You took your phone out of your bag to check the time as you walked towards the school gym. If you remembered correctly, Atsushi's basketball practice should have ended around five minutes ago. It was the last practice session of a very busy season, so he'd promised to take you out as soon as it was finished. When you asked where, he said it was a surprise and that he'd take you there after practice. The more you thought about spending the evening with your beloved boyfriend after a few weeks of barely seeing him outside of school, the giddier you felt. When you finally reached the gym and pushed the door open, you saw Atsushi talking with the other members of the generation of miracles as they walked out of the changing room. Even though most members of the generation of miracles were pretty tall, Murasakibara still managed to tower over them. He'd changed out of his basketball kit and into a loose fitting black shirt with short sleeves and grey sweatpants. His hair was also up- he knew that was a weakness of yours. You didn't mind that he dressed more casually- in fact, as you checked out his long, toned arms, you realised how much you liked it. As soon as Murasakibara saw you standing and starin at the door, he smiled slightly and walked over to you.

"Hey baby, you ready to leave after this ?" You opened your mouth to answer but Kuroko beat you to it.

"What ? Murasakibara and Y/N ? Why didn't anybody tell me ?" You tried not to laugh at the look of utter shock on his face as his eyes darted between you and Atsushi. Aomine cut in, frowning

"Yeah ! And why does he get to date someone that hot ? Y/N, if you ever grow bored of this dry ass man then you know where to find-" This time, it was Atsushi who cut Aomine off by shoving him in the opposite direction to you.

"Over my dead body," he said, glaring at Aomine. The latter simply smirked and raised his eyebrows

"Control yourself, Aomine. Anyway, you're all just idiots. This has been rather obvious for a few weeks now. Whenever Murasakibara has free time, he spends it with Y/N, and he always takes every opportunity to text them during practice. Akashi has noticed it too. While I normally wouldn't condone dating within a friendship group, their signs are perfectly matched," Midorima explained, a triumphant look on his face, while Akashi stood there silently. You hadn't expected much of a reaction from him, because you realised on some level he'd always known, and had given you and Atsushi small windows of time in which you could meet and talk all throughout the last basketball season. When you'd thanked him for all his help, he'd just nodded and smiled slightly.

You listened and tried to hold in your laughter as Aomine and Midorima began to squabble over his remark. These guys were idiots, but they were your idiots. They'd been your best friends since middle school and you were glad that you finally had the opportunity to share this with them. Kise finally broke the spat, smiling in your direction as he spoke.

"Yeah, you guys really weren't as discreet as you thought. I mean, Murasakibaracchi literally has a picture of you in his basketball jersey as his phone lockscreen. Anyway, though I agree with Aominecchi that this is slightly unfair, I wish you two all the best. You look really cute together, as well as being well matched,"

"Yeah," Kuroko agreed, smiling at you as you blushed.

"Aww guys... thank you so much ! We would have told you earlier, but we were afraid it would change things between the group,"

"Nah. No matter what happens, we'll stick together. We've made it this far, right ?" Aomine replied, and the others nodded in agreement. Atsushi put an arm around your waist and looked at the guys.

"Now that you know, I'd appreciate it if you stopped wasting our time. I'm taking Y/N on a date tonight. Also, keep your hands to yourselves. Y/N is mine," he said, glaring at Aomine and Kise. You smiled up at him, your heart beating faster as he revealed this new possessive side to his nature. He squeezed you a little before hoisting you over his shoulder as if you weighed nothing.

"Wha- Atsushi ! What do you think you're doing ?" you asked, squirming in his grasp playfully.

"We'll get there faster like this,". He tightened his grip around you and you let yourself relax, breathing in his warm scent as he carried you out of the gym.

"Bye guys !" you said, smiling as Atsushi carried you out. The others smiled back at you, waving as they watched you and Atsushi leave the gym.

As soon as you'd left, Kuroko opened his mouth again

"So that's why Murasakibara was asking about where the rose garden was,"

Kise facepalmed and laughed a little

"Yes, it was. He wanted to surpris them with a truly romantic spot. God, you really are dense at times, Kurokocchi,"

a/n: Kept the reader gender neutral so as many people as possible could enjoy this, though is geared more towards male reader I hope as that is what you asked for.

🍭 For starters there is probably a large amount of time that he spends not noticing you but you definitely noticed him, you were working in a convenience store that frequented.

🍭 You always kept his favourite snacks back for him and that was when he started to take notice of you. 🍭 The first time he really saw you, you were teaching some kids how to play basketball. He could see that you were good, the way that you interacted with the kids and taught them. You glanced over and waved before calling him in. 🍭 The real indication that liked you was actually playing one on one match with you to show the kids a real game. That was the day he realised that you were taller than him, you were always behind a counter or miles away from him he’d never noticed before. 🍭 You started talking more from there on but then his team needed a new manager so he asked you. 🍭 You took the position and that meant that you spent even more time together, you often brought his favourite food, just to get him to take part in practice properly or snap him out of whatever mood he was in. 🍭 You started calling him ‘Sushi which he seemed to love. Everyone noticed that you were very close but the person to say something was Tatsuya, nothing came from it until after the match against Seirin after his first loss he found himself looking for you to find comfort and it was after that that basically declared to the world (you included) that you belonged to him. 🍭 He never really officially asked, he did give you every chance to reject any advancement or shows of affection at any time. 🍭 You guys are probably the cutest thing that most people have seen, he’d often feed you if he knew that you hadn’t eaten and he always knew. You didn't know how but he always did. 🍭 He asked you why you didn’t play and you explained an injury that you got when you were younger so you just helped people that played instead. Since hearing that he’d always watch you and if he deems it necessary (which he always does) he’ll just carry you places or take your bag and carry that for you. 🍭 He’s the stronger of the two of you despite the fact that you were taller than he was, you always worried about him carrying you around but he dismissed the concern by jolsting you around and showing you he could hold you easily. 🍭 Everyone comes to you when they need to convince him to do something and he’ll usually do it but only if you would come with him, so be careful what you agree to. 🍭 The rest of the generation of miracles are all surprised to see him with you, mostly because he’ll often be standing there with a bag of crisps and he’ll eat one and then feed one to you, they were shocked the first time they all saw it, like they all just stopped talking at looked at him, which annoyed him and you had to calm him down after that too. 🍭 You doted over him when he broke his arm in the Jabberwock match and he loved it soaked up every bit for affection. Side note he’ll have you tie up his hair before every match as well often with the excuse that he can’t be bothered to lift his arms. 🍭 Often calls you sugar or sweetness and you could see Tatsuya roll his eyes every time. 🍭 You have to tell him off for being mean to everyone even if his nicknames were absolutely hilarious, you were in charge of keeping him out of trouble when Tatsuya wasn’t around. 🍭 You help him study a lot of the time if you can and he’ll listen to you though it’s always hard to get him to actually focus in the first place, if you're both hopeless then it just devolves into messing around. 🍭 When you guys cuddled up together, you usually wrapped around him, in some way, he’d be the one to pull you down to cuddle because you just won’t stop moving and he stopped caring about that task you had set for yourself and just wants you close. 🍭 He doesn’t like it when he doesn’t know where you are or can’t see you but there is only so much that you can do about that but you’ll text and call him as much as you can to make him a little more happy. 🍭 You don’t argue very often but small disagreements are common, considering his lazy and resistant attitude, you argue playfully about his attitude towards something, he’ll likely walk away from you and then wait for him to approach you again usually offering some kind of food for peace. 🍭 If he ever hears that something happened to you, he was there before you even knew what happened, he’d drop anything, he’d skip class and practice if it meant that he’d be able to make sure that you were okay. 🍭 All in all he loves you a lot and it might take him a while to say but he’ll show you everyday, just be sure to show him as well. He’s easily bored and if he doesn’t get back what he gives he’ll leave.

He leaned forward and whispered in your ear, “you weren’t complaining about it before she found us, were you?”

You could just smack him. 

Instead, you decided to tune him out and continue your work. May as well do something productive here, right?

You didn’t look up when the teacher mentioned something about having a meeting to go to and expecting you to behave yourselves, nor did you look up when he left. You, unfortunately, looked up when Eddie took your pencil out of your hand and sat on the desk in front of you. 

“Hey! That’s mine!”

“Come get it, sweetheart.”

There’s that cocky smirk you hate so much from him. 

You stood from your seat, as did he. He held the pencil above and behind his head, so you lunged forward for it. With a bit of laugh, he dropped the pencil and wrapped his arms around your waist, pulling you in tight. Your hand you reached for the pencil with landed on his shoulder in defeat. 

“You’re a prick,” you complained, although you made no effort to pull away. 

“Mhm, yeah, and you hate me so much. Shut up and kiss me already.”

He silenced anything else you planned on saying with a needy kiss. Almost immediately you melted, using your other hand to run through his hair. When you tugged gently, he groaned against your lips, pulling you tighter against him. Without a second thought, he walked you backward into a desk (luckily not the one you’d been sitting at) and you sat on top. His hands traveled down from your waist to your legs, guiding you to wrap them around his waist. 

You pulled away from him, putting a finger over his lips to stop him from following yours. “We shouldn’t be doing this, Ed. We’re screwed if he comes back in.”

“You didn’t seem to be complaining.” 

You groaned in frustration and laid your head against his shoulder. “Eddie Munson, you are such a pain in my ass.” 

“I could be if ya let me.”

“Ed!”

He's so hyped to make you meet his grandparents!

It's so cute, because he's been talking about you to them since day 1, so they're really impatient to meet you

They're also the only family he has so it's very important for him that you meet them

Which makes you fairly nervous, you understand how much this matters to Teppei

You'll probably go have lunch to their place (they insisted on it)

It'll be love at first sight for them too

They will shower you in compliments (now you see where your boyfriend got it), telling you that you are so beautiful and cute

And don't count on Kiyoshi to stop them from praising you, if anything, he'll encourage it

His grandma will certainly insist on showing you Teppei's childhood's pictures

They're very jovial people so you're guaranteed to laugh a lot in their presence

you bowed to chris, who only nodded with his stance tall and his arms crossed. unfortunately you injured yourself in the recent tournament while playing defence, and while you tried to play it off, miyuki already saw right through your act and brought you to chris for some rehabilitation; he knows you and knows you’d try and push yourself even more despite your injury.

“is it just your back, y/n?” chris asked, grabbing some equipment that would be best suited to your situation.

“yes, though i don’t think it’s too serious..” you trailed off, “i definitely think i can play for this weekends game.”

“don’t be silly.” miyuki said, walking up to you. “focus on healing first or you’ll do something you’ll regret for the rest of your life.”

“i’m not being silly! i’m serious! if i can just rest for a day, then— argh!”

a sharp pain shot through your lower back which caused you to grip on it tightly. as an immediate reaction, miyuki wrapped an arm around you for support and rubbed the area where it hurt, applying enough pressure to soothe the pain. you frowned and grit your teeth, frustrated because you knew the injury was worse than you thought. miyuki sighed and helped you up, not taking his arms off of you.

“told you, don’t be silly.” he whispered. he motioned for you to sit on one of the benches where you buried your face in your hands.

“i can’t miss this weekends game,” you mumbled, “i don’t want to miss it— the team. i want to be with the team..”

which is why you tried to walk properly when you were going over to his place. you hurt your back during practice, making your form slumped as you ambled. you knew he’d freak out if he heard you got hurt, so you tried to play it off when you arrived at his door. unfortunately, your boyfriend had some next level senses when it came to you, as he said, “what’s wrong with you?”

you smiled brightly, despite the sharp pains that you felt in your back. “nothing! i’m fine!” you excused yourself and entered his home, taking off your shoes and placing your bag on the table. makoto groaned in annoyance, already knowing that something happened at practice today; he could tell by the way your breath was slowly staggered and the clenching your teeth. “where did you get hurt?”

“what are you talking about? i didn’t—”

“y/n.”

you clicked your tongue, “fine! my back, i was playing defence today and i fell on my back. it hurts like a bitch now.” you frowned as you slumped on his couch, careful as to not to trigger the pain. makoto disappeared into the kitchen, fumbling with the cabinets and came out with a tube in his hand.

“turn around.” he demanded. with no questions, you obeyed, lying on your stomach as he slowly lifted your shirt up. “makoto, what are you—”

“just let me do my thing.” he interrupted. he squished a small amount of the substance from the tube on his hand and softly rubbed his hands together before asking you, “where does it hurt?”

you uttered, “..lower back.”

suddenly, you felt his hands expertly rub over your lower back, soothing the pain and spreading the cream. “i use this when i have muscle aches,” he said, continuing to massage your back. “you’ll be fine soon.”

“even for this weekends game?”

he scoffed in a mocking tone, “not that soon. you’re to stay put for a couple weeks.” your body quickly tensed, shaking your head. before you can protest and tried to convince him that you were okay, he quickly cut you off, “save it, y/n. i promise i’ll look after you, and i’ll even let you choose whatever game you wanna play.” he muttered that last part, but he couldn’t hide the blushes that had formed across his cheeks. “you need to heal.”

you smiled at your boyfriend, putting your head down, feeling good by his massages. “thank you, makoto.”

when they’re a volleyball player

miyuki kazuya:

it was game day— the finals, and fortunately enough, miyuki had a spare day. your tournaments and his were always clashing, but the both of you always tried to make it to each other’s games. not only for the support, but because it was something that meant a lot to the both of you.

as the game was nearing to an end, the plays in your team’s favour, miyuki was standing against the glass, eyes glued to the ball just like you; he never was invested in any other sport but baseball before, but when he met you, you made volleyball much more interesting to him, especially when you were on the court.

“they’re quite clever,” your teammate said to you, wiping the sweat off of their forehead, “i’m gonna fake a set to blondie over there, but i’m actually going to set it to you, ‘kay y/n?”

you nodded, furrowing your eyebrows as you looked at the score that was 23-24. one more point— one more point and we make it to nationals, you thought. all of you guys took your position on the court, waiting for the other team to serve. suddenly, you could hear your heartbeat through your ears and the anxiety in your chest.

fuck, shit, calm down!

your palms became sweaty and your vision began to blur. this often happened when you were nervous, but there couldn’t be a worse timing than now. you cursed under your breath, but before any of this could get severely bad, you heard your name being called from the bleachers.

“switch gears y/n!” miyuki yelled.

you turned your head to your boyfriend who was pressed up against the glass. “you got this!” he continued, “you’re much better than them, okay? so win!!”

you looked at the other team who was fairly getting annoyed at miyuki, their veins showing on the side of your head. you laughed and gave him a thumbs up while he smirked at you and crossed his arms.

that idiot, you smiled.

you didn’t know what it was, but if anyone had to set you straight, it was him; just a bit of his comfort was enough to push you forward. you relaxed your muscles and sparked that determination you had and eyed the server with a deathly glare.

they served the ball, high and hard, but with the luck in your hands, the back players were able to receive it. it went to your setter, and while the opposing team thought they were going to set it to the blonde teammate, they quickly shifted positions and set it to you. you spiked that ball hard, the pressure being so loud it echoed through the gym. it was silent for a bit, until the referee announced game.

“23-25, game set!”

the crowed roared into a cheer and your teammates tackled you, bringing you down to the ground.

“i knew i could count on you!” your teammate cried, “we fucking did it guys!” tears began to flow down your cheeks, laughter emitting from your mouth. you hugged each and every one of them, and when you caught a glimpse of your boyfriend walking down the bleachers, your feet was already making its way towards him. you jumped into his arms as he spun you around, giving him a huge kiss on his lips.

“we made it to nationals!” you cried, holding miyuki’s face, “we fucking made it!”

“you were about to lose it there, though.” he teased, putting you down. “but i knew you wouldn’t. never doubted it once.” he hugged you tightly, “so proud of you.” miyuki knew what it was like to make it to nationals and how important it was; and so he was ecstatic for you, excited that your hard work finally paid off.

you couldn’t stop laughing though; you were too happy. after endless nights of practicing, endless losses, endless journeys, you were finally going after your dream with the team you loved the most, and your boyfriend who has stuck with you through it all.

murasakibara atsushi:

“y/n-chin.. can we go?”

it was almost midnight, and you had asked your boyfriend to help you practice for this weekend’s game. you were pretty tall already, 6’2 with a strength of an animal, however you knew that there ever taller, stronger players competing this weekend— and there was no better person to help you than your own boyfriend.

“i’m sorry atsushi,” you panted, “just a little more.”

he grumbled, wiping the sweat on his face with his sleeve, “you owe me snacks..” he mumbled. you giggled, “of course.”

you set to the ball to yourself and tried to look for an opening to score. deep in concentration, your eyes scanned his side of the court, finding a spot to land you a point. you grinned and spiked the ball as hard as you could, only for it to deflect back on your side.

“argh!” you groaned, “i can never get past you!” you jogged to the ball, picking it up to try again.

“that’s because you’re so small, y/n-chin,” he teases, pulling a random pocky stick from his pocket and popping it in his mouth. you stomped your way to him, going under the net and huffed, “i’ll have you know that i’m 6’2! it’s abnormal to be almost seven feet, you know?”

he looked down on you and smiled, wrapping his arms around your neck and pulled you in close.

“so cute, y/n-chin is so cute.” he nuzzled into your hair while you sighed in defeat, wrapping your arms around his waist.

“can i have a pocky?” you asked, muffled in his chest. he pulled away, not too far, but enough to reach one in his pocket and hold it to your lips. he bit the one end and signalled you to bite the other end.

“let’s pway the pwocky game,” he said, struggling to pronounce his words. you laughed and switched from holding his waist to his neck, lugging him down to your eye level.

“let the game begin.”

but in one swift moment, murasakibara chomped the entire pocky, only leaving you with the piece inside your mouth.

“atsushi!” you whined, “you’re a cheater! cheater cheater cheater!” you turned your back to him and pouted, crossing your arms like a child. but then you felt a hand snake around your neck, making you turn to face him again. without even saying anything, he kissed your lips, forcing his tongue to dance with yours.

“can you taste the pocky?” he asked, a string of saliva connecting between the pairs of yours and his. a blush rose to your cheeks, making your face feel hot and hazy, “mhm,” you hummed. “chocolate.”

he pulled yet another piece from his pocket and held it up to your lips, “sorry, y/n-chin.” you ate the pocky in one bite, booping your boyfriend’s nose. “forgiven!”

“let’s go back now.”

“okay, but you’re helping me again tomorrow.”

“fine.”
