More Whimsical Worlds

Because my life can always use more Old Timey Whimsy, my favourite Sims worlds are all getting new names and makeovers. A redecorated and madeover Windenburg, now Port Cobbleton, is still taking shape. I'm happiest with how the modern waterfront area looks now. I had always found the original tacky beyond all reason and am so happy to share that by layering some parts of the Medieval Windenburg mod with the Timeless mod, I've managed to make it look a little more whimsical and fictional, like something from My Time at Portia or Final Fantasy 9. The town will serve as the main hood, so to speak, with the other worlds acting as places to visit, although they are all so cute in their own way now, they're gonna get their own save file so I can play out stories in each of them. Theoretically, anyway. Its almost June, do I really believe I'll actually play the game at this point before Paralives comes out? Who knows?

Anyway, Moonwood Mills, now creatively renamed Moonwood Village, is shaping up to be a very cute little medieval hamlet. I love looking at medieval Sims gameplay, (my god do I miss looking through plumbob keep) although I probably won't do it in earnest. So alluding to it here in one world is the best I can manage for now. And lastly, like every good millennial Simmer, I've just never moved on from Makin Magic, so Glimmerbrook gets a very Magic Town inspired makeover! Of course the sheer madness and wonder of seeing Magic Town and all its kooky residents for the first time will never happen again (Vicky Vampiress almost made me straight I swear) but with enough red and yellow wallpaper and non functional fairy lights, it just might.

🦷 Grimtooth Cabins

These cabins formerly housed lumber mill employees but are now owned by the Grimtooth family. This small Wildfang-favoring community has 4 cabins for rent & 1 communal cabin that includes an indoor grill and game room, as well as private accommodations for the werewolf who gets a little too rowdy around the full moon. While the facilities don't have many fancy features, there is plenty to do around in the gardens & bonfire pit with neighbors.

There's a for-rent sign outside of Cabin C. Everyone here rolls with the Wildfangs, and they seem friendly though a little blunt and sometimes irritable. All cabins are move-in ready, though you may have to throw away some trash.

Does it ever drive you crazy, just how fast the night changes...

Alongside addressing general wolf-lore, my next "Deep Dive" post will have an entire section on Jacob Volkov, Lou Howell, Rory Oaklow, and Celene López due to the significant role they play in my personal story and lore around Moonwood Mill. The lore I have for them spans a pretty decent chunk of time, ranging roughly from the time Jacob is 13 - younger than we see here - up until they're all in their 40s (which is where I always start my werewolf save), and there's no better way for me to illustrate that than a visual aid!

Note: The top row is Jacob Volkov, second row is Lou Howell, the third row is Rory Oaklow, and the fourth row is Celene López. The first column depicts each of them as teens (a flashback for the older three, but where Jacob is when you start the game), second column they are young adults (a flash into the future for Jacob, but where the game picks up for Lou/Rory/Celene), and the third and final column depicts them as "older" adults.

I've included full body shots of their outfits below the cut for those who are curious. <3

TARTOSA & MOONWOOD MILL : BOTH WORLDS ARE HERE :) SAN SEQUOIA IS ON ITS WAY ...

So, as said and shown in our previous post : Tartosa, the Wedding World and Moonwood Mill are finished and ready to download :)

TARTOSA : All grounds are now textured ! Some sidewalks were changed for a better look ( we think so ... Hope you'll like it )

Because of the light and many maxis glitches, we made more changes in Tartosa than expected ...But to get the mark to be an Italian getaway, we took some artistic liberties. We think the end result is not bad. It is clean, yet authentic and old looking. Tartosa now exults in lazy walks and languorous evenings ;)

Unsurprisingly, some files are connected to the Base-game : you have to re-download the K-505 base-game AND the K-606 files to get all the details <--- we made a silent update :)

Why a silent update ? Because, in order to update the whole K-Mods and be ready for the next expansion, we have to update many many files : it will be the case during all our Bold November and certainly in December too :D

MOONWOOD MILL : Compared to Tartosa, Moonwood Mill textures redux was much more enjoyable to do :) A bit tricky sometimes but so much grass ! and we love grass ! so much than we really have to update the K-707 as soon as possible :D

In order to get new wood roofs, and the updated wood floors, we updated the K-606 AND the K-101 files to get all the details <--- we made silent updates :)

SAN SEQUOIA : San Sequoia is coming :) soon :) very soon :) what else ?

Remember : Just as always, there’e … unexpected surprises. We had to make some changes into some other K-Mods to get it right. So, don't be mad, we try to make all this as convenient as possible for you, and we are not responsible for Maxis glitches and changes ;)

Moonwood Village

Moonwood Mills, to be fair, was always a pretty cool place. But, with the Blowtorch Mod, I was taken aback by how much it had really become the blankest canvas I've seen in the Sims 4 thus far. Sulani is a close second. My game's era isn't medieval, it's pretty much early 20th century fantasy, but I couldn't resist turning Moonwood Mills into a cute little hamlet of quiet farmer folk on one side of the river, and all manner of forest dwellers on the other.
