Look at this beauty growing in our garden. It’s a shaggy parasol (Chlorophyllum rhacodes) and will make a great addition to our cooked brunch today. Swipe to see what it looks like young. Some funky mushroom families whilst out walking Jeanie and Eva yesterday evening. The first I think is honey fungus, edible only if cooked a lot and apparently triggers reactions in 1 in 25 people. The second I think are (delicious) Velvet Shank as it’s on my neighbours tree that commonly has it. My only doubt is that it doesn’t seem cold enough for this type of mushroom and it could be the non edible sulphur tuft. I’ll be able to tell as it gets a bit older. Finally beautiful ink caps but sadly not the shaggy edible kind. My neighbour has a wonderful crop of Velvet Shanks growing on her decaying Elm tree.
