Just 'Round The Corner: Bi-Weekly Music Highlights for March 24th-April 8th
April Showers bring May Flowers, but Spring is already blooming in the FL music scene
Florida- It’s a great big beautiful tomorrow, and I’m pretty sure we won’t get copyright infringement for saying that (does that come with a FL Resident discount as well?)
However you choose to say it, there’s no doubt that amidst the seaside smells, ice cream dreams and unfortunate pollen disbursement in the air, concert season is back in full swing.
Which leads to a rather jam packed, and genre diverse concert line-up for this edition; just the type of ice cream truck we like…
March 25th
Spirit and the Cosmic Heart, The Dewars, MRENC and Brett Staska at Propaganda
No matter the season, the Lakeland group somehow always manage to make it feel like the best parts of summer.
This time, Spirit and the Cosmic Heart are bringing their special and indupitable brand of soft colored, daydream sweetness to Lake Worth as they round out their mini-SE US tour, along with quite a jam packed line-up: The Dewars, Brett Staska and MRENC.
Maybe you live in Miami, or want to catch a double dose of the quartet? Not a problem, as they will be wrapping up the tour at Las Rosas on March 26th.
This event is 18+, with the festivities at Propaganda Lake Worth start at 8pm, with $10 tickets in advance

Indigo Girls with Nicole Atkins at Pompano Beach Amphitheater
The Pompano Beach Amphitheater is one of the county’s best kept secrets.
Keeping the feel of a major stage while feeling intimate, the venue does a marvelous job of making any concert in it’s shell, feel like a treasure box. Which is the perfect type of feeling to host Indigo Girls with.
Bringing their Look Long Tour to the Southern Florida coasts, we recommend checking Indigo Girls off your event bucket-list, along with Nicole Atkins who will be opening the show.
Doors open at 6:30, with tickets ranging from $34.50 to $89.50.
They can be found at the link below

Donzii at Las Rosas
There are bands that you happen across every so often in your life, like a celestial event, or your toast landing butter side up.
And when these rare and lucky events occur, with the privilege of you being there to witness it, you never quite forget it, as a smile comes across your face at the mere mention of the thought. This is the feeling Donzii not only project, but thrive in, as the Miami act continue their ascent up the deserved ladder, having just played at the acclaimed SXSW Showcase in Austin, TX.
They bring their beautiful brand of music and art to Las Rosas with Degreaser and Mold for, and I quote, “Ben Katzman's Birthday Rager”. Which, of course, will be quite the rager.

Cannibal Corpse at Revolution Live
What’s a weekend without a mosh pit? And what’s a mosh pit without some killer metal? The genre has been making its way back home to one of its most prevalent origins, as both local and international bands continue to create events that truly capture the nature of the music itself: fantastically chaotic, and a wonderful cathartic release.
In the case of legendary death metal act, Cannibal Corpse, the veterans continue to amaze. How so? Picture eating ice cream, except if the summer treat was gore and guts amidst the fiery pits of Dante’s Inferno, as firedancing occurs in the distance and metal lyrics are being sung by a hellish choir. But somehow, the ice cream still hasn’t melted, and so you’re digging it.
A metal show requires a metal description, and what could be a more fitting event to put on your boots for?
This event is unfortunately sold out, however, we encourage you to search around your trustworthy ticket outlets of choice.

Immaterial Possession, Room Thirteen, Glass Body, The Dreambows at Respectable Street
PureHoney Magazine has remained a Florida staple, being the perfect accompaniment to some coffee or if you’re looking for the next great band to play on repeat.
It’s no wonder then, that the publication is helping host not one, but two of the best shows this month, the first being our earlier mentioned SATCH show, and the second being at the equally renowned Respectable Street. The venue will host one of the strongest line-ups of the season, as Immaterial Possession play alongside Room Thirteen, The Dreambows, and Glass Body.
While all the above mentioned acts are truly gems, the latter has a special place in our music hearts, as the group bring us back to punk/post-punk’s best moments in the heat of the late 70’s; when angst was fresh, the music was a reflection of the times, and music was the greatest podium one could have. This is true to this day, however, it is acts such as Glass Body that uphold the standard, and keep it strong.
The show will start at 8pm, and tickets (which range from $10-$12) can be found at the link below

April 2nd
The Midnight at The Beacham
Synthwave has been making a comeback. Neon lights, pinball arcades, and the sweet nostalgia of permed hair aside though, the music that continues to come from artists delving into the glittering pool has continued to astound: ranging from acts such as FM-84 and of course, The Midnight.
The California based duo bring some of that radiating 80’s starlight to The Beacham in Orlando, where the venue’s halls with echo some of the best dang modern synths around.
Perfect for taking your beau to, or maybe, to show up that high school jock with the smooth hair….
This event is unfortunately sold out, however, we encourage you to search around your trustworthy ticket outlets of choice.

We hope to see you at all these shows, or even just a few. There is truly something for everyone, and who doesn't want a little spring music fun?
