⌞ʾ⁎ what will your pleasure be, beautiful writers ? your friendly neighborhood admins are here, bringing you our fourth task ! right about now, a good friend is something we all need. but not just a friend - maybe an enemy too ! or a hookup ? maybe a mentor ? this fourth task is all about your character’s wanted connections -- the people in their life that make each day ore and more special ! they may not be your own personal genie, but you ain’t never had a connection like these !

BUCKETLIST:: WILHELMINA BERGMANN ‘ 𝕚𝕟 𝕔𝕒𝕤𝕖 𝕪𝕠𝕦 𝕖𝕧𝕖𝕣 𝕒𝕞𝕠𝕦𝕟𝕥 𝕥𝕠 𝕒𝕟𝕪𝕥𝕙𝕚𝕟𝕘 ’  the words are blocked, neatly placed on the top of the page. matter of fact, like stating the sky is blue. it’s at the back of an old sketch notebook she grifted from moritz. there are her own doodles strewn about the pages of her list, not nearly as good as his but decent enough. warped spots mark teardrops from years before. next to the cleanly written bullet points are notes, explanations to some invisible person she seems to be defending her choices to. no one has laid eyes on this secret document.

Stop caring what mother thinks.  she’s not in charge of you anymore. you’re an adult. so why do her words hurt you so much, hm? you can be your own person now. it’s okay. 

Forget about him.  you had to give him up. what were you going to do? live on your own, you and the little one, that’s ridiculous. he’s better off without you. stop thinking you could have done better, you couldn’t have.

Visit home, without any obligation. Bring Ilse, Moritz, and Melchior with you. Make new, happier memories.  we deserve it. 

Start yoga.  they say it’s good for the soul. god knows your soul needs it. 

Get Moritz to teach you how to draw.  or art of any kind. god, he’s so talented. if i could just draw on one ounce of his talent...

Make your own family.  so, childhood sucked. no one loved you. your parents were the worst ( okay not the worst but they weren’t great ) so make your own with some stupid boy who will treat you nice. we might not be able to give him everything...but we can be enough. right? 

Try sushi, finally  get over the fear of raw fish

Go to the beach. stop being afraid of sand and the ocean. nothing’s going to suck you into it.

Listen more, talk less. 

Kiss someone on New Years 

Join a food eating contest.  we might lose, but it would be fun. 

Visit every continent, at least once.

◟˖﹡˙⊰ MUSICALHQS TASK#003  : it’s silly when we get into these crazy hypotheticals ⊱ ʿ﹡˖◝

a bucket list for claude hooper (tw: drugs, ptsd mention, addiction mention)

go vegan

claude is vegetarian at the moment! he’d love to go vegan in the near future, just wants to find some more vegan friends to help him make the transition first.

paint a wall mural

okay, claude’s painted illegal protest grafitti more than a few times. but he’d also like to actually be commissioned to paint something beautiful for once. ideally, it’d be another protest piece, something actively anti-war, anti-government, anti-establishment, and something he’d be proud to show the next generation.

learn hebrew

claude’s mother had always wanted this for him, and he wasn’t exactly sure why until recently. growing up, it just seemed like something more formal, meant more for his bar mitzvah or other religious ceremonies, and claude never felt particularly connected to his parents’ religion. learning hebrew just did not seem too important, especially in comparison to many other skills. however, as claude has grown and left home, losing whatever barely-there connection he did have with his mother, he finds in himself a more stirring urge to maintain a deeper connection to their shared jewish history.

get off drugs

claude isn’t quite sure how he’s going to achieve this one. having started doing drugs (marijuana primarily, a few others on rarer occasions) while in high school, they just became a very normal way of going through life. the only way he could really make it through the day without feeling an all-encompassing emptiness surrounding him. after claude returned from his military service though, his mind filled with regret and horrible memories that wouldn’t stop playing whenever he closed his eyes, he ran to the sweet release even more (harder drugs; mdma, cocaine, heroin). and what’s worse, he grew more reckless with them. thankfully, he’s separated enough from them to halt any potential addictions, but he is fearful one day it might get to that point and simply just doesn’t want to be so dependent anymore. but how can one achieve that independence when these are the only things you’ve ever truly known to bring peace? he’d like to speak with more people about his problems - ptsd, is that what he has? he’s not really sure, he’s never talked with someone long enough to figure it out. he wishes he could talk to someone who’s been through the same things, but as has been a common theme in claude’s life, disconnection with the world and with others weighs him down more every day.

this item is crossed out on his list not because it has been done, but because he wrote it when he first moved to london 4 years ago. more as a reminder or to-do list task. since then, his parents have made no effort to contact him on their part - nonetheless, he gets their message loud and clear.

With a whole whopping 66 (and counting) songs, this playlist has a wide variety of songs going from one perspective to the other. Some of those songs fall under the pop/punk genre, one of Spot’s go to. While others meet a more melancholic tune, much like Davey’s taste in music. Together these styles build together a heart-wrenching playlist opening up the hearts of these two Newsies boys.

This song a song that has reminded Spot of Davey from the first time he’d heard it. He knows that he is a lost soul in the world and usually alone, but sometimes he wants to be around others -- especially Davey. This is also a song Spot sang one night when Davey asked if he could sing, and he had to stop himself from singing a line to keep his feelings in check.

Boys Like You, Anna Clendening

David has a lot of fears when it comes to his emotions. Fears that he isn’t good enough, fears that he won’t be ready, fears that he’ll wind up hurting somebody. But he wonders if maybe it can be different with Spot. That maybe his feelings can mean something deeper and maybe, just maybe, Spot could feel the same. He just doesn’t want anybody’s hearts to break.

Having Sophie as a little sister, Spot was exposed to quite a few boyband songs. And while they aren’t necessarily his kind of music, this song takes Spot back to the first time he met Davey and how his feelings have developed along the years. Meeting Davey at 18, he knew he was attracted to him, but it didn’t take long for him to fall for him. He looks back on those days now and wishes for the simplicity and time before he was questioning why on earth Davey would kiss him while they were drunk.

This song is one that Davey has played on repeat for hours since That Morning. After the party, with the sun barely peaking over the hemisphere, his body filled with cheap burgers and alcohol. In that moment he remembered the smile on Spot’s lips and the singular thought that he needed to kiss him, right then and there. So he did and ever since he hasn’t been able to get this song out of his head.

The lyrics of this song speak directly to Spot’s feelings for Davey. There are things only Davey knows, things he refuses to share with anyone else, and he’s scared he’s said too much and will scare Davey off one day. He would always choose Davey, given up on moving on from him, but he knows that Davey has a choice in the matter as well. He hopes that he would choose him in return, but he has a feeling he would never be Davey’s first choice.

It’s common knowledge that David is the weakest one of the group. He’s always had someone protecting him; Sarah, Jack, Spot. But David has gotten himself into a sticky situation and it’s his turn to prove that he can take care of himself. olive likes tasks that keep their hands tactile and occupied, so that they can keep talking and maintain eye contact while talking to someone - always a multitasker! they could make blankets, scarves, cardigans! the possibilities are endless.

they may not always show it, but olive’s got a competitive edge that popped up from a young age. perhaps the thrill of winning gives them a certain pride in what they do. perhaps it’s just heartbreaking to be second place, deemed not good enough year after year (after year...). after being the invisible child in their home growing up, olive finds themself undeniably drawn to winning things, being told they do a good job, and having people actually be proud of them.

olive doesn’t know yet what they want this book to be about - perhaps a fantasy adventure? a children’s picture book series? an autobiography of their favorite historical figure? what it ends up being, they definitely want to write one before they retire (both from their job and from life)!

meet mother

olive’s mother left them and their father when olive was 8, claiming she was going on “religious sabbatical”. it took olive 3 more years to realize mom was never actually coming back. honestly, they don’t even know what they’d say to the woman who left her child and husband behind, but a certain (admittedly, naive) part of them hopes that she’s watching the radio show from somewhere in the world and that she does want to see olive again.

The Poor Guy’s Head Is Spinning: A Davey Jacobs Playlist (FOUND HERE)

This playlist is a big cross of somber tunes and older music. Davey likes much softer music that he can put on as background noise while he works, music that helps him relax in his day to day.
