something i absolutely love about byler is that they're the "dork x their admirer" trope, mike is an absolute dork, his mouth moves faster than his brain, he talks without thinking first, he rambles and gets excited about things like dice with 20 sides, he literally uses everything but a useful weapon when danger occurs, he screams out the lyrics to songs and will absolutely loves that about him. will admires his dorky side, they'd sit somewhere together with mike rambling about something not that serious and will would just smile fondly while looking at him. will would scream out the lyrics along with mike, he'd listen to his rambling, he wouldn't make him feel dumb but heard, he'd join hellfire but also play dnd with mike alone in private and laugh lovingly at how excited mike gets. i absolutely love them

the fact will and mike's relationship is literally the "why are you looking at me like that?" x "you're beautiful" trope is making me sob AND the fact it goes both ways. mike doesn't feel beautiful, he's very insecure, he doesn't feel enough, he thinks he's just this irrelevant guy but then there's will and will makes him feel beautiful, will makes him feel enough, will makes him feel loved. like just imagine something like this:

m: "why are you looking at me like that?"

w: "you're beautiful."

m: "i- i am?"

w: "yeah. i think you're beautiful."

m: "...... no one's ever told me that before."

w: "i still think you're beautiful."

and also, will doesn't feel beautiful either. he thinks no one could ever want him cause he feels digusting, he feels like a mistake. he thinks it's almost impossible for anyone, let alone mike, to want him. but then there's mike and mike makes will's heart skip a beat, he "makes will feel like he's not a mistake at all", like "he's better for being different", mike makes him feel like he's deserving of love. this way it could go like this:

w: "why are you looking at me like that?"

m: "you're beautiful."

w: "wha- what? mike, you're don't actually- think... that."

m: "but i do. i think you're beautiful."

w: "i- thank you?..."

m: "you don't believe me. but i think you're beautiful."

and will would literally tear up because no one else has ever made him feel beautiful before. i love them
