There's too many people to list, but to give a thing - self-reliance.

Sothe is a firm beliver in "if you want something done right, do it yourself". He's terrible at delegating and often comes off controlling or nitpicky because of it. It creates conflict in his life - both that he struggles to rely on others, and in that he becomes overbearing when he's faced with something he has to delegate.

He doesn't really like this, though. From his time around the people he admires most (Ike and Micaiah), he's seen the way they can rely on others and how that makes them strong. He's improved at it in recent years, but it's certainly not gone, and probably a trait he'll never really lose.

It's something he spent time honing that now is a double edged sword and frustrates him whenever he's aware of it, especially when it causes arguments or tires him out.

Oh, but it's worth mentioning people. Not currently, but - for a brief period of time, he deluded himself into both loving and hating Micaiah, during the events of Path of Radiance. He wanted nothing more than to find her again, but being separated from her hurt. To Sothe, being separated from her was losing one of the only things in the world that was his, and he didn't know where to direct that upset. He's over that, now - growing to understand and be slightly more mature about his feelings - but as a tumultous teen, his emotions weren't as sensible.

Zelgius, too, is a bit of a love-hate - although love might be strong. Inherently, Sothe wants to be able to appreciate any protection that may be extended to Micaiah, but the fact remains that he's what the kids may call "a jealous bitch". If he feels replaced, or anything akin to that... well.

The list goes on. Pelleas. Ike (but mostly love, there.) Sothe is a bit of a spiteful person - but in those things he cares enough to hate, there's usually a sliver of love.

For this update, we’d like to announce that we have reworded our stance on “Characters from upcoming games”, as well as our spoiler window!

Before, it was that any character from a game that was “Unfinished” would have to wait until the game was finished for you to apply them, but upon further discussion with members, we concluded that this was a bit too much, so, now

You are allowed to apply characters from games that are in “Early Access” (As much as you could if a show’s season isn’t over!), so long as they have a characterization or plot that is set in stone and is unlikely to change! Basically, if the character has enough to work with, you’re good!

Though, if a character is mysterious with a backstory that is largely made up by headcanons or fan interpretation, we ask that you wait until there is much more to work with! (An example of this would be Kris and Ralsei from Deltarune, there’s quite a lot about them that we don’t know...)

And in the case of a character taking a shocking left turn, please look into updating them, or making them canon divergent! <:

And secondly, we would like to revise our stance on “Spoiler characters”, essentially, from now on, a month wait is enough for most characters that are considered spoilers (Minor to Moderate), after a month has passed since a game’s release or a spoiler episode, you should be good...

Unless they are considered a “Walking Spoiler”, a massive spoiler of a character that can change the flow of a story and who’s mere existence is a spoiler in itself. For that, you’ll likely be waiting 2 months or more, and the mod team will review if it’s ok for that character to be played, given how they may spoil something for people joining!

Over all, it’s much more of a case-by-case basis now, we may even shorten the wait time to apply characters from a new IP to two weeks! But, for now, we hope this results in many new and interesting characters joining us!

For other updates, we’re hoping to have posts up about some of the changes we’ve made to Elsternwick, including the Job System (Pretty simple!), an update to our wording on the ban list, and a few other fun surprises, and we hope you’ll look forward to reading about them!

In accordance with his true master’s orders, the Black Knight was to keep an eye on Daein’s activities. Chief among his tasks was to assess Izuka’s experiments and to report back with the results of them. Of course, the Black Knight despised his visits to the twists halls of Gritnea Tower. The piles of corpses of dead laguz kept on growing, the scent of their suffering and deaths permeating the dungeons. He had no particular love for laguz, but even he found himself appalled at their torment. 

And it would seem that he was not the only one. 

On today’s visit, he spotted the slim figure of a child, running to and fro in those twisted dungeons. The young child was offering them scraps of meat. A paltry comfort, but an attempt at comfort nevertheless. Bemused, he makes himself known with a quick clearing of his throat. The child looked up at him with wide eyes as he strode the gap between them, black armor clinking with the menace of an executioner. 

“At ease,” he says, his voice a low rumble. “I will not breathe a word of this.”

“Now answer me this ... who are you, and why do you roam these wretched halls? I was not told of your presence here.”

TRY + A CHARACTER  YOU’D LIKE TO SEE ME ( ATTEMPT ) TO WRITE !

Accepting 

             Tarnished, ebony amor glistens beneath the moonlight that streams in through stained glass windows; casting a rosy glow upon ivory tiles. Fuzzy, frigid lights from the stars that hang well overhead bathe Alondite’s silver blade in an eerie, midnight glow that dwarfs whatever warmth the dying light of flickering candles provides. What few shadows manage to snake their way into the moon-kissed room dance (like wolves stalking a wounded animal; saliva dripping from their tongues as they watch it stumble about uselessly) about the golden portraits that cling to the walls, the empty seats that seem so much bigger in the silence, and the melted wax that collects in golden trays placed upon the podium where they lord over the room. Dreary is the word that comes to the knight’s mind, but he’s no stranger to the lonesome and unwanted (this hall even suits him, or so he imagines a handful of his comrades might claim).   

                With every subtle movement of his muscular frame, a soft click as hefty steel rubs and pulls against itself echoes through the long corridor, and makes the armor almost feel alive. It keeps the quiet from fully taking over, but, truth be told, he would have preferred the strange comfort of silence, and the nothing that always seemed to follow it. His jaw was set in a firm line as dark irises watched the trembling door; it’s golden frame rattling whenever the chilled wind slammed against it. Much like his armor it creaked and moaned and snarled in the darkness as the storm outside continued to rage (not unlike tired soldiers marching off to battle for the last time). The illusion is shattered the moment the door rolls open, allowing a blast of cold air to flood into the room, nearly blowing out the candles and nipping at raven-colored locks.  

             “So, you’ve come.” His voice is stern, as it always tends to be, but there’s a fondness in his gaze that betrays his true intentions. Even so, he remains still, listening to the sound of lithe footsteps as they tap against the marble floor towards him. The hilt of his blade clutched loosely in his gloved hand, where it feels like an extension of his own body (more a part of him, perhaps, than his own mind); like its linked to the calm thud of his heart, and if it were to break, he would surely, at long last, leave this world behind him. And the deep gashes that mar his otherwise pristine armor feel as if they’ve been carved into his own body rather than the steel that encases it because, just like his blade, that too is a part of him. 

               “I fully intend to honor our agreement.” There’s a frown that creases the other man’s lips, but it’s not an uncommon sight. “Wherever you lead me, I will follow.” His words are curt as they cut through the bellow of the wind as it slams against the windows, and the snap of tiny flames as they threaten to fade out in the thin shelter the decorated walls provide. And the ‘clank’ of his armor sounds like thunder as he shifts to kneel upon the reflective surface of the floor, his blade coming to rest upon the ground beside him. Whatever obligation he should have felt was well beyond him now; he would be the one to chose his own fate, and decide it already had - long ago.

At this point, Zelgius was accustomed to the summoner's poking and prodding. He doesn't question a thing when Ravus approaches with a veritable pile of tissue boxes and proceeds to wipe every last bloodstain from his face. Ravus was wont to fret over him at every opportunity. All the knight can do is maintain his stoic façade, making his peace with the next hour being dedicated to bloodstain removal.

"While I appreciate this, Summoner, I must advise against using those tissues on my armor."

He indicates the large crack upon his armor's breastplate. He still wore his armor despite that damage, for it was a memento of his duel with the son of Gawain. A stark reminder of the lad's potential to truly fell him one day.
