the fact will and mike's relationship is literally the "why are you looking at me like that?" x "you're beautiful" trope is making me sob AND the fact it goes both ways. mike doesn't feel beautiful, he's very insecure, he doesn't feel enough, he thinks he's just this irrelevant guy but then there's will and will makes him feel beautiful, will makes him feel enough, will makes him feel loved. like just imagine something like this:

m: "why are you looking at me like that?"

w: "you're beautiful."

m: "i- i am?"

w: "yeah. i think you're beautiful."

m: "...... no one's ever told me that before."

w: "i still think you're beautiful."

and also, will doesn't feel beautiful either. he thinks no one could ever want him cause he feels digusting, he feels like a mistake. he thinks it's almost impossible for anyone, let alone mike, to want him. but then there's mike and mike makes will's heart skip a beat, he "makes will feel like he's not a mistake at all", like "he's better for being different", mike makes him feel like he's deserving of love. this way it could go like this:

w: "why are you looking at me like that?"

m: "you're beautiful."

w: "wha- what? mike, you're don't actually- think... that."

m: "but i do. i think you're beautiful."

w: "i- thank you?..."

m: "you don't believe me. but i think you're beautiful."

and will would literally tear up because no one else has ever made him feel beautiful before. i love them

#maaaaaan i told my bf I'd go with him to his brother's house today for a few hours #it's mostly so the dogs can play together LOL #but like.....goddamn i do not want to go whatsoever #my anxiety skyrockets when i have to be around sibling groups (especially when they actually have fun together)#it's too hard for me #too painful #reminds me too much of what I've lost #even tho i don't like ACTUALLY want my siblings back in my life because they've all apparently sided with our batshit parents #it's still hard #i raised them #they were my kids #and they still chose our shitty parents over me in the end #because our parents are extremely talented and shameless abusers and the guilt and the shame and the bribery all worked in the end #i was the only one to get out #and I'm ok with thay most days #I'm holding up ok alone in the world #but having to see right in front of me what Could Have Been #it's just too hard and too painful #i don't want to be a flake.... I like to think that Vulcans who come to understand that Humans just can’t try to process emotions the same way as them, it’s just healthiest to let it out in harmless ways, decide that venting and stuff should be taken just as seriously as Vulcan’s meditation time, and will encourage the Humans around them to complain about what’s upsetting them

#star trek #Vulcans #Humans #not based on a specific thing #but I used to know this annoying couple that were ‘family friends’#who would show up to potluck dinners and the like and would either bring nothing or bring something really just. out of left field?#like a bag of frozen chicken to a bbq #and then proceed to make sure they are first even if it was stated to let kids go first #would take HUGE amounts before anyone else got a chance to get a plate #and then make off with the leftovers again even if they were already claimed for #and it wasn’t a food insecurity thing trust me I would never speak bad about a person getting food if that was even a remote chance #the adults who raised us knew them really well and we’d been to their house a ton of times #they were just dicks #and yeah. they’d occasionally insult the food. while eating the MAJORITY of it.#it was so weird at their home they would go out of their way to get the healthiest options possible #you know the really bland tasteless expensive stuff that apparently was healthier #but then if they were visiting our house they would. eat all our unhealthy snacks.#that always pissed me off so much as a kid because we actually had a food insecurity thing going on #and also a variety of other reasons that are a bit too depressing to bring up on this post #but anyways we’d hardly ever get to have nice snacks #and this couple would just take them all??? even after we’d tell them repeatedly that it was ours and those snacks weren’t gonna be #replaced #hated that couple #if you’re wondering why they were ‘family friends’ it’s because the couple who raised us #(it feels weird to type it out like that but apparently legal guardians doesn’t fit since they never finished petitioning 💀)#liked having them around because it made them look like ‘such great Christian’s’ being nice to the people #that no one else wanted to be friends with #I always thought that was a really weird and fucked up reason to be friends with someone #this got long sorry 😭
