ok allowing myself to do more bg3 posting. im on my second single player playthrough now but gosh is it different knowing how it ends. the emperor storyline makes me insane its so good i cannot believe it can just end so unceremoniously it makes me actively crazy i cant live through that again but i also cant do another ending because the alternatives hurt too much. but i am sure its just as unceremonious either way because the whole ending for every character seems to be like that except karlach

Instapaper Android 6.1: View Notes, Multiselect Tagging, and More!

Happy new year! Today we’re excited to launch Instapaper Android 6.1, which includes View Notes to make it easy to view an article’s notes in one place, multiselect tagging for better bulk organizing of your articles with tags, and a few more features and improvements.

View Notes

Easily view your highlights and notes on an article by tapping the Notes button in the article list, or by opening an article, tapping the more button, and tap “View Notes”.

From there, you can easily export your notes on an article in plain text, markdown, or HTML. Additionally, you can easily navigate to each note within the article.

Multiselect Tagging

We added multiselect tagging in Instapaper Android 6.1 to make it much easier to organize your articles with tags in bulk. You can start multiselect by long pressing an article, select the articles you want to add tags to, and then tap the tag icon.

Other Features & Improvements

In addition to the above, Instapaper Android 6.1 has a handful of additional features and improvements:

Added OpenDyslexic font for readers with dyslexia.

Improved experience for e-ink readers by disabling more animations.

Fixed bug where screen would not lock with reader open.

Fixed issue where video thumbnails would show up duplicated.

Other minor crash fixes and improvements.

so!! tommy is the one answering this one, cause i have arguably the biggest hoard in the system!!

i don't currently have a shareable hoard sadly, though i'm planning on making a powerpoint of it, but for personal purposes, i have a notion database with all the labels i have!! (well, technically not all, i have a few labels i need to update to it, but still!)

the database has 7 multiselect properties (which i will list all of the currently existing options for):

one for categories of identity: alderns, chronos, fictidomi, genders, hearthomes, hoarding terms, invianes, referral terms, roles, roleics, transitioning terms, umbrella terms, and xenonatures

one for themes: agere, animals, arts, autism, blue, boyhood, broad, bugs, clothing, clouds, colors, cringe, darkness, dinosaurs, dissociation, dogs, drink, emo, emotions, energy drinks, family, fire, ghosts, green, gross, light, light colors, liminality, media, medical, memory, music, nature, neuro, nonhumanity, objects, plurality, plushies, raccoons, sounds, space, special interest, technology, time, toys, travel, videogames, warm colors, water, weather, weird, y0uth

one for emotions: anger, comfort, excitement, fear, fun, happiness, loneliness, nervousness, sadness

one for medias: lemon demon, the oh hellos, deltarune, minecraft, pokémon

one for actions: sorting, stimming

one for characters: autism creature, fuecoco

one for locations: motostoke, pokémon world, wyndon (yes all of these are places from pokémon)

Okay, side rant before I answer! 😆

I actually really like the inventory system, but I've heard a lot of people say they hate it because it's too open with very little direction, and I know that can be a nightmare for a lot of people. In fact, a good friend of mine nearly lost his mind over it, so I showed him how I organise things and he said it helped. Maybe my method can help other players, too.

When I start up a game, I take a companion's alchemy pouch and camp supply pack (usually Shadowheart's, because I use her the least) and add it to my Travellers Chest. If you don't want your companion to be without those items, don't worry. They'll either pick up new ones on their own or you'll find some extra ones you can give them later. Plus, they don't really need them. I never let my companions pick up food or ingredients, or really much of anything without sending it straight to me. Otherwise I know I'll forget they have it. I also add two additional backpacks to my Tav's inventory.

Then, every three or four times I visit camp, I empty my alchemy pouch and camp supply pack into the ones I stored in the chest. Make sure you extract all of your ingredients before doing this (unless you're getting mushrooms of Omeluum, in which case make sure you give those to him before extracting any ingredients or they'll be destroyed, possibly locking you out of the quest). The moving process can be sped up by opening a pack and clicking "take all", then sorting your inventory by "latest". With the items now in your personal inventory, all you have to do is open the packs in the chest, hit "multiselect", and click each item one by one until you can store everything you desire. This sounds monotonous, I know, but it's honestly really fast, and you'll get into a habit if you do it enough times.

Now, in addition to the alchemy pouch and camp supply pack, I also add two different style backpacks, a crude chest, a gilded chest, and a heavy chest to the traveller's chest. Since I bought the deluxe version of the game, I also have the peculiar clothing chest, but if you don't have one, I would suggest grabbing another gilded chest with a different design. Most of these things you can find on your way to or in the Grove, except the crude chest, which you can find in the goblin camp or in Auntie Ethel's teahouse. But you don't have to be insane like me, you can just use another heavy chest or whatever. I organise them like so: backpack 1—dyes, backpack 2—potions, crude chest—weapons, gilded chest—quest items, heavy chest—miscellaneous shit I can't bring my hoarder self to part with, peculiar clothing chest—clothing/kits.

The two backpacks I carry are used for scrolls and explosives/important items I can use to pass checks or teleport, etc. Arrows I usually split between Lae'zel, Karlach, and Astarion, since they have no magic abilities. Though when I played as a fighter, I also kept those with the explosives. That said, since I'm already giving advice, I highly, highly suggest you give most of your arrows to Karlach, as her blows don't seem to be quite as powerful as Lae'zel's, and Astarion can pull off some pretty hard-hitting ranged sneak attacks. I'd also suggest giving Astarion the Shadow of Menzoberranzan, a helmet you can find in the treasure room in the Myconid Colony. It's invisibility is a great boon to any of his rogue builds.

Other than that, the only items that go directly into my traveller's chest are the big boy explosives (barrels, Wulbren's bomb, etc.) since they're too heavy and I usually send them straight there from the wild. I also put Dribbles' body parts in there, because they're annoying and I hate them, but they don't stay for very long.

As for my least favourite aspect of BG3, I'd say it's the companion management, but it looks like they fixed it with the latest patch! I loathed having to manually dismiss everyone just to swap them out with someone else, then run to that person's tent to add them to my party. I also hated having to add a companion to my party just so I could give them a ring or piece of armour. I'm so glad they fixed it. Thank you, Larian! ❤

Hey coders!

The past couple of months I've been a frontend developer intern at an e-sports company and it's been so amazing! I am realizing that yeah, this is exactly what I want to do! I feel super lucky.

Anyway, today, and for the past like week, I have been struggling with implementing the multiselect from react-select in a form we are building in my team. It's a very complicated field, where you can choose from different lists, with values that need to be replaced and disabled depending on which list you are choosing from and what has already been chosen, so just getting the logic right was tough.

Today I got it working, only to realize I can't style it without all the functionality breaking. Feeling like I've tried everything, I was like: you know what? Fuck it, I'm just gonna make my own. Sooo here I am!

To break it down:

I have a div that contains a span (which will be rendered from an array of options, to be the yellow chip) and an invisible input field

The div is styled to look like an input field, but in reality it's just a div with spans and an invisible input field following the span (lol special thanks to this stack overflow thread)

When the user types, I am listening to what keys they are pressing with a function I am currently calling handleReturn

If the pressed key is "Enter", I will push the current value of the field to the options array

But! This does not do anything at the moment, since the options array does not tell the component to update itself in any way to display the newly added value! For that, I need to make the options array be a state using the useState() hook from React!

When a state is changed, react's useState can tell, and it will rerender (=update) the component, and then my new value will (...should) be shown as well, since it will be using the new array with new values!

apparently ao3 has the only good gift exchange formatting and no other form system I can find ACTUALLY lets people put in their own multiselect options

which would be workable IF the multiselect option I did find didn't make the whole search you did disappear every time you make a selection (EG - type cameron -> see all the cameron options -> click one -> they all disappear and you have to start over)

anywho regardless I will be doing my utmost to get an actual signup form up tomorrow. I'm sorry if it ends up being a little annoying

multiselect for youtube (gives you various tools/options to manage your playlists easier)

return youtube dislike (returns the number of dislikes on videos)

unhook (hides a buuuuuunch of things recommended by youtube w/ lots of customization options)

youtube custom speed (allows you to highly customize what different speed presets display on videos)

youtube redux (changes youtube's layout to mimic older versions of the site. has a lot of customization options. note: it has a setting that makes the video player smaller turned on by default. imo it kinda sucks so i'm giving a heads up on how to turn that off right away LMAO) (seriously, check out the settings on this one)

I cannot put into words how much I Fucking Loathe the fact that when you search something on youtube now it will randomly intersperse blocks of "people also watched" and "for you" into the results. That's not what I searched for, youtube. I typed in a search query because I wanted to see search results, not random unrelated garbage you have placed in my way apparently to either inconvenience me or force me to scroll further for actual results.
