“The hemulens all share certain character traits: they like order, believe in duty, and strongly feel that rules and regulations should be followed – to the letter.”
That is actually a false encompassing trait. Principal Hemul, who runs a Foundling Home and is the biggest stick in the mud who doesn't have patience for a child with ADHD and is obsessed with cleanliness, is a special case and should not have been taken as an example for the whole species.
“They are prone to obsess over collecting things (whether that be plants, stamps or insects)”
False again. Collections Hemul, who has collected everything in the universe, and his cousin Bugs Hemul, who collects bugs, are special cases and should not have been-
“and tend to be a bit bossy.”
False once more. November Hemul and Officer Hemul, whose whole job is to be bossy, are-
“Most of them lack a sense of humour, but they can also be surprisingly convivial and high-spirited!”
That is Winter Hemul, who-
‘The Hemulen always wore a dress that he had inherited from his aunt. I believe all Hemulens wear dresses. It seems strange, but there you are.’ (Finn Family Moomintroll, 1948)
THAT STEREOTYPE GETS SHATTERED BY MANY LATER HEMULS WHO WEAR PANTS AND-

My Website here!
Here some more Questions and Answers:
What programs and equipment do you use? I use a Wacom Intuos Pro L with Adobe Photoshop!
What brushes do you use? Mainly I use Kyle T. Websters Brushes! They are free and really versatile! I use others as well, but mostly only if I do anything different than my art style
What exactly do you do? I'm currently in my fourth semester of studying Game Design! Feel free to check out the small games that me and other students have made so far: https://slothmotion.itch.io/
Are you fine with NSFW? Yes I am, as long as there is no harmful content (Zoo, Pedos, you know what I mean) I'm fine with Gore as well. Also, I'd rather not see suggestive or NSFW art related to Welcome Home!
Some random fun facts about me:
I have ADHD! I might also be on the Autism Spectrum but I'm not sure about that
I am addicted to nose spray :-:
If I stay awake longer, I'd rather sacrifice my sleep than standing up later than my usual waking up time (I always have to stand up at 7 AM sharp or else my focus will lack for the whole day)
I love to have theoretical knowledge about Enemy AI in games (I think I know everything about every ghost in Phasmophobia, every Monster in Lethal Company, etc.)
(Even if I'm not that skillful in those games lol)
Last but not least, here's a list of the media that I'm interested in:
Welcome Home
Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss
JJBA
Moomins
Five Nights at Freddy's
The Legend of Zelda
Undertale
Lord of the Rings
Splatoon
And many more Games and Series!
If you have any other question, feel free to ask!
Thank you guys for reading this and I hope you like my art! <3

So you want to learn Scottish Gaelic
These are just some resources and organisations I have found/used in my learning so far
Sabhal Mòr Ostaig - The Sabhal Mòr Ostaig is a Gaelic school on the Isle of Skye. They offer both in person and long distance courses in a variety of Gaelic related subjects and a variety of levels. Obviously I wouldn't recommend taking on a full university degree unless you're really interested in that as it's a lot of time, money, commitment etc, but I've listed them because they're a major contributor to the Gaelic learning world. They also have online summer courses for learners of various levels
Duolingo - This is a great starting place. Their Gaelic course was created in partnership with the the Sabhal Mòr Ostaig. The full grammar notes for the course can be found here. From what I've found, this course is estimated to get you to roughly A1 going on A2
LearnGaelic - This website has a mixture of basic grammar intro lessons as well as a dictionary. I find that the dictionary sometimes has trouble filtering relevance of vocab, but overall I find it quite helpful
Gaelic Books Council - The Gaelic Books Council supports Gaelic writers and publishers, promoting and selling Gaelic books in a range of genres. They have both original works, and popular works which have been translated into Gaelic
Acair Books - A Stornoway based publisher of Gaelic, Scots and English books. They have a large selection of children's books which are great for beginner learners, but also have adult books
The Scottish Book Trust - A charity dedicated to reading and writing in all of English, Scots and Gaelic. You can browse their website for a range of poetry, prose, learning resources, writers' awards and fellowships
Am Faclair Beag - The Little Dictionary. I find this dictionary is slightly better at filtering by relevance than the LearnGaelic dictionary, so I often use it to cross reference. LearnGaelic has a tendency to give you the most obscure translation first, whereas Am Faclair Beag will usually prioritise more common translations
Speak Gaelic - Speak Gaelic is a series created by BBC ALBA. There is a YouTube series with Joy Dunlop, a podcast with John Urquhart, and a website with quizzes to test your learning. The initial series is roughly A1, with some of the later episodes aiming for A2. A good intro, though the website is known to be a bit glitchy
Beag air Bheag - Little by Little. Also by the BBC, this is a slightly more advanced series than Speak Gaelic, but hosted by the familiar John Urquhart. I can't find the exact CEFR level, but I seem to remember it being advertised as B1-2
BBC ALBA - The BBC's Scottish Gaelic programs. I occasionally scroll through their iPlayer. Some of the shows have captions which I find helpful, although not all do. Children's TV is always a great way to learn a new language as it is designed with children learning the language in mind. I think I saw they had some Moomin Valley last time I looked
Faclair nan Gèidheal - The Dictionary for Gayls (gay/queer Gaels). This is a great resource filled with a tonne of terminology relating to the LGBTQ+ community. This is where I get vocab like tar-ghnèitheach and neò-bhìnearaidh from
Open Book Reading - An organisation who run Gaelic speaking, reading and writing sessions both in person and online. I'd recommend looking at their Eventbrite page
The Mega Folder - I'm sure people have seen me talk about this before. I'd personally recommend Scottish Gaelic in Twelve Weeks
Editing this to specify that Gaelic means the Scottish variety. If people keep tagging this as Irish I swear to God

guys I miss the moomin renaissance of 2018. we should all go insane about the moomins again. infodumping about the series to unsuspecting irl friends who only watched the 90s anime once when they were 5 will never live up to the experience that was Everyone on this website starting a giant book club where we discussed the themes and political backdrop of a series written 50 years ago, as well as dug up forgotten german and soviet cartoon adaptations of it. it was genuinely the most fun I've ever had on this website and I need it to happen again

hi !!! these drives have a load of deleted moomin fics !!! :) https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1S7VLcWR-OrsmIwwtHpY1zykQYFPLlvHh https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1EDuL7ji1xa01MUbLxq2AAmDe44eGDQj5 you made a post a long time ago talking about different fanfics and youd given all the links so i was able to go down a rabbit hole of deleted moomin fic on the wayback machine and recover a load of fics, i also linked a drive i was dmed last year containting a lot of methdeatals fics like red thicket <3 A LOT of it in the first one is NSFW so i dont wanna post it on my blog lol, i heard people really wanted g0ryllamas works to be recovered so i basically just got everything i could, looking at the tags and summeries im gonna have to like wipe my whole computer after this lmao /j anyways since some of the deleted fics were in that post and u normally post obscure or hard to find moomin content i thought u would probably be the best person to send this too !!! wasnt sure weather to dm u or send u an ask, i dont mind if you make the drives public soo i thought an ask would probably be most convientent !!! feel free to just ignore this ask if u like u dont have to post it i just wanted to send u the fics since you know some of them :) i also have an insane moomin fic archive of hundreds of download files (the majority of it is snufmin) so if u or anyone else is looking for deleted fics u know the titles of i can see if i have them !!!! all the downloads r from i think 2021-2023ish so unforutantley anything deleted back in 2019 wont be on there </3 but might be on one of the drives i linked :D by the way, the files in the second drive are a little confusing, theres a bunch of ways to open them. if u have an apple device, you can easily open epub files in the default books app. you could also look up (any file type here) in any app store and download an app to open that specific filetype in. or u could look up free (insert file type) to pdf websites online and turn them into pdfs (or anything else) !! :)
whoa that's awesome! i don't read moomin fanfic anymore so i probably won't use these but i'll post this for others to see!

hello tumblr-using reader, i'm making this post primarily so that my followers don't think i'm being possessed by a moomin when i post in toki pona, and also to compile useful resources for people who want to learn.
so what is toki pona?
toki pona is a minimalist constructed language created by Sonja Lang and published back in 2001; it started out proposing 120 core words (in the original book known as pu) and adding 61 afterwards (in the follow-up dictionary known as ku). however, the language is alive and constantly changing both through the addition of nimi-sin (nimi sin = new word) by the speakers and new nasin (nasin = way, in this case refers to a personal manner of using toki pona).
recommended resources
nimi.li
my favorite toki pona dictionary, by ilo Tani; it uses data from the Linku survey to determine usage and provides a compact and accessible interface
lipu sona
soweli Tesa’s beautiful and friendly site with lessons for toki pona beginners, includes some link to other people’s courses as well
nasin toki
a core grammar guide with short, clear explanations by kili pan Juli
lipu lili pona
jan Ne’s toki pona cheatsheet featuring phonetics, a simple dictionary and core grammar tennets
naming yourself in toki pona
a very helpful guide from poki Pakapa for people, especially those new to toki pona, who are trying to understand naming conventions in the language and trying to pick a name for themselves. it includes a phonetic tokiponization guide and an overview of common semantic spaces for head words
why all manmade “ma pona” suck
an essay by ilo Mimuki about colonial mindsets in toki pona spaces
lipamanka’s website
a site hosted by lipamanka that has very interesting meta essays, stories, and is the home of the linjamanka font. it also hosts a semantic space dictionary.
ante toki pona’s font tool
a comparative spreadsheet of different toki pona font glyphs and features by jan Ke Tami
telo misikeke
a grammar checker by jan Nikola; it’s not entirely automated, it just looks for common mistakes and stacks them in a way that forces you to correct one before you see if there’s anything else wrong with the proposed solution. it’s a lovely learniang tool and a good first run for proofreading.
categorized word list
jan Tenpi made a resource that I would’ve loved to have when I was learning vocabulary, the categorisation is intuitive and really helps with remembering definitions and sitelen pona
