanted to use it, I'd have to find it again or spawn it on my PC. Since I mostly play Cyberpunk on my Xbox, that wasn't an ideal scenario.
For a brief moment I was considering giving her a brand new Herrera Riptide "Terrier" - a car I could actually spawn on demand. But seems too impractical for her. She loves cars but I don't see her driving a hypercar. She wants something cool, powerful, but not that high-maintenance.
Then I saw this cool new bike, fell in love with its looks and colors, and remembered that I wrote my dislike for bikes in this game in Crystal's lore! Instead of rewriting it I decided that Elegy, her gf who rides a Kusanagi, made her get used to them, start enjoying their looks, and taught her to ride them - which fits the 2.1 bike handling improvements perfectly!
Tumblr media
EV - Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet (930)
Now, I was thinking about giving EV either one of new muscle cars or Mizutani Hozuki "Hoseki". You might actually see some pics of her with these cars in the future (with Hoseki being her first car for example), but eventually I settled on giving her a 911. It fits her looks and personality, and she's my canon V, so a Samurai-themed car is a good choice.
Originally she was supposed to be driving a 911 you get in Chippin' In, but my s/o managed to convince me to get a cabrio! I like its color scheme more than the original one!
Tumblr media
Thalia - Villefort Deleon "Vindicator"
Sully was by far the easiest! While at first I had no idea what would really fit her, after I bought that Vindicator and examined it thoroughly, it was the only choice for her. It looks vintage, maybe a bit classy, but with a sport touch.
There's a lore reason for how she got it too! I didn't really have time or strength to explain how she survived her alleged death and ended up arriving in NC yet. Other than reuniting with Crystal, she needs her and Elegy to help her with a special task. The person that drove her near NC, left her that car as a gift and something to aid her in her journey. She might or might not have modified it for that custom look, but I didn't decide on that yet.

Porsche 911 Hybrid: Existential Threat Alert!
Tumblr media
Air-cooled Porsche purists look away now. The 911 Hybrid is officially about to become A Thing. Spotted during track testing and later confirmed by Porsche CEO Oliver Blume, the hybrid is the first time anything other than a conventional petrol engine has powered this motoring icon.
The 1965 Newport Folk Festival won’t be the first thing that springs to mind when considering this seismic shift in Porsche 911 thinking but it’s a better parallel than you might think. Because it was here, nearly 60 years ago, that Bob Dylan shocked music fans by (gasp) playing an electric guitar rather than the traditional acoustic number that had made his name. The shockwaves still resonate today.
So, consider the potential ramifications for this (probably inevitable) move by the Stuttgart supercar manufacturer. Because according to recent press – and their own Annual Sustainability Report –Porsche’s own Dylan moment will be to add a third element to the water-cooled vs air-cooled debate that keeps the chat rooms buzzing.
According to the motoring press, it’s part of a wider ‘facelift’ programme for the whole 992 incarnation of the 911 range. Other newsworthy additions to the stable include a 911 Cabriolet, a 911 Turbo S, an updated 911 GT3 and a reimagined GT Touring saloon. But it’s the hybrid that’ll grab the headlines, for sure. So, what’s it like?
First things first.
The structure mirrors the current Turbo S model, suggesting a performance hybrid in the same vein as the Cayenne and Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid models: superficially true to the originals, but with a big secret tucked away.
As we’re some months away from a showroom near you, full details are still hard to come by. But the Internet seems to agree that the power will come from a 3.8-litre twin-turbo flat-six
allied with the 136hp electric motor found in other hybrid Porsches to generate up to 800hp worth of oomph.
Fully charged.
While the batteries will obviously add to the payload it’s expected to match and potentially beat the 2.7 seconds it takes the 911 Turbo S to get from 0-60.
And while there is bound to be some mutterings among the purists – remember, Dylan was booed at Newport – Porsche are not for changing and have faith in the new model.
“The high-performance hybrid seamlessly continues innovative development of the 911 drive,” Frank Moser, who oversees the 911 and 718 lines, said in a statement. “This benefits the driver whenever they’re accelerating. We therefore have a technology that will prepare us for future emission standards.”
Another motoring title speculates that the modified twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre flat-six and a 400-volt hybrid system powering the electrified 911 will feature an integrated starter-generator developed in conjunction with EV maker Rimac, in whom Porsche owns a significant stake.
Full wheel drive.
Unlike other hybrid or fully electric Porsches, the electric motor in this setup will be mounted on the front rather than the rear axle, giving the car all four wheels to distribute those extra 349 kilowatts.
The reimagined 911 is just one of four major launches with a Taycan Turbo GT, a new Panamera, and the all-electric Macan expected before year’s end. So, is it any good? The answer, my friend, is blowin’ in the wind, as a certain someone might say.

My Speedball 964 air-cooled Speedster with 993 turbo S power @excellencemag1 STORY & PHOTO BY PETER WU JULY 24, 2014 If it weren’t for a crying two-year-old and a mild case of insomnia, Todd Dakarmen wouldn’t have been up at 3:00 am scrolling through car listings like he was counting sheep. His initial searches for collectible ’89 and ’94 Turbos came up empty. Undaunted, he modified his search to 1994 911s. What came up sent a jolt of adrenaline through his arteries because it seemed to be a case of too good to be true: a ’94 Speedster with 100,000 miles on the clock and a “Buy It Now” price of $30,000. He pressed “Buy” and then actually managed to get to sleep. When Dakarmen woke up a few hours later, he got a call from the seller asking him he if he’d been drinking the night before, when he bought the car at 3:00 am. It turned out that the two knew each other: Dakarmen is the owner of LA Dismantler, one of the largest Porsche dismantlers in the country, and he had been selling parts to the owner of the Speedster, a car dealer, for many years. Dakarmen went to look at the car and found it checked out as a numbers-matching car with a well-documented service history. The body and interior showed a little wear, but that didn’t concern him because, at the time, he already owned a ’94 Speedster with 4,000 miles and an ’89 Speedster with 3,000 miles. This one, he figured, would be enjoyed on a regular basis, with less concern about its preservation and resale value. Over the next two years that he owned the car, which became known internally as the “Speedball,” one of Dakarmen’s friends constantly hounded him to sell it. He would always turn him down, until one day he gave in. From there, it didn’t take long for new owner Bob Wake to put his touches on the car. Wake removed the soft top and installed a Strosek hardtop. Then came a set of made-to-spec H&R coil overs, brakes from a 993 Turbo, a set of 18-inch Ruf wheels and front uprights from a 993 GT2 Evo. As the car moved further and further away from stock, the two talked about what was needed to give it some much-needed edge. That, of course, was more power. The thought of swapping in a VarioRam engine MORE.. (at La Dismantler) https://www.instagram.com/ladismantler/p/CZRzF4OljYm/?utm_medium=tumblr

Porsche 911 (964) Turbo S LM-GT
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Porsche developed a highly tuned 964 Turbo S prototype for use in international motorsport. This car, known as the Turbo S Le Mans GT (or simply Turbo S LM-GT), was based on the standard road-legal Turbo S, but stripped down and modified for circuit use. A deep chin spoiler was added to the front, while two air inlets were added just above the rear wheel arches. An adjustable racing rear wing was added on top of the standard Turbo's wing. Wider wheel arches were used to house 12-inch (300 mm) wide racing slicks. The interior was completely stripped, a rollcage added, and the windows replaced with plastic. The engine used was not the standard road-car unit, but a smaller twin-turbocharged 3.2 liter unit which produced 475 hp.

Porsche 911 Through the Years: A History Worth Learning
Tumblr media
A big part of the 911’s powerful charm is its classic style, especially combined with up-to-date technology.
In contrast with modern-day cars designed to look ‘retro’, the 911 is a classic spirited masterpiece adapted to the twenty-first-century needs. Whether you decide to purchase a new model or a vintage 911, you’ll be making a great choice.
Knowing the history of your Porsche 911 car can increase your appreciation for it -if that’s even possible- and make you feel proud of being the owner of a super-efficient German sports car with a big personality.
Here’s a quick history lesson about this masterpiece.
(1963-1973)
The Porsche 911 was developed as a more powerful, larger, and more comfortable replacement for the 356, the company’s first model. The new car made its public debut at the 1963 Frankfurt Motor Show
Early 911s used two-liter engines with as little as 130bhp. Both engine sizes and power outputs swelled over the next decade. The car had four seats although the rear seats were small, thus it is usually called a 2+2 rather than a four-seater.
Production began in September 1964, with the first 911s exported to the US in February 1965.
In 1966, Porsche introduced the more powerful 911S with a Type 901/02 engine having a power output of 160 PS (120 kW; 160 hp). Forged aluminum alloy wheels from Fuchsfelge, with a 5-spoke design, were offered for the first time.
In August 1967, the A series went into production with dual brake circuits and widened wheels and the previously standard gasoline-burning heater became optional.
The Targa version had a stainless steel-clad roll bar. Its name came from the Targa Florio sports car road race in Sicily, Italy in which Porsche had several victories.
The 110 PS (81 kW; 110 hp) 911T was launched in 1967 with a Type 901/03 engine.
The 130 PS (96 kW; 130 hp) model was renamed the 911L with Type 901/06 engine and ventilated front disc brakes.
The 911R with 901/22 engine had a limited production (20 in all), as this was a lightweight racing version with thin fiberglass reinforced plastic doors, a magnesium crankcase, twin overhead camshafts, and a power output of 210 PS (150 kW; 210 hp).
The B series went into production in August 1968, replacing the 911L model with 911E with fuel injection.
The C series was introduced in August 1969.
From 1970 to 1971 there was a big change, the capacity increased to 2.2 liters for T, E and S (now 123, 153 and 178bhp).
In 1972-73 T, E and S switched to 2.4 liters (128, 163, 187bhp). Horn grilles beneath headlamps turn black for ’72. 207bhp Carrera RS 2.7 homo special lands for ’73, but only in Europe.
(1973-1989)
With the arrival of the G model, there was a discernible difference in styling and tech.
The G-Series debuted in 1973 and was replaced in 1989.
From 1974 to 1976 range simplified to 911 (148bhp) 911 S (173bhp) and Carrera (207bhp), all with 2.7 engines. Carrera switches to 200hp 3.0 for ’76.
From 1977 to 1983 All models except Turbo were replaced by 178bhp SC (boosted to 201bhp in ‘80). The first true Cabrio 911 appeared in late 1982.
Turbocharged 3.0 six’s 256bhp pushes the 911 into supercar territory.
In 1987-88 444hp 959 features a twin-turbo flat-six, with water-cooled heads, computer-controlled chassis, and four-wheel drive. Top speed: 197mph. 961 is 959 modified for competition.
(1989-1994)
In 1989 the 911 underwent a major evolution with the introduction of Type 964.
The 964 model was 85 percent new. The four-wheel-drive arrived for the first time, as did other tech improvements like power steering, ABS brakes, and airbags.
964 RS had new smooth bumpers and a retractable spoiler.
Turbo is back for ’91 with 320hp 33; became 355bhp 3.6 Turbo for ’93 (379hp for 3.6 Turbo S).
(1994-1998)
The 993 was presented just five years after the 964 and is still regarded by many Porsche enthusiasts as the best-looking model.
It was the last 911 with an air-cooled engine.
Curvy shell was a change for 911 design but the real breakthrough was a new multi-link rear suspension, opt four-wheel-drive system. 268bhp from 3.6 boosted to 281bhp.

First Look: The New Porsche 911 Turbo S
Porsche presents the new-generation 911 Turbo S for unprecedented power, driving dynamics and comfort. The new range-topping 911 is being launched as a Coupé and Cabriolet, both powered by a new 3.8-liter boxer engine with two VTG turbochargers, which delivers 478 kW (650 PS), 51 kW (70 PS) more than its predecessor. Maximum torque is now 800 newton meters (an increase of 50 Nm). The Turbo-specific eight-speed Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) cuts the sprint from zero to 100 km/h to 2.7 seconds (0.2 seconds faster), while top speed is unchanged at 330 km/h.
The dimensions of the 911 Turbo S have been increased significantly in line with the enhanced driving dynamics: the body is now 45 millimeters wider above the front axle (1,840 mm), and the overall width is 1,900 mm above the rear axle (an increase of 20 mm). Modified track widths, further developed aerodynamics and the new mixed-size tires contribute to its agility and sportiness: the track is now 42 mm wider at the front axle and 10 mm wider at the rear axle. The adaptive aerodynamics now include controlled cooling air flaps at the front, while the larger rear wing has been designed for even more downforce. For the first time, the 911 Turbo S transfers its power to the road with mixed tires in two different sizes: it has 20-inch tires with their unique 255/35 dimensions at the front and 21-inch 315/30 tires at the rear. New equipment options underline the much sportier image of the all-wheel drive 911. These include the Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) sports chassis that has been lowered by 10 mm and the sports exhaust system with adjustable flaps that guarantees a distinctive sound.
The completely new engine of the 911 Turbo S is based on the 911 Carrera engine generation. It features a completely redesigned charge air cooling system; new, larger VTG turbochargers in a symmetrical layout with electrically adjustable wastegate flaps, as well as the use of piezo injectors, which have significantly improved the vehicle’s characteristics with regard to responsiveness, power, torque, emissions and revving ability.
The new six-cylinder engine is aspirated by a new intake system. In this instance, the previous routing of process air and charge air cooling was swapped around: part of the process air now flows through the characteristic Turbo air intakes in the rear side sections. In front of the air filters, now situated in the rear wings, two other airflows have also been incorporated, through the rear lid grille. This means the new 911 Turbo S has four intakes with a larger overall cross-section and lower resistance, helping to improve engine efficiency. Two symmetrical turbochargers with variable turbine geometry (VTG) and larger dimensions replace the previous identical parts. The wheels now rotate in opposite directions on the right and left sides of the vehicle. The diameter of the turbine wheels has been increased by five millimeters to 55 mm, while the 61 mm compressor wheel is now three millimeters larger. The wastegate flaps are electrically controlled with stepper motors.
The harmonious design, which perfectly balances driving pleasure, dynamics and sportiness, is ideally suited for everyday use as well as the race track. The leap in performance of this new generation is particularly noticeable in the sprint from zero to 200 km/h: at 8.9 seconds, the new 911 Turbo S is one full second quicker than its predecessor. Thanks to the enhanced Porsche Traction Management (PTM) all-wheel drive, the transfer case can distribute significantly more torque, with up to 500 Nm being transferred to the front wheels. The new generation of the standard PASM chassis is also even sportier. Faster and more precisely controlled dampers provide significant advantages to the driving dynamics with respect to roll stability, road holding, steering behaviour and cornering speeds.
The new front end with wider air intakes has a characteristic Turbo-look with dual front light modules as well as standard LED matrix headlights with dark inserts. The redesigned, pneumatically extendable front spoiler and the larger rear wing deliver 15 per cent more downforce. The muscular rear wing sections with integrated air intakes emphasize the sleek body of the 911 Turbo S. The new look of the rear is completed by rectangular tailpipes in high-gloss Black, typical of the Turbo.
The interior has a high-quality and sporty finish. The standard equipment list includes a full leather interior and carbon trim in combination with Light Silver accents. A new designed two-tone interior will be available by Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur as an option. This is characterized by a coordinated interplay of colors, materials and individual enhancements. The 18-way adjustable sports seats feature stitching that pays homage to the first 911 Turbo (type 930). High-quality graphic elements and logos in the instrument cluster complete the characteristic Turbo S features. The center screen of the PCM is now 10.9 inches, and canbe operated quickly and without distraction thanks to its new layout. Other features on board ex-works are the GT sports steering wheel, the Sport Chrono package with newly integrated Porsche Track Precision app and BOSE Surround Sound system.
The 911 Turbo S Coupé will be available in Germany at a price of €216,396 including country-specific equipment and 19 per cent VAT. The 911 Turbo S Cabriolet will be priced at €229,962.

Today we received a great story by Derek Meluzio, about his passion for Porsche and his very special 996 Turbo, modified by RUF! : © Photos & Text: Derek Meluzio #911LegendsNeverDie #911LND ________ PART 1: I am a long time Porsche 911 enthusiast and a short time 911 owner. Today I’m 43 years old now and I grew up in the back seat of my dad's yellow 1973 911T. He bought it right around when I was born. I grew up with that car in the garage and often times I was out there with him while he worked on it. He was a very active PCA member back then and was a very active and successful autocrosser. I attended the autocrosses with him and my sister and I road in the back with he and my mom when they did TSD road rallies. My father also owned a very beautiful 930 Turbo when I was a bit older and we shared some similar stories with that car but the 1973 911T.... the sights the sounds the smell... it was what made me fall in love with Porsche. In the late 1980's after graduating from autocrosses, driving schools, etc my dad bought one of the Al Holbert assembled factory 924 d-production racecars and he campaigned it is SCCA and NASPORT. He was lucky enough to have lots of success with the car winning many SCCA National events, the NASPORT championship and finished on the podium at the Valvoline Runoffs. In 1989 he finished 15th in the Porsche Cup USA and in 1991 he finished 9th in the Porsche World Cup. Prior to that he purchased (unrestored at the time, and took years and years from Dennis Frick and his restoration facility) and then restored Porsche 901 prototype 13327 "Barbarossa" the oldest living 911. Once it was completed it was at the Porsche North America display at the New York Auto Show, usd by Porsche for press events, attended a handful of Porsche Parades (Cincinatti, Lake Placid, Hershey).
