The pain of having beading as hobby - all beading stitches I like require cylindric seedbeads so they would sit tight with no thread showing, but those beads are HELLA EXPENSIVE AAAAA

I don't mind how round beads looks in peyote, or brick, or square stitches, but the freaking thread visible is bothering me. And its pain to pick up the right color of the thread if your project is multicolored.

So transparent monothread is the answer, but it doesn't do well with square stitch. Perhaps I need thicker monotherad? I will try once I get it.

This is easily the “boring” part of creating a search engine. Monothreaded processes can only download one file at a time, and there’s a truckload of ‘em.

I guess the fetching module could be redone to be multithreaded, but I’ve NEVER enjoyed coding that sort of program.

On a side note, you know how ISPs try to woo people with promises of faster internet speeds?

That wouldn’t help here. You see, it doesn’t matter if you’re getting 2 Mbps or 100 Mbps. Each download is dependent on the speed of the service hosting the website and the website itself. If a site takes 20 seconds to compile and output its response, then it’ll take ~22 seconds for your computer to download each page, regardless of the speed your ISP has promised.

Higher speeds only really improve things when you’re downloading a SINGLE large file (eg, streaming Netflix). In that case, faster will be better.
