I ALSO GET CONFUSED WHEN WRITING IN PAST TENSE why is english so hard

i am pleading with the english gods and i am asking them to make my brain understand how to write in past tense for things set in the present. i am begging the gods to make my brain so huge and so wrinkly so that i may possess this power

#the cycle is simple #i try to stretch my writing skills and attempt to write in past tense #my brain goes HUH #then an error message appears #i try to click the error away i try to close it #i try to overcome #but the only way to escape the error message is to initiate a factory reset #and when i come to i reread what i've written #and i say 'huh that's weird why is this all in past tense'#and i switch it all over to present tense #and then i write #happy and stupid and oblivious #in present tense #my simple monkey brain working overtime to stop the next impulse of writing past tense before the cycle can start again #but like sisyphus with his rock #the cycle is destined to repeat itself #anyway #asks #whence
