I was telling Harley the other day that he use to live in my belly and, that it use to be his wee house for 9 months. He was so into this story so we were talking about it for a while. Since then he keeps wanting to see my belly and talking about it, it really is the cutest thing. The last couple of nights he has fell asleep on my belly I think he wants to feel closer to me, I know I feel so connected to him. I just love my wee man so much and, I'm so scared for him going to school. I think I'm scared because, I really don't have good memories of school. I just really didn't fit in well and, I'm scared incase this happens to Harley. I am always angry these days. I am angry and I am stressed. I get super agitated and snap at anyone who ask the same question twice. I am exhausted to a level where I have started having blackouts. At any given time, I am trying to finish a dozen unrelated tasks and sometimes I feel so overwhelmed that my whole body gets numb, and yet I feel veins throbbing in my head. ▫️▫️▫️ I wasn’t always like this. I had my emotions in control and my life in order. I was happy, ambitious and carefree. I was at the peak of my career and then... I decided to procreate. ▫️▫️▫️ I am a mother of two boys now. A two year old and a six month old. My house is a mess 98% of the time. I can’t recall the last time I went out to socialize with my friends. I’ve lost at least half my hair (postpartum hormones) and I am still struggling to lose my pregnancy weight. Nothing in my life seems to be in order EXCEPT my kids. ▫️▫️▫️ Yes, I don’t take their well-being for granted and the reason everything else is off track is because I am doing everything I can to keep their upbringing on track. ▫️▫️▫️ Naturally, I am angry and stressed these days. You think I am angry at my kids? Or I am angry being a mother? No! ▫️▫️▫️ I am angry because as a control freak and a perfectionist, my life has gone completely off balance. I stress out because now I have to let go of things that I would otherwise NOT let go unfinished. ▫️▫️▫️ But you know what? I am working on my emotions now because it is not affecting anyone but me and my health. I don’t want my negative emotions to take the better of me. I want to control them, manage them and harness them to become mentally and physically stronger. I can only do this if I embrace my emotions and not be ashamed of them. ▫️▫️▫️ I am embracing my emotions now & taking part in the Emotional Wellbeing Campaign by @mombloggersunited. We're into the fourth event of @chennaimomtribe at @ispark_11 Gopalpuram. What initially started of as a mother's Day meet in May went on to become a monthly affair all because of synchronous thoughts of three moms @shru_pras @early_momage @docarulmozhi . They decided that me time should be fun and effective. 🥂This time the theme was organic living. We had three speakers from our bloggers community who took their time to enlighten us with some knowledge about what's organic and what is not. ☘️ Kalpana from @kalpavriksha_farms gave us a wonderful talk on how we could cultivate our own crops. Was really inspiring to know her journey. I've been an active follower of hers and meeting her in person was really good. She even mentioned that their food is from farm to table. How wonderful is that? With making soaps, bioenzymes, body butters and deos ,I'm sure she is gonna go a long way. 👩‍👦 Vaishali from @vaivin_dheerasena a fellow mom I've know from the tribe gave us some knowledge about how diaper and sanitary pads are contaminatng landfill and how we can counter that by switching to cloth pads and cloth diapers. 💃Krupa from @ishtyleawhile , gave us a talk on organic skin care range what to believe in and what not to. I completely agree with her when she mentioned what might work for one person will not be the same for the other. Always be aware of your skin type and choose product accordingly and don't blindly follow people or reviews. @ispark_11 gave us a wonderful ambience for the event with surprise events in between which kept the energy levels up and not to mention their healthy snacks which were out of the world. Last but not the least the goody bag was awesome thanks to sponsors @a2z.giftbaskets @ecoindian @sattvabysunita @hungrybumskolkata @ani.katha @lemarchechennai .
