19 years ago on Mother's Day, I gave birth to @ranzesi. Later, to the most gorgeous little girl @crazyrrific. So I worked all day today, which is not an uncommon occurrence for those who know me well. The highlights of my day included sacking (read: searching) a youth's room for sharps and other implements she could use to harm herself, a drive out to Bodega with two girls and a large van, comforting a youth who found out she didn't get accepted to her top school, an adorable conga line of "happy birthday" after group, and this. One of my girls made me a birthday card that made me cry, dinner consisted of my kiddos going around and saying their favorite thing about me, and having a dining room full of teenagers sing me happy birthday. If you look closely, the candles actually read "27", and the cake is covered in gummy worms because I have an obnoxious sweet tooth (that everyone makes fun of me for). So far, 27 is looking to be a good year.
