WAIITT I already said this in a reply but this might be easier to format so I'm moving it to an ask-- I did a quick(ish) mine of my playlists if you want some potential ENA song recs. Sorry I have a playlist lobe in my brain and it has recommendation disease The ones I actually think have a pretty good shot: I'm Gonna Win (Rob Cantor) Explode! (mother mother) Sweat (Oingo Boingo) Hapsburg Lipp (Everything Everything) All We Ever Wanted Was Everything (Bauhaus) Mines (donzii) songs that maybe fit: The Hand That Feeds (NIN) Life Worth Singing (Emezie) I Wish That I was a Fire (October Country) Bone Rage or Land Animal (Bent Knee) Cornflake (Psychedelic Porn Crumpets) (reminded me of hand theory) depending on how the lore goes potentially: Brutus (The Buttress) Fortune 500 (Everything Everything) (honestly all of this album could have potential and is also really good)

IDK if you go mostly on lyrics or sound but i went for lyrics with all of these. I also have the good fortune of having a penchant for freaky workaholics already locked and loaded. sorry to put like 8 pounds of music meatloaf on your plate

HELLO HELLOOO!!!!!!! OK, Firstly i'm really sorry it took me so long to get to this, but when i get music asks, even if I don't have something to say about Every song, I like to listen to every song and read all the lyrics first :D SO. SO,

And like, lyrics are the big preference and what really matters of course but i do find sound important in these songs cause. y'know. I have music tastes and preferences Believe it or not 😭😭BUT AGAIN. IT'S ALL GOOD! + First, the songs i didn't already know, which is... most of them:

Mines by Donzii was ABSOLUTELY my favorite like. Thank you for this rec cause I'm adding it to like my Regular Playlist immediately?? i mean i'm sure i mentioned it But 😭 i'm a goth I love bass and reverb and misery music what can i say. I also genuinely cannot find anywhere that's posted this song's lyrics, Wow this artist is tiny?? 😭😭 BUT LIKE. She's literally talking about Working In The Mines. Yeah this can be ena hell fucking yeah brother.

I'm Gonna Win is one I think i heard in some animatic years ago and forgot about til now LOL But that doesn't change the fact that it's literally real It's literallyyyy her. Give this blogger a true.

Next, Sweat! Is really funky and fun and such a jam, but my problem is it fits her best if you believe in the soldier ena theory. And i... Ok. It's complicated but i. Don't. 😭😭 HOWEVER. clutches my skull.. the General idea.. and the VIBES are there.....

Cornflake was another one i liked! In fact i got so into the sound itself i didn't realize it only has like . 2 verses of lyrics 😭😭BUT IDGAF LIKEEEE. I like the sound i like the combo rocky instrumentals plus the haunting reverby vocals; And this is literally her + CUBE-CUMB3R HANDS THEORY MENTIONED = INSTANTLY BASED!!!!!

I Wish that i was a Fire is incredibly her I think you're really right for that. For me the song's vibe of "Cheerily and nonchalantly singing lyrics about how you'd be better if you didn't have human emotions or needs like everything you're saying is fine and normal" is. SO perfect. It's so fucking true.

Lastly, NIN and Bauhaus were the only ones i already knew LOL—All we ever wanted was everything Also literally only has like, 2 verses, which is funny but it's Bauhaus so you know i'm adding that shit. You're so fucking right. She fits the quintessential bauhaus misery i think.

and The Hand That Feeds... okay. I agree it only kind of fits, but it's NIN so FUck it all, It's my playlist and MY favorite character, I'm adding it. (Perhaps we could even say some of the lyrics are supposed to be kind of mocking or condescending towards the person they're talking about, and that fits really well for Ena vs. the world?)

OH ALSO BRUTUS, I already knew Brutus, but although I genuinely can see the possible Connection between it and dbbq things, we're too early on and the song itself is too far away for me to make any real connection right now, same with fortune 500—but i will add it to my mind palace... I will think about it.......
