do not worry. i have not forgotten oc kiss week. For the prompt "first", here's Vayu and Eden's first kiss from Answers of a Yaksha aka "vayu makes a very tame move, gets embarrassed and runs away".

It happened in what felt like an instant. A peck of a kiss, that would be imperceptible if not for the cool shock it left on the heat of Eden’s cheek. They froze in place, staring over Vayu’s shoulder at the candlelit wall. “I...” they heard Vayu’s voice waver, close to their ear. Eden said nothing, but their breath felt heavy. It would have been nice to fall forward, to wrap their arms around him, and maybe be embraced in return. Before they could act on that impulse though, Vayu completed his own thought. “I’m sorry. I don’t know why I did that,” he muttered, pushing Eden off him and getting up off the cot. Their eyes widened, and they scrambled off the cot themselves. “It’s fine! I-” they called, but Vayu had already bolted out the door. Taking a deep breath, they rushed after him, the door swinging in their wake.

the villain of Mahanagar 20XX is nebulous and the antagonist of Midsummer Echoes is an esoteric can of worms that requires timeline manipulating shit to explain so I'm gonna talk about the bosses of edensoul/bhajana, the Four Shades.

The Shades are like The Vessels in that they all share a soul connection with Vidhana. In the Shades' case, this is because they were basically made with a fragment of Vidhana's soul. This is a bit of a spoiler but they essentially represent the worst aspects of her personality and history, and preside over various hazards and blights on the land stemming from that history.

Fishy circumstances surrounding Vidhana's sleep means that reclaiming the fragments of their soul from these Shades might hold a path to awakening them and putting them in a better state to fight through the poison slowly killing them. But also they're all villainous in their own rights, so defeating them would be doing everyone a favour on its own.

In a bit I'll talk about one of the Shades, Lalanika.

I finally sat myself down and did some Art. and I got super focused on it. This is the result.

Behold Vidhana, Guardian Of The Verdant, Blessed By The Gods, etc etc aka Eden in their divine glory (yeah they have five arms in their true/final form). I've drawn Eden with multiple arms/with the signifiers of hindu divine power and all that before, but that was before I finalized their design to what it is today. So I've wanted to draw this for a while.

Also, the four things she's holding all have some significance to their role and promises:

pouring water: represents the rivers of their home, the lifeblood of nature, as Eden promised to nurture their grove.

lotus: transcendance, rising from dark and muddy water into the sunlight/divinity, as Eden did.

mango: the fruits of nature's growth and labour, a representation of nature's "wealth" that Eden protects.

talwar: the sword -- it's curved like a typical talwar but it's hard to see from this angle. In any case, it represents the ferocity of nature in the form of wild animals, disasters, and the like, and the zeal Eden will defend it with.

Unfortunately Eden is starting to have mixed feelings about this whole divine-power thing.

Thinking about my Lavellan who drank from the Well of Sorrows and was then literally used and manipulated by Mythal for no other reason than a show of power. My Lavellan who had worn Mythal's markings on her face for years, had venerated her, tried to emulate her—and then watched her goddess use her as a puppet and laugh.

My Lavellan who immediately went to find Solas to seek his wisdom and comfort despite him breaking her heart just days earlier—and removing those markings—because she knew he had to know something. Seeing his face grow pale and distraught as he struggled to respond for one of the first and only times since she'd known him.

Thinking about my Lavellan learning the truth during Trespasser—learning not just who he really was but how devoted he had been to Mythal, how much he respected her, how he had literally broken the world to avenge her.

And then thinking about my Lavellan later finding out from Morrigan that one of the first things Solas did after leaving the Inquisition was find Mythal and kill her. And just... wondering.
