Mortiic had given his all when joining the Gumm Gumms. To clarify, he gave up all that he had, and abandoned everything he’d known, in his old life to join this tribe of rebels. His family he left behind, his friends he chose to forget, they wouldn’t follow him.

Mortiic knew this and, at the time, thought he understood what the changing of sides would mean. He wanted to fight, the humans were a menace, a true threat of extinction. It frustrated him how no one could see that the fleshbags were too confident, and too many while still growing exponentially in numbers. It angered him even more that they all seemed to know this, they knew that while they were dwindling the weak little fleshy parasites were thriving off of their demise, and they were just too content to allow it to happen. So of course he changed to the ones who were defending his people. Their people.

And what did he get for it…? Mortiic felt like they were in some kind of horrific dream, a nightmare, where he was just forced to watch himself walking towards the precipice. Looking down, he wanted to scream. He wanted to be with his friends again, he wanted to meet up with his brother for drinks like they used to, he wanted to turn around and run in other direction.

Instead he took a step forward, and fell.
