he wasn't sure how to even approach seeking love and validation from the right people. his own parents had proved themselves to be the wrong people, yet he continued to crave their affections, as much as he refused to admit to it. "how do i look for it in the right people, cam?" he questions with curiosity, head raising to glance over at his friend. one of his best friends. there were not many people he cared about, loved or trusted quite like he did camden. "feel like a fuckin' failure."

people are glancing at them strangely, faint smiles shot in their direction that koa can't help but notice as his attention drifts from whatever thing cree's going on about — he's still listening to the sound of cree's voice, can't help but to, yet his features tug to a gentle frown at the meaningful looks being offered their way. at least until someone nods upwards, brown-eyed gaze following the glance to rest on mistletoe tied perfectly above them. he can feel his cheeks flush gently, glad of the fact that in a relatively poorly-lit party it's difficult to notice as his gaze pulls back to his friend. for all their innocent flirting and occasional touches, it's a line in their friendship they've never crossed — yet that doesn't mean he's never thought about it. waiting for a pause in cree's absurdly long sentence suddenly feels like a lifetime, throat clearing softly at the first available break. “ i, uh... i think maybe the questions on our friendship are about to get more ammo. ” he jokes lightly, as if his heart isn't beating a little faster against his chest, head nodding upwards to draw cree's attention to their sudden issue. it's worse not to do it. more like he's trying to deny something to himself if he isn't willing to lock lips with one of his favourite people. at least that's what koa tells himself as he steps slightly forward to close the gap left between them, hands raising to catch cree's jaw softly as he moves to press his lips to the other male's . it's meant to be quick. a peck. though it turns out pulling away from cree isn't easy, not when he's finally confirming how right it feels to kiss him.

"who told you to stay away?" link asks in irritation. he doesn't ever want cruz to leave. he doesn't want people telling cruz that link's not good for him. as true as it may be. his grip around cruz's waist tightens as he shakes his head. "if you stay away from me i'll find you." link grinned like he was joking. as if he were teasing the other. he didn't think it was different for cruz either. felt like they were on the same page, like cruz would find him if link ever decided to hide. he held that idea close to his chest. "do you ever think that, like, we're getting too old for this game?" it's the kind of question abel only acted when he was floating on cloud nine, all laughs and lacking any kind of seriousness. not that the behavior was that much different than when he was sober. before waiting for a response, abel took his turn attempting to pop the ball into one of the red solo cups in front of him. "or maybe we at least should catch up with the modern age and feel the cups with water rather than beer?" not that he was ever all too concerned with sanitation, the questions being posed at a frequent pace without an expectation for any kind of real response.

don't want to panic you at all but i'm kind of obsessed with every single one of these.

isaiah fleming + noelle oliveria: for a little bit of background, noelle is a surgical intern who worked as a stripper to help pay off medical school bills / student loans. i could see this duo being super protective of each other. ride or die vibes. noelle would also love his mom ( she lost her mom during childbirth and only has her dad; he's the chief of police but doesn't know about her strip job ).

collette rayes + kevin pearson: two of the most gorgeous humans ever are you kidding me, uhm okay ??? kevin is an actor, collette is a wedding planner, they could have a totally cute run-in at a wedding where something goes wrong and kevin helps save the day and then absolutely asks for the wedding planner's number. cliché but he totally would and this ship is giving romcom vibes.

kyro lee + betty parker: two golden retriever muses who just want to make each other happy. betty has been a little bit unlucky with relationships but she believes in true love with her whole heart. she would have a love/hate relationship with kyro's career because she wouldn't want him to get hurt but she would always support his dreams.

warren randolph + emmett healy: two rich boys with questionable morals? enough said really. upper crust circles, 'make each other worse' trope. reckless because they can be. emmett is irish, comes from new money, has two younger sisters he's very protective of. this duo would be messy, confrontational and hot af tbh.

samantha carpenter + paxton drakes: my brain just immediately went 'SCREAM AU' because of paxton's fc. this might actually be fun though? paxton and sam could've gone to high school together ( sam went off the rails when she found out she was billy loomis' kid, lot of partying, drug abuse etc ) maybe they reunite when paxton's on a break from touring but a new ghostface threat appears? maybe one of his band's fans is murdered? could be interesting!

"what are you doing here?" imogen turned towards her friends that were a few hundred feet away at the bonfire, just before looking back at the other. hesitation in her eyes yet some sort of intrigue all the same.
