I do like a good music event. The emotions you can catch and those wonderful action shots during music events, as well as having to think on your feet so much with the changing environment of lighting. // Irama Dan Lagu & my beloved 85mm // I was going through the crazy number of photos from last weekend and I discovered how bad I am with a wider lens. I've been shooting a lot with the 50mm and the 85mm for the past few years and I really can't get that 'feel' or emotion out of a wider lens compared to the longer focal length. SO! I confirm, I work best with an 85mm. This proves that I need more work using the 24mm, I need more practice with it. Maybe I'll leave the 50mm & 85mm at home for this weekend's assignment and force myself to only use wider lens. On a side note, the new 18mm from #samyanglens looks awesome! // Good Music gives Good Vibes // So does good photos some might say. I miss taking photos of rock shows and concerts. It is truly the best feeling for me in photography. I used to resident for a local promoter many years back but that ended when I voiced out that I should be paid more for it. That's one problem we photographers (at least some of us) face here in Singapore. "Hey can you cover a show for free? It's good exposure for you" is the normal thing we hear. SO... I gave up. No, I didn't actually. I just don't know how to promote myself in that industry. Now, I just shoot the things that pays. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy that too but... not as much when I get to shoot an energetic frontman like @johnbearsinakal featured here in my post. Enough of my rants. I got a chance to break loose from my weekend usual routine and head on down to Esplanade to enjoy good music and take some photos of these guys.
