Johnny was reminded the hard way (AFTER I reminded him the easy way about 100x) of why we don’t run around the pool. He actually ran to hop on the diving board, miss stepped, fell, and then smacked into the side of the pool too. 😳 He was a few other small brush burns and bruises from the incident, but none others with blood. I just dropped Harley off at school and now I'm having a wee cuppa. I only had like four hours of sleep last night. So now I'm in two minds. I tell my son everyday that I love him many times. I also tell him he's cute and handsome. And when he does new things and says new things I tell him how good he did and that he worked very hard and is very smart. I do this because I mean it and I love him. I also make sure that I tell him these things because it is important for him to grow up knowing and feeling like he is loved, smart, and confident. I don't want him growing up feeling the way I felt as a child and an adult. I had no confidence at all whatsoever, I felt stupid and ugly and felt shy and like I didn't fit in. It was a hard way to grow up, and I would hate for Harley to go through the same thing. There was so many things that I wanted to do in life and never did. Things that I started and never finished, because of the way I felt inside. Now at this stage of life you think about the stuff you missed out on. I want nothing but the best for my son. Will the words from his mother be enough to help him feel good enough and smart enough. I don't know, I hope so.
