2015年HTC与Valve联合开发了一款VR头显，在三月的MWC2015上正式发布命名为HTC VIVE。

此款头显的屏幕刷新率为90Hz，搭配两个无线控制器，并具有手势追踪的功能，给用户带来了沉浸式的游戏体验，HTC VIVE作为行业佼佼者一直稳坐国内市场老大的宝座。

然而随着其他品牌VR产品的诞生，竞争力逐渐下降，HTV VIVE正面临多重挑战。

HTC VIVE于2016年正式上市，由于最初的库存问题导致一些客户在预订几周后才拿到产品，不过17个月已经过去，大部分的问题都已经解决，VR行业的热度也越来越高，竞争也变得相当激烈，于是头显厂商开始了一轮降价战。

作为三大主流头显之一的HTC VIVE此次将价格由6888元人民币永久性下调到5488元人民币（海外是799美元降至599美元）。

合体スマホMoto Z、モジュールよりも欲しいのは「アレ」だ：山根博士の海外スマホよもやま話

CES2017で大きな話題になると思いきや、キワモノ扱いで一部のマニア層にしか受けなかったフランス発の合体スマートフォン「GraalPhone」。会場で見かけた筆者はモックアップしかまだ無いにも関わらず、そのモックを「売ってくれ！」と叫び、CESが終わった後もメーカーとコンタクトを継続中。合体モノという変態系端末には夢や希望を感じてしまうのである。 そのモックを触っての個人的な感想は「たぶん製品化されないだろうなあ」というもの。アイディアは優れているものの、スマートフォンとタブレットを別々に持った方が使い勝手が良さそうなのだ。 そもそも合体型のスマートフォンは、過去に成功した例はほとんどない。昨年2月のMWC2015でLGからモジュール合体スマートフォン「G5」が発表された時も、「これは絶対買わなくては」と思ったものの、いざ製品が出てくると、手を出すのをためらってしまった。なにせモジュール一式を揃えると、本体を除いた価格でもハイエンドスマートフォン���1台買えてしまうのだ。 ▲実際に発売されてみると、LG G5のモジュール��欲しいと思わせるインパクトに欠けていた この手の合体型製品で成功した例は恐らく、現在日本でも発売中のモトローラ「Moto Z」シリーズだろう。モジュールの「Moto Mods」はマグネットでぴたりと張り付き、しかも種類が豊富。スピーカー、プロジェクター、カメラ、外部電池と楽しさだけではなく実用性も兼ね揃えたモジュールが多数登場している。 しかもクラウドファウンディングサービスのIndiegogoとコラボし、Moto Modsのアイディアコンテストを行うという。面白い機能を持ったモジュールの登場が大いに期待できるわけだ。 ▲Moto Mods選びだけでも楽しいモトローラMoto Z / Moto Z Play モトローラ以外のメーカーの合体型スマートフォンは、発表時は大きな話題になるものの、発売になるころにはだいぶトーンダウンしてしまい、実際の購入者の数はあまり多くない、といったパターンが毎回続いているように思う。前述のLG G5も、モジュールの「LG Friends」は本体にセットになっていれば使ってみようと思ったが、別売されたものを買うほどの魅力には欠けていた。 また、合体式の元祖と言えばASUSの「PadFone」シリーズを思い出す。スマートフォンにタブレット型のカバーをかぶせるとタブレットになる便利なものだったが、新型のPadFoneが出るたびにタブレットモジュールも買い替えねばならなかった。 LG同様、せっかく合体型にしたところで、その合体先のモジュールが1機種専用であれば、本体とセットで買うタイミングを逃してしまうと、後から買おうと思う気にはなれないだろう。 ▲ASUSはスマートフォン+タブレット+ノートPCというTransformer Book Vも展示会で見せていたが、こちらは幻に終わってしまった その点、Moto Modsは最初から対応スマートフォンを1機種に絞らず、ハイスペックなMoto Zと普及モデルのMoto Z Plusを投入。また向う2年間は対応モデルを継続して出すと話している。つまりMoto Zを買い、後からMoto Modsを少しずつ買い足し、1年後に次のモトローラのスマートフォンに買い替えても、買いそろえたMoto Modsは引き続き使えるというわけだ。 モデル数が他社よりも少ないモトローラだからできることなのかもしれないが、モトローラは過去にスマートフォン「Atrix 4G」にノートPC型のモジュールがドッキングできる「Laptop Dock」を開発したことがある。コンシューマー向けと言うよりもB2Bを考えた製品だったが、恐らく売れ行きは思わしくなかっただろう。その時の反省が、Moto Modsにも少しは活かされていると考えられる。 ▲モトローラは過去にこんな合体製品も出していた Moto Modsは今後の新製品やアイディアコンテストでどんなものが商品化されるか気になるところ。1年もすればMoto Modsの種類も10を越え、カバンの中にはMoto Modsが数個入っている、なんて状況になっているかもしれない。それはそれで楽しいのだが、Moto Modsはスマートフォンに装着しなくては使えない。つまりカバンの中にいくつもMoto Modsがあろうとも、1度に1つしか使うことができないのだ。これはなんだか勿体ない気がしてしまう。 スマートフォン側を2台持ちにする、つまりMoto ZとMoto Z Playを買えばいいかもしれないが、Moto Z PlayがMoto Zより安いと言え5万円近くする。モトローラによるとエントリーレベルの製品でMoto Modsが使える端末が出てくるらしいが、安くても2万円を切ることは無いだろう。Moto Modsのために追加で2万円以上の投資はちょっと割高だ。 ならば思い切って、LTE非搭載、Wi-Fiだけを搭載したMoto Mods対応端末を出してはどうだろうか。 そういえば昔サムスンが「Galaxy Player」というスマートフォン、いや、Wi-Fi端末を出していた。Galaxyシリーズのミッドレンジモデルから3G通信機能を外し、Wi-Fiだけに対応させたものだ。価格は1万円台だったと記憶している。Moto Zも同様に、Wi-Fiのみ搭載、ディスプレイも4インチ程度と小型化した「Moto Z Player」なんて端末が1万円程度で出てくれば、Moto Modsをサブで活用する用途に使えそうである。 ▲サムスンが出していた、Wi-FiだけのGalaxyシリーズ「Galaxy Player」 このMoto Z Playerが発売されれば、ハッセルブラッドのカメラモジュールを使いたいためだけにセットで買う人もいるだろう。そしていずれは「どうせなら単体で通信したい」と、Moto ZやMoto Z Playに乗り換える、ということも期待できる。 実はこのアイディアは、はるか昔、PDAの代名詞だったPalmの互換機、Visorに似たようなものがあった。Visorは背面にSpringboardスロットを備え、そこに拡張モジュール「Springboard」を装着することが出来た。 そのモジュールの一つに電話をかけられるGSM携帯モジュール「Visor Phone」があったが、他のモジュールを使っている時には、Visor Phoneを使うことができない。そのため、Visor Phoneを単体で使う10キーパッドが販売されたのだ。両者を合体させると、単体のGSM携帯電話になるというわけだ。 ▲PDAのVisorで電話がかけられる「Visor Phone」。当時は夢の拡張モジュールだったが、携帯電話を買ったほうが安かった Visor Phoneは値段が高くてあまり売れず、それを使うための10キーパッドの存在もほとんど知られていない。敗因はVisor Phoneに単体で使いたいと思わせるだけの魅力が無かったからだろう。しかしMoto Modsには何といっても高画質カメラのハッセルブラッドカメラモジュール『Hasselblad True Zoom Camera』がある。Moto Zを買って時には合体させて使いながらも、Moto Zで作業中にハッセルブラッドだけ別に使いたい、なんてシーンもあるだろう。 ▲Moto ModsのHasselblad True Zoom Camera。単体でも使いたくなる出来の良さだ モトローラがMoto Modsにどこまで本気なのかはわからないが、モジュールの種類を増やすためには対応機種の販売台数増も必要となる。そのためにはMoto Mods対応スマートフォンの数を広げることが必要��が、使っていないMoto Modsを単体で使えるようにするための端末も必要ではないだろうか。合体式スマートフォンの勢���を止めないためにも、モトローラにはぜひがんばってもらいたいものである。 http://j.mp/2k8OfIP Engadget Japanese

1. It’s Appening

·         Future thinking for advertising within apps- What if we were to create ad products that add to the users end benefit and enhances what they’re already doing there? Such as integrating Timehop into Instagram or a shopable Instagram?

2. Technology & content 

Oculus rift is incredible technology but if the content or experience it delivers isn’t compelling you can fall of the rift with boredom.

3. Beacons could deliver our bacon on top: tech with venues/ events: Where a brand has ownership of an area – brand homes or experience- beacons can deliver additional experiences.

4. Content creation for all

Gopro & the new goPro app could be a great way for us to share content across brand venues.

5. Wearables at the fore

New pebble, iWatch, Uno noteband which allows you to read a 300pg book in 90minutes.

Thoughts after MWC 2015

After MWC2015 i found myself surprised for waiting all this long for the perfect #Android phone to replace my LG G2, but unfortunately i was fooled!. This MWC was a huge disappointment for me #HTC and #Samsung failed to impress me.

well i will talk first about #HTC one M9,  WTH HTC where is your innovation, a whole year for almost some Software features, this phone would be great for 2014, your innovative ideas was dead this year HTC having a new processor, increasing RAM, improving Boom sound and also increasing camera pixels are nothing but innovation, due camera was not bad,  and i don't know what HTC was doing last year so they have technical problems to bring due camera this year.

Coming to #Samsung galaxy S6 i don't think S6 will take that much criticism specially S6 Edge, the phone is really good, have very good features,  touch iD, UFS memory, quick charge, wireless charging and also curved screen,  i only wouldn't go to S6 for almost 3 reasons . KNoX i don't like being iPhone bounded like,  i like being free to root and edit my phone, use other roms and try new features . Leaving my G2 with 3000 mah would be soo hard, to new one with 2550 mah,  i know that the Exynos 7420 is 16nm amd my G2 was qualcom 800 soc with 22 nm tech but am sure that new apps needs more power juice also,  and it wouldn't be hard to increase the thickness of phone 1 mm and increase battery life . Not being water and dust certified also disappoint me although the phone was not battery removable. . But i have to admit that using almost stock lollipop material design is very good move from #Samsung really, the touchwiz was having soo many problems, maybe #Samsung can take a good break to build its  touchwiz again. 

Now i think the market is available for #Sony,  #LG,  #Huawei and #oneplus 

#sony : you have to fight your last battle before letting it go (after hearing that Sony wants to drop mobile business), if you release z4 with just improved design and a new interface (the most bad thing about xperia series) i think that lollipop Material design is now much prettier than Sony's UI,,  they can take Samsung steps by making pure android experience with some sony's extras,  also they need to reduce their mobile size, Also sony can walk on the small phones with high specs direction like z3 compact, its really a perfect phone 

Talking about #Huawei they started to take the lead with Mate 7 and now P8,  the phone is so close to perfection, only some problems was found in mate7 reception which i think would be solved in P8 with the dual antenna used,  phone has very good interface, very good camera on paper very good specs, lets see what P8 will do when it released 

For #LG, now it is on its way to amaze the world LG G4 only if it provide the phone with higher battery and good camera and if front speakers this will be great,  the only thing i don't like about LG is the mobile size,,  if they introduce the same specs and screen to size ratio with a 4.7 or 5 inch screen this would be definitely my next phone there is a very good software goodies now in LG's new UI i Like it soo much thanks for trying it to cloudyfa's Rom to G2 

 Lastly for OnePlus we hope its new Oxygen OS can make a good view comparing to the beast cyanogen Rom,  but for Oneplus Two,  we will se if Oneplus CEO Pete can surprise us as the last time or it was just beginner's luck 

To summarize we are just waiting for the company which will introduce the perfect phone as when galaxy S2 released which support Samsung to take the lead for a long time,  and who knows if its one of the above companies or there will be other surprises coming soon,,  let’s wait and see

El smartphone LG G4 ya tendría fecha de presentación

El smartphone de alta gama LG G4 ya tendría fecha de presentación puesto que la compañía surcoreana mandó las invitaciones para un evento. El encuentro será el 28 de abril en diferentes ciudades del mundo, entre las que se encuentran Nueva York, Londres y Singapur.

Los principales medios tecnológicos del mundo recibieron el martes una invitación para una conferencia de LG. En su dorso se lee: “See the great, feel the great”. El escrito que no especifica nada, pero apunta hacia un sólo lugar: el modelo G4.

Después de que en el MWC 2015 la empresa no diga nada sobre el smartphone de alta gama, se espera que sea en este evento que se presente. La fecha marcada es el 28 de abril y hay más de un punto de encuentro. En la lista se encuentran ciudades como Nueva York, Londres, París, Singapur, Seúl y Estambul.

Por el momento sólo se tienen rumores sobre las características del equipo y una declaración de un ejecutivo de la firma que aseguró que será muy diferente que su antecesor. Una vez más, habrá que esperar por los detalles.
