Other Notable NPCs
(last updated 4/10/25!)
This post will be a quick rundown of all the other relevant NPCs introduced in the main storyline of the game so far. Note that Palace Rulers have been moved to their own post here!
School-Related
Mr. Hakozaki (left) is class 2C's science teacher. He's somewhat jumpy, and admits he doesn't spend a lot of time around other people, even idolizing a historical scientist who never shared the results of his research with anyone. Still, he seems extremely passionate about the science he teaches, even if he's anxious about actually teaching it to a group of students.
Mr. Shimonuma (right) is class 2C's civics teacher. He doesn't seem to have much faith in his students, and primarily enjoys when they don't know an answer, so he can correct them. He's stern in a slightly sadistic way, though he hasn't yet been seen to go so far as throwing chalk at his students (like Ushimaru does to Joker); it's all verbal.
Mr. Endo (left) is class 2C's English teacher. He's somewhat casual, with a slightly disinterested vibe, but he evidently know his subject, and doesn't seem to be slacking on teaching it. Still, he complains about the strangeness of English sometimes, and once mentions that he wishes the whole world spoke Esperanto.
Ms. Taniyama (right) is class 2C's world history teacher. She's friendly, and seems gentle with her students, while of course displaying a knowledge of and interest in her subject. She seems to have some interest in various forms of divination, though it only comes up offhandedly.
Mr. Nagara (left) is class 2C's literature teacher. He's very passionate and enthusiastic about his subject, and seems to generally feel emotions deeply. At the same time, he seems somewhat prone to tangents. He's the type to laugh at his own jokes, and is overall very reactive.
Kokatsu's Dean of Student Affairs is a man named Yamanashi (right). Yamanashi has a level of authority at the school, but he's still quick to become nervous if questioned or called out in any way, even if he stubbornly puts his foot down about whatever is under question. He tends to push any work he can off to Riko Tanemura (and then brag about how capable she is), and is quick to follow Akashi's new policies when they sound like they're in line with what the school wants, without much critical thinking.
His Shadow later appears in the third Palace, as Akashi's victim after Katayama, though his desires aren't strong or distorted enough to provide much power. Still, the Phantom Thieves manage to inspire a change of heart in him without stealing his Treasure, and the real-world Akashi resigns at the end of Chapter 3.
Other
Merope is Wonder's Velvet Room attendant. Though she has a very calm, collected, and straightforward demeanor, she is very dedicated to helping him however she can, including coming up with the idea of (and creating) the Phantom Idols that help him in combat.
She is also a Confidant of his, and it revolves around her "special project" to help improve his skills further. However, she is very interested in idols and idol culture- apparently believing them to be similar to the role Wonder plays- and much of her "special project" focuses on teaching Wonder more about idols, and how to be more like one. She is not only focused on being a good idol mentor towards Wonder, but also on herself being a proper idol fan, and refers to having done extensive research on the subject, though in practice she's evidently missing a bit of practical knowledge.
Merope seems to have a fondness for Wonder that may edge into romantic territory, though she's not romanceable. She casually refers to them doing things similar to what a couple might do- such as when they ride a ferris wheel together- and asks Wonder about it. However, as she tends to keep a very matter-of-fact tone, it's difficult to say whether she's actually flirting, or simply gauging his own reaction to understand him better.

Marthym is a humanoid shadow that mainly dwells in Mementos. She is a self-described businesswoman, and notably runs the in-game store that takes actual money, as well as allowing players to buy gacha pulls.
Marthym's main story role seems to be her loose function as a guide to Mementos. She explains to the Phantom Thieves how to open up areas using tickets collected on that floor, and mentions that this benefits her as well as them, though she doesn't clarify how.
She also introduces the player to Paradise, which is an area where the player can see their guild, and includes special rotating boss fights that give extra rewards. Again, this seems to be explained as part of her business.
Yamagoshi is the owner of the restaurants Toraiken and Ashouken, and has been running them for a long time, though his wife passed away at some point after their opening but prior to an elementary-school-aged Shun visiting. Miyazawa particularly harasses Yamagoshi, as he wants to be given ownership of Ashouken, especially after Yamagoshi fell ill.
Shun sees him as a surrogate father, and Yamagoshi evidently cares a lot about him as well, as he set aside an heirloom to be given to Shun when he turned 18. [In Wonder's vision, when Shun loses the competition and is declared a phantom, Yamagoshi dies of a heart attack.]
Yamagoshi seems to believe in teaching others, as he opened Ashouken specifically with the intention of it being a place for his employees to learn. He also believes in authentic flavor for his food, and is very proud of the restaurants' ramen's signature taste.
Masa is the person currently running the ramen restaurant Ashouken, though Yamagoshi actually owns it.
Masa is an apprentice of Yamagoshi's, and believes strongly in the same principles as he does. It's mentioned his dream is to open his own restaurant. He's familiar with Shun, and seems fond of him. Prior to the start of the game, however, Masa began to give into Miyazawa's demands for ingredient changes and bribes, even as it ruined Ashouken's food, because he didn't want Yamagoshi's restaurant to die completely.
After trying Shun's ramen in the competition Miyazawa challenged him to, he seems to have come to his senses, and becomes much more willing to stand up to Miyazawa, even if it risks his job. Masa is also the one to inform Shun when Miyazawa formally apologizes.
Masa later reveals that he and Katayama were friends in high school, and delinquents at the time. They seem to still keep in touch, as when Miyazawa got Shun fired from Ashouken, Katayama came to Masa to ask what happened.

*Maria gets a call from the police department* Maria: Jensen residence, Maria speaking. Officer: Good afternoon, Mrs. Jensen. This is Officer Romero. Is Mr. Jensen there?
Maria: He’s on his way home from work, but I can let him know you called. Officer Romero: That’s fine. I’m calling to inform him that Augustus Raine Jensen has escaped from prison, last night.
Maria: ¡Por la observadora! Have you guys been able to track his location?! Officer Romero: Unfortunately, he seems to have vanished overnight. The department and the Bureau of Inspection are actively searching right now as we speak.
*Susanna and Ekant walk in, unaware of the situation* Ekant: What do you think happened, Sue? Susanna: Merrick probably fucked himself up doing a segment for his show. Ekant: Knowing him, that’s the most likely scenario.
Ekant: From what Linnie was telling us, he roped her into being a producer. Susanna: No shit? Ekant: Linnie’s dream was to be a TV show producer and artist. I guess this is her start to fame on the small screen. Susanna: Whatever makes them happy. I just can’t wait to see him collaborate with Pow Santoro and sneak up on Ben or May Santoro in the night. I’ve got plans for that good night. *Ekant and Susanna share a laugh, as Ben walks through the door*
Benjamin: I’m home, Honey!

Ramana Maharshi (1879-1950), the Indian sage who was widely regarded as a Jivanmukta
Jivanmukta
In Advaita Vedanta, the interest is not in liberation in after life, but in one's current life. This school holds that liberation can be achieved while living, and a person who achieves this is called a Jivanmukta.
The concept of Jivanmukti of Advaita Vedanta contrasts with Videhamukti (moksha from samsara after death) in theistic sub-schools of Vedanta.
Jivanmukti is a state that transforms the nature, attributes and behaviors of an individual, after which the liberated individual shows attributes such as:
he is not bothered by disrespect and endures cruel words, treats others with respect regardless of how others treat him;
when confronted by an angry person he does not return anger, instead replies with soft and kind words;
even if tortured, he speaks and trusts the truth;
he does not crave for blessings or expect praise from others;
he never injures or harms any life or being (ahimsa), he is intent in the welfare of all beings;
he is as comfortable being alone as in the presence of others;
he is as comfortable with a bowl, at the foot of a tree in tattered robe without help, as when he is in a mithuna (union of mendicants), grama (village) and nagara (city);
he does not care about or wear sikha (tuft of hair on the back of head for religious reasons), nor the holy thread across his body. To him, knowledge is sikha, knowledge is the holy thread, knowledge alone is supreme. Outer appearances and rituals do not matter to him, only knowledge matters;
for him there is no invocation nor dismissal of deities, no mantra nor non-mantra, no prostrations nor worship of gods, goddess or ancestors, nothing other than knowledge of Self;
he is humble, high spirited, of clear and steady mind, straightforward, compassionate, patient, indifferent, courageous, speaks firmly and with sweet words.

2020 Picture Book Update

Hello fellow readers! I’ve been busy reading for the Magical Readathon (see that post here) but I’ve been fitting in so many wonderful picture books as well! What have you been reading? Here are a few of my favorites from the past two weeks:
Antiracist Baby by Ibram X. Kendi (Author) & Ashley Lukashevsky (Illustrator): I have been recommending this book to folks at work left and right. I don’t care how old you are - the message in this board book is incredibly powerful.
Can I Give You a Squish? by Emily Neilson: Are you ready to start talking about consent early with your kiddos? THIS BOOK IS THE ONE. Neilson lets us follow a little merchild as they go around giving squishes, but quickly learn that not everyone wants a squish - and that’s ok!
The End of Something Wonderful: A Practical Guide to a Backyard Funeral by Stephanie V.W. Lucianovic (Author) & George Ermos (Illustrator): Talking to kids about death can be quite difficult, but this book helps make it a bit easier with a little humor, wonderful artwork, and a how-to guide on grieving for your lost pets. <3
The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore by William Joyce (Author) & Joe Bluhm (Illustrator): I’ve loved this book for a long time! It has a wonderful film adaptation, but the book speaks volumes for itself. It’s witty and so full of life. The power of storytelling takes root with this book as Mr. Morris Lessmore discovers the beauty in each story.
I read so many other awesome books these past two weeks too but so little time to mention all of them. Definitely check out these awesome authors though. They all have WONDERFUL works for a variety of age groups, too:

Cultural Tour to Japan 2019
As a coordinator, I started enquiring about possible cultural exchange programmes between Japan and my homestate Manipur, India. Through my friend Mr. Ichiro Takahashi of International University of Japan (IUJ), I got acquainted with Mr. Tokio Hasegawa, Director of Mithila Museum, Tokamachi, Niigata Ken, Japan during my IUJ days as an MA student in 2010-2011.
This year, it was on 14th June 2019 that I started discussing for cultural exchange over the phone for the first time with Mr. Hasegawa and we never looked back since then. Almost everyday, we talked over the phone for long hours about the programmes and performances.
Things became taking shape gradually day by day after much discussion and exchange of talks. I had to co-ordinate for the Cultural Troupe of Manipur on behalf of the Department of Art & Culture, Government of Manipur.
Finally, a decision had been made to send a troupe of 24 people including 9 students and 2 Senior Lecturers of Government Dance College, 2 officials of Department of Art & Culture, the State Culture Minister, 1 Coordinator, 1 terracotta artist and other accompanying persons from 26th September to 11th October 2019. Out of these, the first 15 persons were sponsored by the State Government, the 16th by the host organizer in Japan and the rest were self financed.
The initial days before the tour were not free from obstacles. Till a week before the scheduled departure, I had to take help from my nephew Vicky Ningombam who is in Fukuoka in collecting original documents from Niigata and sending it to Delhi from Tokyo via a passenger of Air India for visa purpose. My heartfelt thanks to my IUJ friend Mr. Takahashi who, despite being requested at the last minute, helped me by taking my nephew from IUJ to Mithila museum to collect documents from Mr. Hasegawa san. Till morning of 24th September, we didn’t get our visa for Japan. Despite his extremely busy schedule in arranging Namaste India events, Mr. Hasegawa was very kind enough to respond to my innumerable calls and made sure to send necessary documents till the last moment. On the other hand, I had to seek support from Mr. Satoshi Yonemaru, First Secretary, Embassy of Japan, New Delhi who extended help in all possible ways despite our documentation issues and limited time for visa processing. Let me show my gratitude to the First Secretary for such act of kindness. I could breathe a sigh of relief only on 24th evening when I recieved an email from Mr. Yonemaru with guarantee for issuance of visa the next day morning at 10.30 am. To make sure the timely collection of our passports with visa, Deputy Director (Programme), Art & Culture Department, Mr. Gurumayum Dharmadas Sharma left Imphal for Delhi on 25th afternoon and joined the troupe in Kolkata on 25th night itself for international flight. Finally we had our much awaited passport with visa stamped in hand.
On 25th September, a huge can of fermented soyabeans ( called hawaizar in Manipuri and natto in Japanese) had been packed with utmost care as a souvenir for our host organizer, Mr. Hasegawa who had made special request for the same.
With lots of excitement and enthusiasms, we all met at the Tulihal Airport, Changaangei for departure on 25th afternoon for Kolkata from where we took Thai Airways for Narita Airport, Tokyo.

On 26th afternoon 3.45 pm Japan time, we reached Narita where we were greeted by Mr. Hasegawa whose eyes gleamed with happiness to see us especially the artists. He guided us to the specially arranged micro bus loaded with water, dispo glasses and tissue papers and other materials such as sleeping bags, cook wares, and groceries, heading for Kuonji temple accomodation, Gunma Ken. Wow, 21 out of 24 troupe members were experiencing Japan for the first time!!
While we were on the way to Gunma which is nearly 2 hours drive from Tokyo, we had a brief stop for dinner at a Japanese restaurant.
We stayed at the Kuonji temple for the first 6 nights. Our host Mr. Nagara and Mrs. Nagara were very kind and hospitable.

Next we stayed at Kiyotayama lodge, Tokamachi, Suhara Lodge, Kariya and Tsuruga city.

The main programmes were the Namaste India Festivals in Tokyo on 28-29 September and Kariya city on 6 October. Other programmes were at various cities namely Tokamachi, Sanjo City, Niigata, Kyoto, Tsuruga city with final performance to be made at Higashi Osaka Cultural Creation Hall in Osaka on 10th October.
We were fortunate to have our Honourable Minister, Art & Culture, Government of Manipur Shri Langpoklakpam Jayantakumar Singh in our troupe. The Honourable Minister shared dias with the Indian Ambassador to Japan, HE Mr. Sanjay Kumar Verma and inaugurated the grand Namaste India festival in Tokyo on 28th September.

One unique thing about this tour was that we had to cook our own food. Except that of Tsuruga city, all other residence had very well equipped cooking amenities and dining hall.
Sometimes we had to travel very long distances for performance and make meals after coming back. Some of the days, therefore, were hectic. Our artists, however, made sure to perform at their best level. In fact, our troupe’s performances got much appreciation from the organisers and the audience in almost all the events. There were non-stop rounds of applause for performances such as Thang-Ta and Ras Leela dance. The magical rendition in melodious voice in typical Manipuri style by Mrs. Angella Yengkhom was an icing on the cake. The energetic duet by Guru G. Loken Sharma and oja Brajakumar Singh Laishram , both Senior Lecturer, Government Dance College, Manipur leaves everyone mesmerized.

The very evening of 1st October was fixed for dinner party by the Indian Ambassador to Japan at his residence in Tokyo. It was an excellent informal party with delicious Indian cuisine which we all relished. Mr. Abung Sharma and Ms. Indu Huirem briefly showed their martial arts skills which the onlookers enjoyed heartily.
Selecting and buying our own choice of vegetables and other foods from well organised Japanese Supa ( super market ) and cooking to meet our taste was something which we all enjoyed. Depending on the accomodation, we cooked only veg or both veg and non veg and we included lots of edamame (fresh soyabeans boiled), sweet potatoes, breads, milk, curds, natto, tofu in out diets apart from vegetables, fruits, dal, eggs and chicken.

Our host organizer, Mr. Hasegawa who himself had a good knowledge about Indian culture and food habits, provided us with varieties of Indian dal, pickles, and spices and that was a bonus.
Hasegawa family was kind enough to prepare food for our troupe couple of times, as sometimes there was not enough time for us to cook. They made sure we eat good food and be satisfied with the amount of food, as Japan is very expensive and eating outside might not be that satisfying in terms of both taste and quantity.
In all the residential places and performance sites, we had to maintain very strict rules regarding trash disposal, where and where not to wear outside footwears and room slippers and shower time and so on. In few instances, embarassing situations turned up especially at Kyoto due to messing up with garbage segregation despite clear instructions. My word of thanks and gratitude to Ms. Reiko Furuichi, Official Secretary, Consulate General of India, Osaka-Kobe for her cooperation and patience.
Though it was a cultural tour, we didn't lose the opportunity to see some of the most beautiful and unique sight seeing places of Japan. Just after the two day Namaste India festival was over, we spent one day exploring nearby places in Gunma Ken itself, especially for the children. There was this strange slanting house, little dark and seems a bit abunai ( Japanese word for dangerous ). It was for fun and not exactly a haunted place, though. It was on the first of October that we all prepared and packed khichri, sandwich, fried vegetables along with pickles before going to Tokyo Sky Tree. Wow, what a fine architecture it is, with cutting-edge Japanese building technology. With a height of 634 metres, it is the tallest free-standing broadcasting tower in the world. This was my third visit to the tower yet its charm never stops enthralling me. While for most other teammates, it was the first time. Everybody was in awe of the beautiful structure and could not stop taking numerous photographs. Later we went to Asakusa's famed Kaminarimon with souvenir shops along the street. We could spot many beautiful young ladies in colourful and bright kimonos. Our boys excitedly stood besides them for photographs. Then we ended the day with the dinner at the Indian Ambassador's residence. On 2nd of October, we left Gunma Ken for Niigata. After having lunch at an Italian restaurant, we reached Echigo Tumari Cultural Hall around 2 pm. It was a well equipped auditorium with excellent sound proof system. While our team was doing sound check and rehearsal, few of us left for Kiyotayama lodge in Tokamachi where we were going to stay for the next three nights. There were five seperate log houses to be shared amongst us. Each house was equipped with a small kitchenette, rest room, a balcony, a living room and a bed room which was on the first floor. It was on the 2nd October night that my UMEX friends Mrs. Takahashi, Mrs. Bandai and one of their friends and my IUJ friend Mr. Takahashi came to watch our performance. As our logde was a bit far and our babies got asleep, we couldn't go back to our performance site. It was so unfortunate to have missed the opportunity to meet my friends. They, however, expressed much admiration for our performance. They even met my husband and clicked photographs together. Shimin plaza, Niigata was where our team performed the next day. On 4th, we went to Mithila Museum which is located in a scenic mountainous location in Oike, Tokamachi. This museum has the world's best collection of Madhubani and Warli paintings and also the terracotta pottery made by the legendary ima (L) Laishram Nilamani Devi of Manipur. The museum director, Mr. Hasegawa gave each one of us a Namaste India T-Shirt which we all received happily with thanks. On the way, we dropped by Kiyotsu park where our director sir enjoyed Japanese onsen (hot spring) which is unique culture of Japan. The warm hospitality extended to us by Mr. Hasegawa and his family has left a deep impact on each one of us. Mr. Hasegawa and his son Mr. Munna Hasegawa drove us to our destinations including very far off places and did perfect coordination to make our trip a huge success. Such humble manner and attitude teach us a great lesson in life that is to remain committed to our work in whatever circumstances that may come up. I vividly remember it was on 30th September that Mr. Hasegawa met with an accident while coming in the micro bus to Kuonji temple to pick us up. But he was so calm and composed and managed everything so smoothly as if nothing had happened. Such was his personality. I salute you, sir.
Mrs. Laishram Pramo Devi whom we fondly address as eche (sister in Manipuri) was not just a terracotta artist but was a big sister to everyone in the troupe. Her dedication to work and support to the team in every possible aspect need a special mention. Thank you eche.

Though I have not mentioned every one’s name, each one has done a splendid job and contribution made by every single person matters and is the sole reason for the very success of the tour. Nonetheless, my sincere appreciation goes to Mr. Somorjit Laiphrakpam for his wholehearted dedication to work in relations to costume preparation for the performers apart from taking part as an artist.

I would like to thank my friends Sachi and her husband Tomohisa san, Mrs. Chiellilynn Ogawa, Aparna Ganesh and her family, Mohit Buddhiraja and his wife Yuki Chan, Mrs. Kazuko Takahashi and UMEX friends including Mrs. Fusako Bandai, Rajkumar Bobo Luwangcha, Reina Saito Chan and her family and Ichiro Takahashi San for taking out their time to visit us at performance sites.
With the leadership of Mr. Aribam Shivadas Sharma, Director, Art & Culture Department, and under the strict guidance and well thought out choreography of guru G. Loken Sharma, the Cultural tour of Japan 2019 closed its first edition with a grand success on 10th October. The students did rigorous trainings and rehearsals under Guru Loken for many weeks and in fact months before the actual performance. I personally visited dance college quite often to see the rehearsals. Further, as a part of coordination, I took interaction session with the troupe members on manners and culture of Japan as a preparation before our departure for the beautiful country.
Finally, we left Japan from Chubu Centrair International Airport, Nagoya on 11th October, at 11 am having a narrow escape from the fiery Hagibis typhoon that hit Central Japan on 13th October. We sincerely pray for Japan and express our solidarity at such difficult time. Ganbaro Nippon!!
The tour seems to end. However the fact is that it opens up a new chapter for further cultural exchange programmes between Japan and Manipur in future. The Japanese cultural troupe is eagerly awaited for the upcoming Sangai festival of Manipur in November 2019. And hence the journey begins.

The story of the world’s 1st poet- Rishi Valmiki

The finest Indian poets, saints, and sages have been witnessed throughout history. Maharishi Valmiki is one of the identities that did stand out the most. Rishi Valmiki is known as Adi Kavi in Sanskrit literature. This means he was the first poet. He was the first person to write the epic Ramayana, which is one of the most well-known Hindu texts.

Valmiki’s birth
People who have something to do with Maharishi’s life disagree about something. According to one interpretation of Nagara Khanda from the Skanda Purana, he was born into a Brahmin family and given the name Lohajangha. He had a wife who loved him. To keep his family from going hungry during the twelve years of drought in their hamlet, he began robbing people.
Lohajangha once attempted to rob Saptarishi, a group of seven sages. However, Pulatsya Rishi, a Saptarishi, gives Lohajangha a mantra. Valmiki acquired his name from the ant hill or Valmika that covered his body after years of severe austerity and mantra recitation.
Rishi Valmiki was born in Sumali or Pracheta to a Rishi Bhrigu gotra Brahmin household named Agni Sharma. Ratnakar Daku was his name when he started stealing from people after a while. When he met Narada muni, they talked about his responsibilities. Agni Sharma started doing austerity and reciting a mantra called “Mara,” which means “death,” because he was so interested in what Narada thought and said.
After doing penance for many years, this Mara changed into Rama, but his body is still covered by an anthill. Because of this, he got a new name: Valmiki.
Works of philosophy
Valmiki rishi’s Adi Kavya (First Poem) Ramayana was one of the best things he ever did. The Ramayana is the first poem ever written in Sanskrit. Valmiki’s epic Ramayana is made up of 24000 shlokas and 7 cantos. It tells about everything that happened in Lord Rama’s life, from his birth to his 14 years of living in the forest. Ravana kidnapped Sita, and then there was a war between Rama’s army of monkeys and Ravan’s army. When the war was over, Lord Rama left this world.
Some Indian philosophers also thought that Yoga Vashista was written by Rishi Valmiki. Yoga Vashista is a conceptual story about what the sage Vashista and Lord Rama talked about. There are six books by Yoga Vasistha. Each one talks about different events and parts of life, such as Rama’s disappointment in nature and the suffering of people, Rama’s urge for salvation, other people who also want to be free, spiritual ways to be free, and the importance of people’s willpower and creativity.
His Role in Ramayana
Sage Valmiki was a very important part of the Ramayana, according to Uttara Kanda, which was taken from Sesha Ramayana. Rishi Valmiki let Devi Sita stay in his ashram after she was sent away. At the rishi’s ashram, where Devi Sita gave birth, Lava and Kusha were taught the Ramayana by their guru Valmiki.

Cultural Impacts
Maharishi’s philosophical art affected the arts and cultures of many places in the Indian subcontinent and some sections of the southeast. It inspired writers and poets from different cultures to rewrite Valmiki’s Ramayana in their language. It includes Ramacharitamanas, Krittivasi Ramayan, Molla Ramayanam, Torave Ramayana, and Kambaramayanam in Tamil, Telegu, Kannada, and Bengali, respectively (Awadhi).
On the walls of shrines and stones, different scenes from the Ramayan were carved. The stone in Nagarjunkonda, Andhra Pradesh, which depicts the encounter between Lord Rama and Bharata, would make the ideal illustration. Valmiki’s influence on the Ramayana can be seen in movies, TV shows, music videos, theatres, paintings, books, and temples today. Today, Hindus all over the world watch Ramlila, a dramatic version of the Ramayana, which is performed in India.
Rishi Valmiki has a temple in Tiruvanmiyur, Chennai, that has been there for 1300 years.
Maharishi Valmiki’s lessons
Maharishi taught us to follow Dharma and Karma through Ramayana:
Always tell the truth.
The truth will prevail despite how strong evil may be.
Unity makes people stronger.
Similar to Rama’s family, despite the circumstances separating them, their hearts remained united, which enabled them to overcome obstacles.
Honor your obligations with loyalty.
Follow the right path.
Respect and be kind to other people.
See and treat all animals the same.
Never hang out with or get close to a bad person.
Peace and harmony come from being able to forgive.

*Susanna has just changed out of her dress into a simple robe, when Ekant walks in*
Susanna: Well, Mr. Chandra, I’d say that was a nice wedding, wouldn’t you? Ekant: You know it, Mrs. Chandra.
Ekant: Now for the part I’ve been waiting for... *Ekant starts kissing Susanna on the neck*
Susanna: Oh my watcher! Ekant... oh watcher!
Susanna (cont’d): Well since it’s our wedding night, why not perform our own little *clears throat* bedding ceremony?
*Susanna slips her robe off*
Ekant: Ohh my! Yes!
Susanna: Shall we? Ekant: *purrs like a cat in heat*
*Ekant quickly takes his boxer briefs off, and pins Susanna to the wall...*

Jivanmukta
No Advaita Vedanta, o interesse não está na libertação depois da vida, mas sim na vida atual. Esta escola sustenta que a libertação pode ser alcançada enquanto se vive, e uma pessoa que a atinge é chamada de Jivanmukta.
O conceito de Jivanmukti do Advaita Vedanta contrasta com Videhamukti (moksha do samsara após a morte) nas sub-escolas teístas do Vedanta.
Jivanmukti é um estado que transforma a natureza, atributos e comportamentos de um indivíduo, após o qual o indivíduo liberado apresenta atributos como:
ele não se incomoda com o desrespeito e suporta palavras cruéis, trata os outros com respeito, independentemente de como os outros o tratam;
quando confrontado por uma pessoa com raiva, ele não responde com raiva, em vez disso responde com palavras suaves e gentis;
mesmo se torturado, ele fala e confia na verdade;
ele não anseia por bênçãos nem espera elogios dos outros;
ele nunca fere ou prejudica qualquer vida ou ser (ahimsa), ele está empenhado no bem-estar de todos os seres;
ele se sente tão confortável sozinho quanto na presença de outras pessoas;
sente-se tão confortável com uma tigela, debaixo de uma árvore, de manto esfarrapado, e sem ajuda, como quando está numa mithuna (associação de mendicantes), grama (aldeia), ou nagara (cidade);
ele não se preocupa com, nem usa, sikha (tufo de cabelo na parte de trás da cabeça por motivos religiosos), nem o fio sagrado no seu corpo. Para ele, o conhecimento é sikha, o conhecimento é o fio sagrado, o conhecimento sozinho é supremo. As aparências externas e os rituais não importam para ele, apenas o conhecimento importa;
para ele não há invocação nem rejeição de divindades, nem mantra nem não-mantra, nem prostrações nem adoração de deuses, deusa ou ancestrais, nada além do conhecimento do Ser;
ele é humilde, espirituoso, de mente clara e estável, direto, compassivo, paciente, indiferente, corajoso, fala com firmeza e com palavras doces.

Sonny Boy – 05 – The Creator

If you thought Sonny Boy was going to pick up right where it left off with the Bond Girl-like arrival of a teacher (like ahem me) well…you haven’t been paying proper attention. Sonny Boy, you see, picks up where and when it feels like it: in this case, a 2D Pac-Man-like world that Nagara, Nozomi, Asakaze and Mizuho manipulate in order to “liberate” all of the digital mice.

Their “reward” for “conquering” (i.e. clearing) this world is a corded desktop mouse with the power to unravel things, from computer code to sweaters. Turns out each time a world is conquered, a new power is “unlocked”. Back at Rajdhani’s lab on the beach, he’s recording and cataloguing all of the team’s successes and failures, gradually narrowing down what can and can’t be done…slowly unraveling the big tangle that is their predicament.

The rest of the class probably would have tolerated this as long as they were kept fed and busy, but along came that Aki-sensei, who claims to have been sent by “God” and only seems to be their to stir up some shit. She immediately plays favorites with Asakaze, and encourages him to take up the mantle of the class’s savior. With him, she’s less Swiss Family Robinson and more Mrs. Robinson.

She also insists that no matter what they do, none of the students will ever be able to return home. She also assigns a scapegoat in Nagara, cultivating the idea that the only one of them with the power to teleport was trying to escape the world they came from, and happened to drag them all along with him. The StuCo brings Nagara before the class, but due to his social anxiety and ineloquence, his answers only make them more suspicious and angry, and even Hoshi can’t sway them to take it easy.

Happily, Nagara at least gets a small respite from all the finger-pointing when he joins Nozomi for some nighttime fishing. When she spots “guardian angels” in the otherwise inky black water, she dives in without hesitation, and pulls Nagara in with her. Under the water they soon become surrounded by a shimmering silver school of minnows, a wondrous and beautiful moment in an episode full of bleak cynicism. Nagara is glad he jumped in. He’s also glad he met Nozomi.

Things go south when Nagara is again confronted by the class, with Aki-sensei apparently trying to get everyone to turn against him as the one villain on whom they can pin all their blames. One student even shoves Nagara to the ground, causing him to run away once again. As she pulls Nagara down she builds Asakaze up, as he demonstrates he can cut through the world Nagara teleported them to and return to the island.

But that’s the first clue that Nagara’s power isn’t actually teleportation. He ends up escaping to a burned version of the island from before they set up a barter system that obeyed the world’s rules of fair exchange. Nozomi, Mizuho, and Rajdhani end up being able to travel to this burned island where they find Nagara. Mizuho in particular masks her genuine concern for him by being super prickly with him upon their reunion.
But the fact that the burned island wasn’t healed, but a second island created, seals one of the many theories Rajdhani’s simmering in his head: Nagara isn’t a teleporter…he’s a creator. Each and every one of the worlds they’ve visited was made from his power.
With Aki-sensei grooming Asakaze into Nagara’s nemesis, destroyer of those worlds, and savior of the class, all while painting Nagara as the devil, it seems like it’s only a matter of time before things boil over into something ugly.
